Chapter 202: Chapter 200 Shocking

"Heh, but have you ever considered that coming to our base alone greatly increases your chances of never returning?"

The figure in the black robe sneered coldly, staring at Long Chen with chilling ferocity.

She was an exquisite and beautiful woman, but the crazed murderous intent in her eyes was like that of a demon struggling free from hell.

"Kid, including myself, there are seven people in this base.

I am not bragging when I say that all seven of us possess considerable strength in the Martial Arts Domain.

Together, we could crush you as easily as flipping a hand, so, isn’t this just walking into the trap?"

The Second Hall Master gazed at Long Chen, her smile seemingly amicable but in reality, frigidly cold.

Such a ruthless character, with an aura of excessive killing and malevolence, would make anyone feel uneasy with just one glance.

But this didn’t affect Long Chen, who sat down calmly without a hint of panic.

"I’m guessing that your people have all gone out on missions, and currently, only the two of you are here."

Long Chen spoke, composed and serene.

"You think the two of us can’t kill you?"

The Second Hall Master sneered, giving the black-robed figure a significative look.

Then, the two unexpectedly made their move, each launching their fists towards Long Chen from both sides.

Long Chen raised his hands in a split second, almost simultaneously grabbing the wrists of the black robe and the Second Hall Master.

Upon being seized, the two of them urgently tried to break free.

But Long Chen’s grip was like iron pincers, rendering their attempts futile.

Crack.

Following two sharp noises, Long Chen crushed the bones in both of their wrists.

Hiss.

The figure in the black robe inhaled sharply from pain.

The Second Hall Master’s face contorted, but she managed not to let out even a whimper of pain.

Not a sound!

This actually came as a surprise to Long Chen.

It showed that the people of Shadow Hall were well-trained and had endured such cruel hardships that even with broken bones, they could still suppress their cries of agony.

Bang, bang!

Long Chen knocked them out with a slap each.

He then found some items and tied the two up, sealing some of their major acupoints to ensure they couldn’t break free even after waking up.

After completing these tasks, Long Chen started searching the office.

However, apart from a password-protected safe, there was nothing else of value.

Long Chen bent down to examine the safe, his gaze penetrating it, discovering a ledger inside.

Long Chen surmised that this ledger likely recorded many completed or ongoing missions of Shadow Hall.

"Put down the safe."

At that moment, the Second Hall Master woke up and, seeing Long Chen with the safe, her expression changed dramatically.

"What’s inside?"

Long Chen asked deliberately.

"It contains some of my personal valuables, not worth much money. If you need money, I...I can find a way to give you a few billion."

The Second Hall Master spoke with a grave voice.

"A few billion?"

Long Chen laughed, "You really are quite generous. Just casually offering a few billion, it seems many people have been killed by you, haven’t they?"

"Mr. Long, this is our line of work; it’s our profession."

The Second Hall Master spoke through clenched teeth.

"Inside is a ledger, right? Tell me the password, and I can make your death a little easier."

Long Chen said indifferently.

"How do you know that?"

The Second Hall Master’s expression darkened: "Could it be, has Shadow Hall truly been betrayed?"

"Isn’t it the person at your side?" Long Chen said: "Otherwise, how could I possibly know that your ledger is in a password safe?"

"The Black Robe..."

The Second Hall Master gnashed his teeth with hatred.

The Black Robe slowly came to her senses, saw the expression on the Second Hall Master’s face, and was utterly bewildered.

"You damn traitor, you even told Long Chen where the ledger was kept. I can tell you seriously, your family, not one will escape; they will all be liquidated."

The Second Hall Master said fiercely.

"Do you think I’m scared?" Black Robe said scornfully, "Even if everyone in the world died, it would have nothing to do with me. It is your stupidity that truly impresses me."

"You..."

The Second Hall Master’s cheeks twitched with rage to the extreme.

This was exactly the effect that Long Chen had wanted, to intentionally make this old man suffer, to subject him to mental torture.

Meanwhile, Long Chen was attempting to crack open the coded box.

Seeing this, the Second Hall Master shouted, "Stop wasting your strength, that box is made from special materials; not even a bomb could destroy it. Without the code, you’ll never open it."

"Is that so?"

Long Chen smiled.

"Hehe, let me go and I’ll show you the ledger, or else no one but me will be able to open it."

The Second Hall Master stared at Long Chen.

"You think too highly of yourself."

Long Chen extended a finger that shimmered with a faint golden glow.

With a swift motion of his finger, he sliced through the box with ease.

"How is this possible? Impossible, absolutely impossible."

The Second Hall Master’s face went pale with disbelief.

Black Robe also thought she was seeing things, blinking hard before looking again, finally certain it was not an illusion.

Long Chen had truly sliced open that bombproof box with just one finger.

"I was considering that if I couldn’t open it this way, I’d force you to reveal the code, but now it seems this box isn’t so tough after all."

Long Chen said as he picked up the thick ledger.

The Second Hall Master’s face turned green; the ledger contained records of many earth-shattering events, many unsolved mysteries that could be answered within its pages.

"Let me go, return the ledger, and I’ll satisfy whatever you want."

The Second Hall Master spoke hastily.

"What do you think I lack?" Long Chen asked.

"You don’t lack money, I’ll give you that.

How about Black Robe’s figure? You could take her away, train her yourself. I believe with your charm and strength, she will eventually submit to you."

The Second Hall Master whispered.

"Idiocy."

Long Chen couldn’t be bothered to speak further and started to read the ledger.

The Second Hall Master was frantic but helpless to break free, he could only watch anxiously.

Long Chen scrutinized every mission recorded in the ledger, growing increasingly shocked and alarmed as he read.

In the end, it was even harrowing.

The ledger detailed the Shadow Hall’s Second Hall six assassins’ every executed mission, bounties, and the like, densely packed and enough to make one’s scalp tingle.

But what angered and appalled Long Chen the most was how the Shadow Hall, for the sake of missions, would brutally kill, regardless if the target was a kind old man, an ignorant child, or even an infant, truly recognizing only money without any trace of humanity, cold-blooded to the extreme.

Such actions were detestable to both gods and men.

"You all truly deserve to die."

Long Chen closed the ledger.

"Then do you dare to really kill me? There are Nine Halls in the Shadow Hall, united in our hatred against you. If you strike me, you will be at odds with the entire Shadow Hall, and the Shadow Hall will spare no expense to make you pay dearly."

The Second Hall Master spoke with a sinister voice.

Facing death, he still tried to bluff, playing psychological tactics.

But Long Chen gave him no chance.

Thump.

Long Chen swung a punch fiercely down onto the Second Hall Master’s head!
