Chapter 17: At The Supermarket 2
Chapter 17: At The Supermarket 2
Tara’s POV
People were gathering around...from where even! It had just been Alice and I.
"You’re creating a scene, Alice. Get out of my way." I said with urgency. I couldn’t afford this embarrassment coming from her, and yet each time I tried to leave, she just kept blocking my path.
"You don’t remember who I am, do you? I am the mother of the greatest law firm here. My son is Derek Marison! How dare this filthy rag speak to us in that manner. Huh!"
"Wow, is that true ma’am?" Someone said from behind. She was standing with another lady who quickly seemed invested in the scene. They both had flashy blonde hair with heavy makeup.
"If that’s true, then maybe you need to apologize, miss. Let’s call the staff here!" The other blondie said.
"You’re not making any sense here, Alice. You’ll regret this if you don’t stop right now!." She didn’t know who she was messing with. Sure Derek owned a company, but my law firm was bigger than Derek’s!
"Ha! What are you going to do, huh? What can a low filthy rat like you do to me, huh? Ha!" Alice turned to those two ladies behind us, "You’re right, my dear. My son is Derek Marison. And this woman here, she used to be married to my son. But she is a murderer who tried to--"
Okay. That was it! As she kept talking, I brought out my phone and dialed the manager’s number. He was a friend of mine, and that was part of the reason I used to come to this supermarket.
"What are you trying to do while I’m talking to you, huh!" Alice said but I ignored her. I could have forced my way out of there, but she needed to be taught a lesson.
Two ladies stepped forward. They were attendants in the store. One of them recognized me and immediately came closer. "Oh no, are you alright ma’am?" She said to me.
The other one screamed out. "Hey Lena, what are you doing? You’re with the wrong person. That woman is the one causing problems here."
"Yea. This woman is Derek Marison mother! And that young one is causing a scene because she won’t apologize." One of the blondies said.
I ignored their chirping. The call came through as I heard a man’s voice. "Hey, Jake? I’m at the supermarket now and being harassed by some woman--" suddenly, the phone flew away as Alice slapped it from my hand.
Lena gasped out, and Alice smiled. "That’s right. You should respect me while I’m speaking to you now, okay? Security, get her out of here right now!"
"That’s right. I like that woman." Said the other blonde lady, enjoying the scene a lot.
"What is going on here?" Asked a voice from behind. Jake, a tall buffy guy with a handsome face advanced forward, anger written all over his face.
At this moment, I didn’t care anymore. "Alice, for what you’ve done, you’ll regret this. I promise you." I said to her. Lena had rushed to pick up my phone.
"Lena why are you acting like a fool? Stop respecting this lady, you look even older than her." The other attendant said.
"You’re new here, you should talk politely--" Lena tried to say to the other staff but she cut her off.
"Sir, let me tell you what happened. This lady over here is speaking rudely to miss Marison. We should throw her out."
"That’s right. And you should fire that Lena girl!" Alice said. "Spare this one. And call security to chase her out right now Mr. Manager guy."
"Abby, shut your mouth right now." Jake commanded to the other staff and she frowned her face. "And as for you Mrs Marison, I’m sorry."
Alice laughed out, glaring at me. "You brought this upon your self, Tara. Now, get lost."
"Security, for someone condoning a fight in my store, I send them out instantly because I hate fighting! So, send Mrs Marison out right now along with anyone else who wants to leave!"
"What! Are you okay, Mr manager?" Alice called out.
"Yes sir, you’re making a mistake--"
"And you, Abby. You’re fired with immediate effect." Jake cut Lena off. "Hey, are you okay?" He came forward to meet me. "If you keep staring, I’ll throw you out too." He was talking to those two blonde ladies who kept thinking that I should have been kicked out.
"Wow, is that lady more powerful?" One of them said as they scurried off.
"Sir, please!--" Abby kept begging but the security were already escorting her and Alice out.
"You will pay for this! I swear it! You’ll pay for this!" Alice kept screaming."I’ll close this goddamn supermarket down. I will, I swear it!"
"Hey, Tara." I heard Jake’s voice. Jake knew my sob story while I was married to Derek so he hated Alice and her whole family for mistreating me all those years.
"I’m fine Jake. Thanks." I said to him.
"That woman is so funny, instead of her to mind her goddamn salon that’s been crashing ever since news of her beating her staff trended, she’s here causing a scene in my supermarket!"
"She still has the salon?" I said and he confirmed with a nod. Of course she still has the salon! Alice was always so full of herself as the owner of the salon. That was it. That was how I would deal with her! I had collected my phone from Lena so I dialed a number.
Third POV
Alice was still shocked by the way Tara had treated her. She was about to dial Derek’s number but got a call instead from the agent who rented her salon to her.
"Oh hello, Mr Hasan. Why are you calling me?.I’ve already paid you for the next five years." She said angrily, transferring her aggression to him.
"Your money will be refunded to you. You are to leave the building with immediate effect. I advise you to head there now before they start to throw your loads away.
Alice gasped. "How dare you! What is the meaning of this?"
"You have upset the owner of the building so this is beyond me. I’m hanging up now. You should hurry there soon."
Before she could say anything, the agent hung up at once.
"This is nonsense! Who the fuck is the owner or the building?? What nonsense is this!" Her phone rang again and she picked up instantly. "You called to say you’re sorry??"
"No mother. This is not making any sense. How can you embarrass us like this? Getting kicked out of the supermarket in that manner?? What did you do, steal food??"
It was her son, Derek.
"Are you talking about shouting at me like this!" Alice demanded.
"Check your phone right now. Your video is trending everywhere!"
"What?" She took her phone and messages began to flood through her phone. There was a trending video with a title: DEREK MARISOL MOTHER CHASED OUT OF BLUERIM SUPERMARKET LIKE A CRIMINAL. WHAT DOES THIS SAYS ABOUT MARISOL LAW FIRM??
