The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases -
Chapter 77 - 75: Father and Son
Chapter 77: Chapter 75: Father and Son
David took a closer look at the secondary sex characteristics of this High Elf Priest and indeed spotted something curious.
The chest was not completely flat; it had some definition. But now, with his suspicions aroused, he could tell it looked more like pectoral muscles than fat...
"Fuck!" David almost cursed aloud.
He had almost taken a liking to a man!
Wrath.
But perhaps it was because the Authority of Lust had grown so strong, a dangerous thought suddenly sprouted in his mind:
This High Elf Priest has such a handsome face; even if he’s a man, perhaps he’s still...
Lust.
Get lost, get lost, get lost, get lost! David immediately banished the dangerous thought that made his scales stand on end.
Wrath.
Once his mind and vision cleared, David began to notice more details.
The Priest’s robe was embroidered with intricate golden patterns, ethereal and dragon-like. Ordinary people might not see anything unusual, but he suddenly remembered what his sister Tania had once told him.
Unlike all other dragons, Silver Dragons possessed an innate magic called Shape Control. Upon reaching adulthood, or even during their young dragon phase if particularly gifted, they could use it to transform into humans, elves, and other creatures. This allowed them to travel the world, increase their knowledge and experience, and hone their skills with the tacit consent and sponsorship of their elders.
However, their Shape Control was nearly as potent as the ninth-circle True Polymorph Spell and Transformation Spell. Consequently, unless they revealed themselves, even other dragons would struggle to detect any flaws. To prevent even Silver Dragons from misidentifying their own kin, they typically left some conspicuous marks on their humanoid forms to help their kin recognize them. This was somewhat like how masters on Blue Star deliberately left noticeable traces when crafting antique imitations, allowing their peers to identify them at first glance.
With that in mind, David immediately noticed the patterns on the High Elf Priest’s robe and the sapphire pendant around his neck that resembled a dragon’s eye...
Fuck! Not only is he a man, but he’s also a goddamn Silver Dragon.
He had almost taken a liking to a male Silver Dragon!
It’s like fucking a goblin!
Wrath.
So, another wicked thought popped into his mind:
Hey! It’s a Silver Dragon! Couldn’t I just force it to transform into a female humanoid creature?
Lust.
Get lost, get lost, get lost, get lost! David once again banished the dangerous thought that made his scales stand on end.
Wrath.
Perhaps David’s gaze was just too ’bold’ and ’unrestrained.’
The ’Elf Priest,’ who had just finished casting a Healing Spell on the last injured civilian of the day and received a Dewensen copper coin, seemed somewhat displeased. He furrowed his handsome brows and looked directly toward David.
But upon seeing that the owner of that ’evil’ gaze was a Silver Dragon, specifically a young Silver Dragon, Attilicia was immediately startled, almost thinking he was hallucinating. After he saw the eclectic group surrounding David—three ’Drows,’ a Barbarian, and a Winter Wolf—a brainstorm struck him.
No doubt about it. This must be some young dragon who hasn’t even reached adolescence and mastered Shape Manipulation yet, but like a protagonist from a minstrel’s tale, has snuck out of Dragon Island to begin his worldly travels prematurely!
Upon noticing the obvious magical enslavement runes on the two Drows’ heads and the dragon-tooth blade at the Barbarian’s waist, he became even more certain of his guess. All his previous discontent vanished like smoke.
After all, the other is just a Silver Dragon whelp. What harm could he possibly intend?
At the same time, for some reason, an indescribable attraction bubbled up from the depths of his heart when he first saw David. It made him want to show kindness and friendliness.
I wonder which clan’s little mischief-maker managed to sneak out. Good thing he ran into me.
With that thought, Attilicia rose and gestured for a few Elf Nobles, who seemed to have business with him and were about to enter, to leave. He then closed the main doors of the Hall of Justice, indicating it was closed for the day. He wasn’t eager to act like other Silver Dragon parents, who would immediately check credentials and order the youngster sent back to Dragon Island.
Instead, he looked at David warmly, asking with interest, "May I ask, young Silver Dragon of kind heart and righteous spirit, what brings you to our Hall of Justice? Is there something you require my assistance with?"
Having been disgusted twice by this ’cross-dresser,’ David was obviously not in a good mood. Pointing his tail at the High Elf Ahmed, whose face was charred as black as coal, he said, "I’d like you to perform Regeneration on this poor fellow disfigured by Dragon Breath, so his parents can recognize him when he gets home."
Priest Attilicia immediately looked with shock at the ’ugly, scorched-faced Drow.’ Upon seeing the horrendous extent of the injuries, he surprisingly didn’t show sympathy for the pitiful High Elf straight away. Instead, he looked at David with a worried, yet also relieved, expression and grabbed his clawed wrist. "You encountered a Red Dragon on your adventures? Where did you run into it? Are you hurt?"
"What are you doing!"
David, repulsed, almost reflexively tried to shake off the Priest’s soft, groping hand but couldn’t break free! The other’s strength was dragon-frighteningly strong.
He promptly shifted the blame to his sister Tania. "Of course, I’m not hurt. Yes, we encountered a juvenile female Red Dragon. If I had arrived any later, he wouldn’t have just a scorched face. By the way, Mr. Priest, shouldn’t saving a life be the priority right now?"
Attilicia let go of his grip on David’s claw with an embarrassed smile, thinking to himself, The High Elf’s injuries clearly scabbed over months ago; how could they be life-threatening in just a short while?
But he wasn’t planning to grant David’s wish immediately. Otherwise, who knew where this wayward young Silver Dragon would dash off to in the blink of an eye? As the Dragon Island envoy to Granyel on the New Continent, such an incident fell directly within his jurisdiction.
He had no choice but to employ a stalling tactic. Feigning utter exhaustion, he said, "Well, Regeneration is a seventh-circle spell, and my spell slot for it today has just been used up. Why don’t you rest here at the Hall of Justice for tonight? Tomorrow, I can cast the spell on this unfortunate—no, this poor High Elf. How does that sound?" He had the very air of a benevolent and persuasive guardian.
"No, thank you," David flatly refused. "I need to escort Mr. Ahmed, the scion of the Silver Wheel, to the Lord’s Castle to collect my fee for bringing him back. Please forgive a dragon’s inherent impulse and desire for money. How about we return to the Hall of Justice for the spell tomorrow?"
"Of course, I understand." Attilicia’s smile brightened at David’s ’candor, sincerity, and cuteness,’ but the name Ahmed suddenly reminded him of the rather humorous obituary issued by High Elf officials. He promptly made a suggestion, "Oh, General Ahmed, you say? I actually plan on visiting the Lord of the Silver Wheel tomorrow myself. How about we address this matter when we visit him together?"
David, not suspecting anything, nodded. "Then we’ll be troubling you, Priest Attilicia. We shall take our leave for today."
"No trouble at all, no trouble at all," Attilicia said, waving his hand with a smile. He then watched as David the Silver Dragon and his entourage disappeared down the road leading to the Lord’s Castle.
Only then did he rush to the Temple’s private chambers like a man possessed.
He was about to painfully spend a fortune to directly contact Dragon Island and report the urgent situation: ’a young Silver Dragon lost abroad.’ Just then, he saw an envelope sealed with the imprint of a dragon’s claw lying quietly on the long table.
He furrowed his brow, opened the letter, and skimmed through it rapidly.
After reading the letter, Attilicia’s draconic body shook violently, then again, and a third time, trembling uncontrollably.
So, I’m the last to know? Not a single Silver Dragon clan is claiming him? Could it be some Silver Dragon lady had an unspeakable affair with another Dragon outside? What a disgrace to our kind. Attilicia couldn’t help but smile with a mixture of pity, disdain, and unwillingness to associate with such behavior.
But then, as if he remembered something, his smile froze on his face.
Wait! Wait! Ahmed? The posthumously appointed Naval General? Could they have come from the Old Continent??? The Old Continent? Could it be!!!
Attilicia immediately clutched his aching head in agony. For a moment, he recalled the painful and humiliating memories from the Old Continent nine years ago. But now, he had to force himself to remember that unbearable past.
That attraction! That feeling of familiarity upon first sight, that urge to shelter the young dragon under his wings! There’s no mistaking it... That child is very likely—an eighty percent chance—my own offspring, Attilicia’s son!
The thought that his son had been living adrift on the Old Continent for six long years, and he, as a father, knew nothing about it! Overwhelming regret and guilt nearly drowned his mind and heart.
"Ah!!! My poor child! Daddy is so sorry for you!!"
In an instant, the youthful Silver Dragon wept profusely, a sight that would stir sympathy in anyone.
Then it struck him: if he felt such a strong pull towards the young dragon, then the young dragon must have felt it too... He immediately recalled David’s expression upon their first meeting—as if wanting to devour him, eyes filled with a predatory desire.
That wasn’t just my imagination! How could you look at me with such... Greed in your eyes? I am your father! he despaired internally.
"Ah! Damn you, Pafila!!!" he roared. "Look what a mess you’ve made!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!!"
At that moment, the Silver Dragon Priest was akin to madness.
