Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Rescuing (3)_1

Yet still, it was precisely this fact that puzzled Situ Xin even more. The drug lords hadn’t opened fire, so how did they capture Situ Haotian and Xiao Guobing so easily? Both of them not only had guns, but they were also top-notch in combat skills. It could be said that within Country H, only a handful could match them as their opponents.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Situ Xin’s mind. "Could it be that someone from the central government has already colluded with those drug lords?" The more Situ Xin thought about it, the more she felt the probability of her idea was higher.

"We won’t wait any longer, let’s go to the military base," Old Master Situ urged anxiously, desperately wanting to know what exactly was going on. Moreover, he was concerned about the current situation of Situ Haotian and Xiao Guobing.

"Let’s go, I can’t wait either," Old Master Xiao was also an impatient man, and Old Master Situ’s suggestion aligned with his thoughts.

Situ Xin figured that the military would surely send someone to rescue her father and Uncle Xiao, and she guessed that it would be her granduncle, Situ Haoran leading the rescue. If her guess was correct, it was another trap set by the enemy. They were planning to eliminate the reliance of the Situ Family, the Loo Family, and the Xiao Family on this operation all at once. How could she let this happen?

"Grandpa, I want to go too," Situ Xin stood up from her chair and sprinted towards them as they walked to the door.

"Baby, no, this is not a game. You stay home and be good," Old Master Situ seldom put on a stern face, but he did so as he spoke to Situ Xin.

"Grandpa, I know it’s not a game. I understand the seriousness of the situation. Please let me go," Situ Xin pleaded, but the three men did not waver an inch.

"Baby, be good and stay home, we will be back soon," Old Master Loo explained patiently.

"No, I want to go," Situ Xin said firmly. She had her own plans in mind. Since hearing about the kidnapping of her father by the drug lords, she had been thinking about personally rescuing them. By her analysis, if she failed to intervene now, her father, granduncle, and Uncle Xiao might never come back. That was the last thing she wanted to see.

"You—" As Old Master Situ was about to lose his temper, Situ Xin quickly said, "Grandpa, Grandfather Loo, Grandpa Xiao, please hear me out. I’m not following you for fun. I understand how critical this situation is, and it’s precisely because it’s so serious that I must go. You must also be aware that there is something fishy about this matter. If my analysis is correct, someone in the upper echelons is in cahoots with the drug lords, and their intention is to use the drug lords to eradicate our families’ influence in the military. So according to my guess, my granduncle will probably be dispatched to rescue my father and Uncle Xiao."

From the moment Situ Xin began talking, Old Master Situ, Old Master Loo, and Old Master Xiao were all looking at her in utter amazement. It never crossed their minds that they would hear such things from the mouth of a little girl barely over five years old.

"Baby, who told you all of this?" Old Master Loo was the first to snap back to reality, his first reaction being that someone must have told Situ Xin, and she had remembered it. And the person he thought of was the so-called master of Situ Xin.

"Grandfather Loo, these are my own thoughts. Ever since I was able to speak, my master has been teaching me knowledge in all areas," Situ Xin said, pausing before continuing, "So, Grandfather Loo, Grandpa, Grandpa Xiao, I must go with you."

The three old masters exchanged glances. "Alright then, follow closely," they consented. Since Situ Xin was able to articulate these thoughts and analyze the situation so clearly, they couldn’t just see her as an ordinary child anymore. Besides, they usually doted on Situ Xin, so they agreed.

When they arrived at the military base, Situ Haoran and his team had just come out from a meeting. When he saw Old Master Situ and the others, he showed no sign of surprise; he knew that his father couldn’t wait that long. However, when he saw his niece, he was a bit surprised. He hadn’t expected his father to bring his niece to the military base.

"How is it? What’s the situation? And what exactly happened?" Old Master Situ didn’t wait for Situ Haoran to greet him, urgently speaking out of concern.

"The higher-ups haven’t said exactly what happened, which probably means they don’t know how it went down either. Only Haotian, Guobing, and those drug lords know the full story. The higher-ups received a call from the drug lords through Haotian and Guobing’s phones, proposing negotiations," Situ Haoran’s explanation was interrupted before he could finish by Old Master Situ.

"What negotiations? Those damn drug lords are getting too bold, treating us soldiers like what, to think they can actually negotiate," Old Master Situ ranted like a laser gun, non-stop.

"You agreed to it, didn’t you," Old Master Loo directed his words at Situ Haoran, who nodded. "Alright then, Situ. The ones caught by the drug lords are our children. And now these drug lords do have the capital to be audacious," Old Master Loo said flatly, but his words struck a chord in Old Master Situ, who immediately closed his mouth.

"Then, who did the higher-ups send?" Old Master Xiao was calmer than Old Master Situ, cutting right to the point.

"I will lead the troops," Situ Haoran announced.

Upon Situ Haoran’s declaration, the three old masters simultaneously turned their gaze to Situ Xin, recalling the words she had said earlier. Their hearts were far from at peace. "When, when are you departing?" Old Master Situ looked away from Situ Xin and closed his eyes in anguish.

"We will be leaving shortly," Situ Haoran replied calmly. He agreed with the orders from his superiors because the one kidnapped was his own brother; if he did not go, he would not be at peace.

After Situ Haoran spoke, no one else said a word. Everyone felt helpless and filled with a sense of desolation and rage.

"If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave first. I need to go prepare, as we shouldn’t be long before we depart," Situ Haoran didn’t want to face the dismal atmosphere, didn’t want to see the sad expressions on his father’s face. He knew the mission he was about to embark on was fraught with peril, but he had to go, because his brother was out there.
