Chapter 667: Chapter 667 Appearance (2)_1
Edward frowned with hesitation as he glanced at the East-origin fairy and the flying White Tiger. After weighing his options, he still decided to leave with Che following Xiao Muli’s intentions. The armaments of Edward’s organization all depended on the Xiao Family’s Ammunition Empire. If he really angered Xiao Muli, and their organization’s armament sources were cut off, his fate was easy to guess.
Edward’s prudence eased the frown on Xiao Muli’s face as Che let out a sigh of relief. He had been worried Edward would choose not to leave out of ignorance.
"Xuan, you come along too." Although Xuan had wanted to stay and admire the fairy a bit longer—despite having seen countless beauties, none compared to the exquisite allure of a fairy like her—it was indeed his first encounter with one so beautiful.
"Master, I..." Xuan tried to say that with Che there, he wouldn’t need to follow, but before he could finish, Xiao Muli’s glare made him swallow his words.
"Let’s go." Che, worried that Xuan might further annoy their master Xiao Muli and double their training punishment, quickly nudged Xuan, signaling him to look at the expression on their master’s face.
Xuan also knew that if he angered Xiao Muli again, the punishment was unfathomable. Reluctantly, he left with Che.
As Che took their leave, he tactfully brought along the Xiao Family subordinates and those lurking in secret. Seeing Che’s actions, Xiao Muli’s previously stormy expression softened considerably. He thought to himself that Che’s insight wasn’t bad, and decided that at the end of the year, he would double Che’s bonus.
Which led to Che, at year’s end, receiving a thick red envelope from Xiao Muli amidst the envious stares of Xuan and others. Che was puzzled, having no idea what he had done to deserve such a generous red packet from their master.
Of course, all that came later. At the moment, Xiao Muli, satisfied as the vexing subordinates departed, glanced at Xiao Qing’s men who were immobilized by Situ Xin. He found them very bothersome but given the circumstances, it was not suitable to release them, so Xiao Muli chose to act as if they weren’t there.
Situ Xin observed the changes in Xiao Muli’s expression from the corner of her eye. Seeing his usually stoic face display such a range of emotions, she found it amusing.
"Baby, how did you get here?" After the unwanted guests had left, Xiao Muli quickened his pace to approach Situ Xin.
"I rested too much during the day and couldn’t sleep tonight, so I brought Baibai out for a walk." Situ Xin hadn’t expected Xiao Muli’s first question to be this and had no intention of saying she came because she was worried about him; she found that too cheesy to utter.
Baibai almost stumbled over at its owner’s excuse, which no one would believe. Who would go out to such a desolate place in the middle of the night just because they couldn’t sleep?
Upon hearing Situ Xin’s words, Xiao Muli was initially taken aback. But then, seeing Situ Xin’s gaze shying away from his, he understood—it was his little fairy feeling shy. Xiao Muli didn’t dwell on the issue; he did not wish to annoy his little fairy by making a big deal out of it.
Situ Xin, too, wished to move past this topic. Glancing at the immobilized individuals, she asked Xiao Muli, "Muli, how do you intend to deal with these people?"
"I’ll have someone tie them up and lock them away soon." Xiao Qing had dared to scheme against him; he must pay the proper price. Xiao Muli had his plans; he felt it was time for the Xiao Family’s people to witness his methods, or else they all might think him too soft. This time, he planned to make an example out of Xiao Qing.
"Good, have your men tie them up so I can remove the Silver Needles from their bodies. If the needles stay inside them too long, it could affect their mobility in the future."
"I’ll send someone over shortly, but baby, you and Baibai made quite an appearance just now. Many people saw you; it might cause you trouble." Xiao Muli wasn’t worried about Xiao Qing, his subordinates, or himself—there were ways to keep them quiet. However, Edward’s group was different; he neither could keep them from returning nor silence them.
"Don’t worry about that; I’ll erase that memory segment from their minds later." Situ Xin knew what Xiao Muli was concerned about and, as they had nothing to hide from each other, she promptly responded.
"That’s good then," Xiao Muli said, visibly relieved by Situ Xin’s assurance. He didn’t ask how she would erase others’ memories. With his mind at ease, he took Situ Xin’s hand. "Baby, let’s go sit at my place for a while. I’ve missed you all night long."
As he spoke, Xiao Muli wrapped his arm around Situ Xin’s slender waist. It wasn’t his first time holding her, but he still handled her carefully, scarcely daring to apply any pressure, fearing that his baby’s waist might break with the slightest force.
Situ Xin was accustomed to Xiao Muli’s intimate gestures; after all, they had kissed and embraced before, and now it was just a waist-hug. Yet, her face involuntarily flushed red. Situ Xin couldn’t fathom why every time Xiao Muli made a tender move towards her, her face would uncontrollably blush.
But Baibai, seeing Xiao Muli’s actions, complained to Situ Xin with dissatisfaction, "Xiao Muli is taking advantage of you, not only holding your hand but now even hugging your waist. If not for his genuine affection for you, I would have swatted him away with a paw long ago."
At Baibai’s words, Situ Xin’s face, previously slightly red, turned crimson. Annoyed, Situ Xin was about to scold Baibai; where did this Divine Beast learn such phrases as ’taking advantage’ and ’holding hands’?
"Baby, what’s wrong?" Seeing Situ Xin’s unusual reaction, Xiao Muli asked with concern. Although he enjoyed watching her blush at his slightest affection, the change in her usual demeanor made Xiao Muli worry.
