Chapter 404: Chapter 404: The Dark Division Intervenes (9)_1
The drug lord, after listening to his subordinate, turned around and entered the makeshift shelter they had originally set up.
"Boss, let me check the situation. If possible, I’ll take some men and wipe those people out," a gaunt man with a murderous look in his eyes stepped forward and said.
"Nonsense, those people are not something you can handle," the drug lord picked up a pair of binoculars, preparing to determine the identity and number of the people who had disembarked from the helicopter.
At the sight of the helicopter, the spirits of the Dark Division members, including Situ Che and Loo Jie, were lifted. However, the uninformed Situ Che, and Loo Jie’s teammates, immediately went on alert. They knew that the helicopter was certainly not from their superiors because if the higher-ups were sending support or anything else, they surely wouldn’t have arrived so quickly, and their captain would have been notified in advance.
Clearly, their captain had not received any messages from above. With such analysis, there was a good chance that this unexpected helicopter belonged to their adversaries.
Realizing this, the hearts of Situ Che and Loo Jie’s teammates grew cold. They knew that a fierce fight was unavoidable. The probability of them getting back alive had significantly diminished.
Nevertheless, the teammates of Situ Che and Loo Jie, after a deep breath, were fully ready for battle.
Situ Che and Loo Jie, along with a few others from the Dark Division, showed signs of joy on their faces upon hearing the helicopter. They knew that their support had arrived. The ones who would free them from this predicament had arrived. However, what they didn’t realize was that their difficulty had already been cleared by Situ Xin.
"Attention all, enter first-level combat readiness," their captain Jiang Anbang’s stern voice came through their ears.
"Captain, the ones coming are here to help us," Situ Che immediately spoke up after hearing what they said to Jiang Anbang. He was worried that an oversight might lead to unnecessary casualties.
"What? They’re here to help us? Ah Che, are you sure about this?" Jiang Anbang was skeptical of Situ Che’s words. It wasn’t that he thought Situ Che would lie to him, but there was also no message from the higher-ups informing him about support headed their way. Apart from their own higher-ups, Jiang Anbang didn’t know who else would come to their aid.
"Captain, it’s true, the people who came are here to help us," Loo Jie also confirmed Situ Che’s words.
"It’s our organization that has sent people," the lead man of the Dark Division next to Jiang Anbang said, his face rarely showing a pleased expression.
"Your organization? What organization is that?" Jiang Anbang had been full of questions about these sudden allies and had speculated about their origins. But given the urgency of the situation and seeing that Situ Che and Loo Jie were acquainted with them and knew they had no ill intentions, he had refrained from asking. Now, seizing the opportunity, Jiang Anbang looked at the Dark Division’s lead man and voiced the doubts in his heart.
"This question, you can ask our Leader when you see him. Of course, that’s if our Leader is willing to answer your question," after saying this, the lead man of the Dark Division reached out to Xiang Yang, "Boss, should we make our move now or...?"
"Wait a bit. After we meet up with the Leader, I’ll tell you what to do next," Xiang Yang said as he got off the helicopter and began to search for Situ Xin’s figure.
"Understood."
"Baibai, hurry up, Xiang Yang and Mu Li have already arrived. They must be looking for us now." With the commotion of the helicopter, Situ Xin and Baibai also noticed, and after dealing quickly with a group on their side, they rushed towards their landing spot.
"Master, you have been quite nagging lately, haven’t you noticed that I’m already on my way there?" Baibai expressed dissatisfaction with Situ Xin’s repeated reminders.
"Baibai, you’re the one who has been getting lazier. And bolder too, daring to complain about your master’s nagging," Situ Xin said as he grabbed Baibai’s tiger ears with both hands, pretending to be angry.
"Ouch, Master, Baibai was wrong. Please, don’t pull my ears," Baibai pleaded.
As this man and tiger bantered, they saw Xiang Yang and Situ Mu Li’s group coming down from the helicopter.
"Leader," upon seeing Situ Xin, Xiang Yang and the other Dark Division members collectively greeted her.
"Mm. You guys didn’t take long to get here. But you’re still far from Baibai’s speed," after taking out so many of the enemy, Situ Xin was in a good mood.
"Of course, how could a helicopter compete with your Baibai, Leader?" Mei looked at the large Baibai, itchingly wanting to pet its fur. But she also knew Baibai’s temper; except for Situ Xin, who could freely play with any part of its body, Baibai wouldn’t be happy with anyone else touching it.
"Leader, what should we do next?" After disembarking, Xiang Yang and the others surveyed their surroundings. They had seen the people on the ground and from their clothes, they knew they were the enemy’s men. They roughly guessed that Situ Xin had already made a major move before they arrived.
"Mm, I’ve pretty much taken care of the people here. This area is temporarily safe. Let the rest of the Dark Division and the special forces’ action team come out. Once they’re here, we’ll discuss what to do next," Situ Xin thought it was best for Situ Che, Loo Jie, and their team to participate in the capture of the drug lord.
At the drug lord’s place, he looked through his binoculars at the few extra people in the woods and saw the scene where one man and one tiger met with those that had disembarked from the helicopter. The drug lord furrowed his eyebrows. He had completely lost confidence in this confrontation with the special forces’ action team.
"Hei San, give the order to prepare for evacuation to our base," the drug lord was displeased with the loss of so many of his men. However, facing the unknown, he opted for a temporary retreat. Although he liked to take risks, in this case, he chose the safest approach. Watching the one man and one tiger, and the few people who had come off the helicopter with skills not much different from his own, he felt unsure and unconfident in winning against them.
