"Hello, Muli, do you have a moment?" Situ Xin asked as soon as the call connected.

"Yes, Miss, it’s quite late. Is there something you need?" Receiving a call from Situ Xin at such a late hour surprised Situ Muli. However, the next second, she thought that perhaps Situ Xin had some important matter to discuss.

"Yes, there is something. I was wondering, do you know if the national special forces have received any new missions recently?"

"The special forces? We just got news tonight that a major drug lord has emerged at the southern border, and this drug lord has quite the appetite, dealing not only in drugs but even starting to trade in arms. It seems the special forces’ mission this time is to go to the southern border and capture this drug lord." Situ Muli was aware that both Situ Che and Loo Jie had been in the special forces and knew the personnel arrangements for this mission included them both.

"Is this mission particularly troublesome?" Usually, drug busts and such were all in a day’s work for the special forces. But thinking of those people downstairs and their serious demeanor, Situ Xin felt that this mission was definitely not going to be easy.

"Yes, it is somewhat complicated. We don’t know the identity of this major drug lord, but the men around him are all retired special forces from several neighboring countries, including our own Country H. You know, the capabilities of these special forces are not comparable to those of regular people, so the power of this drug lord is extraordinary." Situ Muli flipped through the documents in front of her and spoke. "As for this drug lord’s identity, even The Dark Division doesn’t have much insight."

Hearing Situ Muli mention special forces and arms dealing, Situ Xin recalled what Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang had told her during her time at the Dragon Society—that a new gang had appeared in Capital City and was competing with Dragon Society for the arms dealing business.

Situ Xin pondered internally whether the new gang that had emerged in Capital City had any connection to that major drug lord. When she had been at the Dragon Society last time, she had promised Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang to look into it upon her return.

But then something happened in Liu Yuxiang’s family, and with that distraction, Situ Xin had put the matter out of her mind. Xia Yujie and Liu Yuxiang never called her again, and she had not thought about it since.

"Miss, are you still there?" Situ Muli thought Situ Xin had forgotten to hang up the phone and simply walked away after a long silence.

"I’m here. Muli, do you know about the new gang that emerged in Capital City? Last time Ah Jie and Ah Xiang mentioned that this gang consists of retired special forces operatives and they want to compete with Dragon Society in arms dealing."

"I’m aware of it. Ah Jie asked me to help investigate it. My findings are that this gang is involved with some government officials in Capital City. At the time Ah Jie only asked me to check for any connections with the government and nothing else, so I only uncovered that much without further investigation." Situ Muli, prompted by Situ Xin, also felt that the gang surfacing in Capital City might be connected to that major drug lord.

"Then help me to investigate this gang in Capital City more deeply. I have a feeling this gang isn’t simple," Situ Xin instructed. "Oh, and tell Xiang Yang, have him dispatch some members of The Dark Division to stand by at the southern border. If they see a flare, they should reveal themselves and rush to assist the special forces with the mission. If there’s no flare, they should stay where they are."

"Understood. I’ll make the arrangements right away."

After hanging up the phone with Situ Muli, Situ Xin still felt uneasy.

She took Baibai with her into a space where they soaked in a hot spring to wash away the fatigue of the day. Then, when midnight came and everyone was asleep, Situ Xin woke Baibai. "Baibai, get up quickly; we need to rush to the Dragon Society now."

"Ah, Master, what are you doing? It’s the middle of the night; can’t you let people sleep?" Baibai stretched and yawned, his tiger eyes sleepy and dissatisfied.

"Sleep, sleep, sleep—you’ve become lazier by the day, just eating and sleeping. You’re not a tiger; you’re more like a pig," Situ Xin said, tapping Baibai’s tiger head. "Hurry up, no dawdling. I’ve really got an emergency, so transform back to your real form; we need to make a trip to the Dragon Society."

Baibai reluctantly changed back to his real form, not understanding why he had been so sleepy lately.

Once Situ Xin got on Baibai’s tiger back, he leaped from the window of the room and soared out. As Baibai flew, he yawned and said, "Master, why don’t you go to the Dragon Society during the day? You had to pick the middle of the night to go there."

"Baibai, you talk more and have gotten lazier. That’s not a good sign," said Situ Xin as Baibai turned his head and tilted his body. She quickly grabbed his neck. "Baibai, focus! I don’t want to fall off your back."

When Situ Xin arrived, it was past midnight, but the headquarters of the Dragon Society was still bustling. People were coming and going, some in a rush and others with a serious, tense expression.

As they saw Situ Xin, joy appeared on their faces. Then they bowed their heads in unison and greeted her, "Greetings, Miss."

"Yes, hello," Situ Xin greeted them back and then headed straight to the elevator to go to the top floor.

"Boss, since they have thrown down the gauntlet, we cannot back down no matter what."

"Yes, Boss. When has Dragon Society ever been afraid? Especially of such a newly established gang."

"Damn it, I’ll just take a knife and chop them all down," Situ Xin heard as she stepped out of the elevator. She noticed that the rarely used conference room on the top floor of Dragon Society was packed with some of the high-ranking members who were having a meeting.
