Chapter 327: Chapter 327: Situ Xin’s Design Drawing (2)_1

According to most families, the matter of selecting universities should start with family meetings or looking over the admission scores of various schools from past years, right after the Gaokao had ended.

However, for the Situ Family, this scene didn’t occur at all. Indeed, Situ Jin was destined to attend a military academy in Capital City. For them, as long as Situ Xin attended a university in Capital City, everything else, including which university and what major, depended on Situ Xin’s preference. This reflected the extraordinary status that Situ Xin held in both the Situ Family and the Loo Family.

But Situ Xin had already decided she would attend Capital City University—she just had always been unsure about her major. It was her aunt by marriage who, seeing her hesitation, suggested she study financial management. And that’s how she finally made up her mind.

When Situ Xin and the others went to fill out their college application forms, they did it incredibly fast. While others were still checking answers, Situ Xin’s group had already gotten the forms from the homeroom teacher and filled them out.

As Situ Xin and others left after submitting their forms, there were several classmates looking at their answers with tears swirling in their eyes.

Early that day, Situ Xin received a call from Murong Wanyu. "Xiao Xin, the Gaokao results come out today, and I’m so nervous."

"Oh, the results are out today?" Situ Xin had been busy making clothes and embroidering these past few days, having completely put the Gaokao out of her mind. Moreover, no one in her family had mentioned it.

"My God, Xiao Xin, you didn’t forget that the Gaokao results are coming out today, did you?" Murong Wanyu’s voice expressed astonishment over the phone.

"Ah. I really did forget," Situ Xin admitted, which brought on a lecture from Murong Wanyu. "Xiao Xin, how could you forget something so important? Let me tell you, the scores will be out soon, and you’d better remember to call."

Murong Wanyu initially called while feeling very nervous, but Situ Xin’s casual attitude surprisingly eased her own anxiety.

After chatting a bit more with Situ Xin, Murong Wanyu said she’d call back once the Gaokao scores were released.

Just after hanging up the phone, Situ Xin saw Situ Jin coming downstairs. "Brother, do you know the Gaokao results come out today?"

"Of course, I know. You remember it too? With all the needlework and threads you’ve been busy with, I thought you’d completely forgotten about it," Situ Jin said as he sat beside Situ Xin and started ruffling her hair. Only after he’d thoroughly messed it up did he withdraw his hand with satisfaction.

"Hey, bro, what are you doing? You’ve messed up my hair," complained Situ Xin, growing tired of everyone either pinching her face or messing up her hair, "If it weren’t for Wanyu’s call, I would have really forgotten."

"Just as I thought, how could you remember something like the Gaokao?"

In both the Situ and the Loo families, although no one mentioned the Gaokao, everyone remembered—except for Situ Xin and, well, Loo Bun. Prior to the release of the Gaokao scores, those who could rush back, did.

Seeing such a big deal made out of it, Situ Xin was speechless. Was it really such a big deal that warranted everyone’s attention?

"Baby, Jin, the Gaokao scores are in. Hurry up and call to check," Situ Haoran said, looking at his watch, then spoke to both Situ Xin and Situ Jin.

"I’ll call," said Situ Jin, taking out both his and Situ Xin’s admission tickets before picking up the phone and turning on the speaker. He knew that, apart from him and Situ Xin, probably everyone in their two families was nervous—even the hands of Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo that held their cups were tenser than usual.

Situ Jin dialed the score inquiry hotline. Thanks to their military district’s phone line, his call connected immediately, unlike the constant busy signals that plagued regular families.

Following the instructions on the phone, Situ Jin first entered Situ Xin’s admission ticket number. As the automated voice reported Situ Xin’s scores, everyone held their breath, fearing any distraction. When the final total score was announced, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

The results were as Situ Xin had expected.

After checking Situ Xin’s scores, Situ Jin dialed the hotline again to check his own. His final score turned out identical to Situ Xin’s—although, of course, they differed on individual subjects.

Knowing Situ Xin’s and Situ Jin’s scores, both the Situ and Loo families felt relieved. Even if their scores hadn’t met the admission cutoff, they would have found a way to get them into the universities they desired.

Yet, celebrating such scores felt entirely different.

It seemed that Situ Xin, Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao were fated to share a bond, for they all scored exactly the same on the Gaokao, creating a historic first in Capital City by having four Science top scorers simultaneously. This made their homeroom teacher ecstatic, his mouth rarely closing from his beaming smile.

Meanwhile, Murong Wanyu performed exceptionally well. Although her scores weren’t as high as those of Situ Xin and the others, they were more than enough for Capital City University. If not for the difficulty of casually entering the military district where Situ Xin lived, Murong Chen, Wanyu’s father, would have already come with a gift to thank Situ Xin.

After the Gaokao scores were released, Situ Jin, Yu Qihao, and Xiao Muli were sent off to military training. They went for training annually, but this time, those aiming for military school trained separately from those who had previously undergone training in the district. This meant they were in for a heavier workload than ever.

Fortunately, Situ Jin, Yu Qihao, and Xiao Muli were accustomed to the rigors of such training. It wasn’t too hard to bear.

However, on the night before he was sent off to the army, Situ Jin complained non-stop to Situ Xin, "Baby, look at how pitiful your brother is, going to suffer in the army tomorrow. The food there really isn’t fit for humans." His pitiful look was a far cry from the mature and steady Situ Jin everyone knew.
