Chapter 269: Chapter 269: You’ll See (1)_1

Situ Jin and the others also felt the burning gazes of the girls around them. But luckily, all three of them had grown accustomed to it and simply chose to ignore it.

When Situ Xin and the others took their seats, Situ Xin heard a classmate whispering, "Wow, they are so handsome, even more so than the most popular guys at our old school."

The moment that voice faded, Situ Xin heard the girl who had just spoken being scornfully countered by her deskmate, "You really are a country bumpkin who’s never seen the world. Our school’s three princes are way beyond what those crummy school heartthrobs can match." Clearly, the girl who had just spoken was someone who had come up directly from this school’s junior high.

After listening to the various whispers and discussions in the class, Situ Xin looked around to see if there were any familiar faces. Honestly, there were a few people Situ Xin didn’t want to share a class with. It wasn’t because of fear or anything; it just felt like a hassle. Sometimes when in a bad mood, it could become annoying. Situ Xin feared that one careless moment when feeling down might lead to using those few as a target.

After scanning the room, Situ Xin didn’t spot any of those familiar faces, which was quite puzzling considering they were attending the best school in Capital City, and their current class was reputed to be the best of the best.

Logically speaking, the families in the same compound as the Situ Family should have done everything possible to get their children into this class.

As Situ Xin stared into space in one part of the classroom, Situ Jin came over, looked in the same direction, but saw nothing beyond a white wall. "Baby, what are you looking at?"

"Ah," Situ Xin turned around when Situ Jin asked and replied, "Oh, I was just checking if there was anyone we knew in this class. Turns out there’s not a single one. I don’t get it, our class is supposed to be the best in the entire school, why wouldn’t they be here?" Situ Xin was uncharacteristically baffled.

Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao understood Situ Xin’s confusion once they heard it. During the days following their return, they had all heard about Situ Xin’s exploits over the summer. When they found out that Situ Xin was now the leader of The Dark Division, their jaws had literally dropped.

Xiao Muli had always known about Situ Xin’s excellence, but he hadn’t expected to be so far behind without even realizing it. This made him more determined than ever to work harder. Indeed, since coming back, Xiao Muli had been particularly diligent in his martial arts practice, earning him rare praise from Old Master Situ.

Those from the class who knew Situ Xin and had impressions of him were those who had shown hostility and had pulled tricks on him. Originally, as the favorite child of the Situ Family, the adults knew these were just conflicts between children and wouldn’t get involved as long as nothing serious happened.

However, once the families learned through the grapevine that Situ Xin had become the leader of The Dark Division—and though such insider information wasn’t widely spread, it was highly accurate—they all knew Situ Xin was not someone to trifle with. Before, it was only because she was in a good mood and didn’t hold grudges. Those families quickly moved their children to other schools before the start of the new term for fear of Situ Xin settling old scores on a day when she was in a bad mood. They’d be in deep trouble then.

Some parents in the military compound were worried that their own sightless kids might accidentally offend Situ Xin, and so, they deliberately placed them in other classes.

This led to a first in the history of Situ Xin’s school, where for once, the top class of the first year had a majority of kids not from the military compound, marking the most fair selection ever.

"Hey," when all four of them were lost in their thoughts, a voice from the girl in the front desk brought them back to reality.

The girl sitting in front of Situ Xin turned around and presented a big, beaming smile. When Situ Xin came to her senses, what she saw was a slightly tanned face brimming with vigor. Situ Xin wasn’t sure if it was because of the girl’s sincere smile, or her own good mood, but she responded with a smile that came straight from her heart.

The moment Situ Xin smiled, the girl exclaimed in admiration, "Wow, I thought you were pretty enough already. But your smile is even more beautiful. I’ve never seen anyone smile more beautifully than you."

Situ Xin, facing the girl showing such an infatuated look, had a helpless expression. In her past life, and even today, she was used to seeing that sort of infatuation on the faces of boys, but this was the first time it was from a girl.

And for the first time, Situ Xin didn’t feel a bit of aversion to someone showing such blatant infatuation with her looks.

On the other hand, Situ Jin wasn’t pleased with a girl showing that kind of expression towards his sister, "Hey, infatuated girl, put away that god-awful expression."

"Who are you calling an infatuated girl? I have a name, and it’s not ’hey’. What’s wrong with my expression, is it bothering you or what, hmph." The spirited girl fired back at Situ Jin with a snarl, then immediately switched to a grin when she turned to Situ Xin. "Hey, pretty girl, hello, my name is Murong Wanyu, what’s your name?"

Upon hearing the name Murong Wanyu, Situ Jin couldn’t help but burst into laughter. "Your name really doesn’t suit you, does it? Where’s the gentle and refined part? You’re totally a tomboy."

"You," at Situ Jin’s words, Murong Wanyu pointed at him, speechless for a moment. It took a while before she managed to spit out, "What’s my name to you? Hmph," turning her head away, she ignored Situ Jin.

Watching the interaction between her brother and Murong Wanyu, Situ Xin wore a ponderous look. Could it be that her brother had fallen in love with Murong Wanyu at first sight? Her imagination truly was unique. If Situ Jin knew what his beloved little sister was thinking, he would probably be furious. How could he have fallen for Murong Wanyu? He genuinely didn’t like her one bit.
