Xiao Muli didn’t return when the school opened and it was time for registration. Situ Xin was a bit worried, wondering if something had happened to Xiao Muli because during their previous phone call, Xiao Muli had assuredly said that he would return for the start of school.

Situ Xin didn’t have Xiao Muli’s phone number and was unable to contact Xiao Muli.

Meanwhile, Xiao Muli had spent the past few days in the Xiao Family’s rigorous study sessions. Just before school was about to start, Elder Master Xiao suddenly told Muli that to agree to let him return to school, Muli had to complete his study of the knowledge required by the Patriarch of the Xiao Family before leaving.

After everyone had left, Old Master Xiao anxiously asked Xiao Muli, "Muli, are you confident?"

"I believe in myself," Muli replied, not mentioning that his confidence was bolstered by his determination toward Situ Xin.

Following that, Muli began waking up before four in the morning to study and attend classes. It was during this intensive period of studying that he made an astonishing discovery – he had a photographic memory. He had never noticed before due to a more relaxed approach to studying and was aware of his intelligence. But now, he realized he could remember anything he read just once.

Unknown to Muli, his extraordinary memory was largely thanks to Situ Xin.

Overjoyed by his newfound ability, Muli’s confidence surged regarding his completion of the Xiao Family Patriarch’s required knowledge before leaving.

However, despite his efforts, Muli couldn’t complete his studies before the school opening but managed to do so on the second day after classes began.

When Elder Master Xiao and Xiao Yongxin heard the news, they were in complete disbelief. Xiao Yongxin reacted with an unsightly expression, saying, "This is impossible, I don’t believe it."

Eventually, Elder Master Xiao and the teachers set examination questions for Muli. If he could answer them, he would be deemed to have passed.

Unsurprisingly, Muli easily answered the questions posed by the teachers and Elder Master Xiao. Even the particularly difficult and obscure questions, which Elder Master Xiao, at Xiao Yongxin’s prompting, asked with the intention of tripping Muli up, were no match for him. When Muli produced the answers, the expressions on the faces of Elder Master Xiao and Xiao Yongxin were uglier than if they had eaten something filthy, causing Old Master Xiao, who had been maintaining a stern face, to smile.

With that, Muli officially qualified as a candidate for the Patriarch of the Xiao Family. Now, they just had to wait three years for Muli to return to the Xiao Family and compete with the other candidates.

When Old Master Xiao and Muli rushed back home, it was already the fourth day after military training at the school had begun.

On his return, just like Yu Qihao, Muli didn’t even enter his house but first went to the Situ Family to find Situ Xin. And because his grandfather Old Master Xiao accompanied him, Old Master Situ did not drive them away, though he looked at Muli with displeasure.

The high school that Situ Xin and the others attended was the same school as their middle school, only the teaching building had changed.

Even though Situ Xin and the others didn’t attend the military training, there wasn’t a teacher in school who didn’t know their names. On the first official day of classes, when Situ Xin, Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao arrived in the classroom, their seats had already been reserved for them.

As they appeared, students who recognized them approached Situ Jin and said, "Situ Jin, the teacher has reserved seats for you guys, over there," pointing to two empty desks at the back.

"Thank you," Situ Jin replied as he carried both his and Situ Xin’s backpacks towards the available seats.

When Situ Xin saw the reserved seats assigned by their homeroom teacher, a flicker passed through his eyes, thinking that the benefits of power were omnipresent. Yet, he was also curious as to how their homeroom teacher knew to reserve seats in the exact spots they had sat during middle school.

As the four of them entered the classroom, they drew the attention of everyone. Students who were originally from this school were not at all strangers to Situ Xin and the others; in fact, they were quite familiar.

Meanwhile, new students who had been admitted to the school through entrance exams looked at Situ Xin and his party of four with curiosity. And when Situ Jin, Xiao Muli, and Yu Qihao appeared, fascination and amazement emerged in the eyes of some of the female students.
