Chapter 183: Chapter 183: The Awesome Sister (2)_1
"Hey, you girl, have you forgotten about your Godpa Deng? You haven’t come to see me in a while," Old Deng said as his smile widened upon seeing Situ Xin. His tone became much gentler as he spoke.
Those familiar with Old Deng were surprised by this; the fact that Situ Xin considered Old Deng as her honorary grandfather was not well known. Hence, the scene unfolding in front of them sparked silent astonishment and speculation about when the little princess of the Situ and Loo Families became so familiar with Old Deng.
"Not at all, I knew that you’ve been busy lately. Besides, I haven’t forgotten to bring over some good things for you and Grandma Deng," Situ Xin replied, her heart recognizing Old Deng as her godfather after such a long time. She could see that Old Deng’s family truly cared for her. Both Old Deng and Grandma Deng doted on Situ Xin no less than her own grandparents did.
"Your Grandma Deng already told me about it," Old Deng said as he patted Situ Xin’s hair affectionately. "But, you girl, I had no idea you could play the piano so well. Tell me, is there anything you can’t do?"
After hearing Old Deng’s words, Situ Xin touched her chin, pretending to ponder for a moment before replying, "Looks like there really isn’t anything I can’t do."
Old Master Yu saw that everyone was gathered around and said, "Let’s not crowd here. Let Old Deng sit down and have a rest."
Due to Old Deng’s arrival, Situ Xin had no choice but to sit at the main table, right beside Old Deng. Old Master Liu, sitting at the same table, couldn’t help but feel his heart sinking as he watched every move between Old Deng and Situ Xin. He knew that what happened today with his granddaughter would certainly be remembered by Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo, who would likely put obstacles in the Liu Family’s way in the future. However, if Old Deng were to target the Liu Family as well, then they would truly have no salvation.
Apart from the small incident at the beginning with Liu Qianxue and Zhang Siya, Old Master Yu’s birthday celebration generally went smoothly.
On the same night the celebration ended, several families within the Capital Military Region and government compound held lengthy meetings behind closed doors, particularly the Liu Family.
As soon as Old Master Liu stepped out of the restaurant, his expression turned grave. Upon returning home, he bellowed, "Liu Qianxue, stand right here."
Startled by Old Master Liu’s shout, Liu Qianxue immediately burst into tears.
"Old Master, what are you doing? Although Xiao Xue caused some trouble today, she’s still young, and you’re going to scare her like this," protested Ole Lady Liu. Normally, Liu Qianxue was pampered by everyone in the family, and this was the first time she was reprimanded by Old Master Liu. Seeing her beloved granddaughter cry was heart-wrenching for her.
"You stay out of this, Old Madam," Old Master Liu snapped. "Today, I must teach her a proper lesson." It was about the Liu Family’s future development, and his urgency was palpable. "Before I came to the Capital City, I warned you and your brother that it’s different here, that you can’t throw around temper tantrums like a spoilt brat. And what do you do? Offend someone you shouldn’t have, right from the start. Do you realize that because of your antics, our Liu Family might no longer have a place in the Capital City?"
"Dad, is it that serious?" Liu Guochang knew his daughter had caused trouble, but he was unaware of the severity of the situation.
"How could it not be serious? You should know who Situ Xin is. Moreover, I heard from Old Yu that Old Deng has recognized Situ Xin as his honorary granddaughter. You didn’t see how affectionate he was towards her today. How can this not be serious?" Old Master Liu said with a stern face.
Upon hearing his father’s words, Liu Guochang realized the complexity of the situation and nervously said, "Dad, what do we do now?" He asked anxiously.
"I don’t know what to do either. Tomorrow, have Xiao Xue go to the Situ Family and apologize to Situ Xin," Old Master Liu considered briefly before speaking. "Also, after this incident, don’t send Xiao Xue to the same school as Yu Qihao anymore. Put her in a boarding school instead." He was worried that Situ Xin would be constantly reminded of the incident if she saw Liu Qianxue, and he wanted to prevent her from causing more trouble due to her temperament.
"Grandpa, I don’t want to," Liu Qianxue protested upon hearing she couldn’t attend the same school as Yu Qihao, her young miss temperament flaring up.
"You don’t have a choice, and you need to change your spoiled ways," Old Master Liu glared at Liu Qianxue, speaking firmly. "And another thing, all of you, no more pampering her from now on, or our Liu Family will fall because of her," he warned everyone present.
A similar scene played out in the Zhang Family’s study, where Zhang Siya was informed that she would be going abroad to study. Zhang Siya did not show any reluctance at her grandfather and father’s suggestion, knowing that they were merely informing her rather than asking for her opinion.
On this restless night in the compound, after returning from the birthday celebration, Situ Xin entered her room and stepped into her private space. She then indulgently soaked in the hot springs, washing off the fatigue of the day.
"Master, you’ve finally come in. I was about to die of boredom," Baibai complained. Situ Xin had left Baibai in her space while she attended Old Master Yu’s birthday feast. Time in her space flowed much faster than the outside world; a single day outside equated to about ten days in her space, leaving Baibai incredibly bored. As soon as Baibai sensed its master’s presence, it cheerfully rushed over. If Situ Xin hadn’t been soaking in the hot springs, Baibai would have certainly pounced into her arms.
"Baibai, I’m sorry. I’ll take you out in a bit," Situ Xin apologized, sipping some grape juice as she soaked in the hot springs.
"It’s okay, just don’t leave me in the space next time," Baibai said with a hint of entitlement. Although the outside air was uncomfortable for Baibai, it preferred the liveliness of the outside to the loneliness of her space.
