Chapter 177: Chapter 177 Banquet Begins (1)_1

"Heehee, how could I not come to Grandpa Yu’s birthday banquet?" Situ Xin said with her sweet voice, "Happy birthday to Grandpa Yu, may your fortune be as vast as the East Sea and your life as long as the Southern Mountains."

"Haha, good, good, we’ll take Xiao Xin’s auspicious words to heart." Old Master Yu chuckled non-stop after hearing Situ Xin’s words.

"Xiao Xin’s words are always sweet, but only she has such a talent. With a few words, she has spoken to all our hearts. However, Old Yu, you just misspoke. How could Xiao Xin be like a princess, when she is in fact a princess?" Old Master Xiao watched Situ Xin with joy. Ever since his grandson Xiao Muli mentioned he had someone he liked, Old Master Xiao had speculated and concluded in his heart that this girl was Situ Xin.

And he already liked Situ Xin very much, now subconsciously he considered Situ Xin as his own granddaughter-in-law, his fondness for her growing with every look.

When Situ Xin entered the banquet hall with the four elderly masters, Yu Qihao and Xiao Muli, who were chatting with a group of their peers, noticed her. They quickly stood up, excused themselves from the conversation, and walked towards Situ Xin.

Seeing these four respected elders approach to greet her, one should know that in the Capital City, these four families hold pivotal status. Everyone took advantage of this excellent opportunity to curry favor as much as they could.

Old Master Situ, looking at the people around him, said to Situ Xin, "Baby, go and play with your brothers for a while."

"Yes, Baby, go and have fun with your brothers, but don’t run around everywhere, okay?" Old Master Loo added his advice.

"Alright." Situ Xin didn’t want to listen to a bunch of people brown-nosing, so as soon as her grandfather and grandfather-in-law suggested it, she agreed.

"Che, Jin, you two must take good care of Baby," Old Master Situ, unable to ease his worry, instructed his two grandsons again.

"Xiao Jie, you too, must take good care of Baby." Old Master Loo also reminded his own grandson.

"Don’t worry, Grandpa, Brother and I will take good care of Baby," Situ Jin assured Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo seriously as he held Situ Xin’s hand.

The actions of Old Master Situ and Old Master Loo caught the attention of the other elders present, making them inwardly marvel that the rumors were indeed true; the Situ and Loo families did have a little princess.

"Let’s go. We’ll sit over there. Xiao Xin, Grandpa knew you were coming and especially instructed the hotel chef to make your favorite pastries and fresh-squeezed juice," said Yu Qihao. He had been instructed repeatedly by Elder Yu to take good care of Situ Xin. But even without these reminders, he would have made sure to look after Situ Xin well.

Yu Qihao knew that Situ Xin didn’t like noisy crowds, so instead of leading everyone to where he had been sitting with the group, he searched for a quieter place to sit down.

This group of people was all familiar to Situ Xin, and she made herself at home. Having been hustled about since getting up in the morning, she was genuinely hungry. As soon as she sat down, she rubbed her little tummy and said pitifully, "Qi Hao, I’m starving."

Yu Qihao couldn’t help but reach out and touch Situ Xin’s hair when he saw her feigning pity, only to be met with Situ Xin pouting and saying, "Ah, don’t mess with it, my hair took all morning to get like this. If it gets messy, it’ll be ruined."

"Alright, I won’t touch it. I’ll go get you something to eat right now," Yu Qihao said with eyes full of indulgence. After that, he went to fetch food for Situ Xin.

As Yu Qihao left, Situ Xin glanced around and noticed the expression on the faces of two people to her left and right was remarkably alike. "Brother Che, Muli, why aren’t you two saying anything?"

No sooner had Situ Xin finished speaking than Xiao Muli said, "Xiao Xin, you look very beautiful today."

Situ Xin was relieved that she wasn’t eating, or she would have certainly choked. She had never expected Xiao Muli to ever compliment someone on their beauty. Turning to look at him, she said somewhat dazedly, "Thank you."

The adorably dazed look on Situ Xin’s face brought a smile to Xiao Muli’s lips.

"Fawning," muttered Situ Che. Both Situ Che and Situ Jin were overprotective brothers. Though Situ Che was usually quiet, he was highly intelligent with strong observational skills; he immediately realized that both Yu Qihao and Xiao Muli had a fondness for his little sister. However, his feelings towards anyone trying to encroach on his sister were less than favorable.

"Here’s the food, it’s all Xiao Xin’s favorites," declared Yu Qihao, leading a waiter carrying various pastries. Once the food was laid out, Situ Xin eagerly grabbed a piece and stuffed it into her mouth.

As Situ Xin and her company enjoyed their pastries and chatted, many eyes occasionally turned toward them, especially the so-called second-generation officials who had just been with Yu Qihao and Xiao Muli.

"Who is that little girl? How come I’ve never seen her before?" They recognized Situ Che and the others who often appeared in their social circles, but they had no recollection of Situ Xin, who wasn’t active in their circle.

"I just saw that little girl standing with them; her status mustn’t be low," said one of the boys about the same age as Situ Jin.

"Not low at all. If I’m not mistaken, she must be Situ Che’s sister," reasoned the boy, who was about the same age as Situ Che and Loo Jie and was in the same class. He often heard Situ Che and Loo Jie talk about their sister, so he surmised this when he saw how Situ Che and Loo Jie were particularly attentive to Situ Xin.

Having said that, the boy stood up and told his friends, "Come on, let’s go say hello to Che’s and Jie’s precious sister." Those who hung out with Situ Che and Loo Jie were well aware of how important this sister was in their hearts.

As soon as the older ones left, a girl who looked about Situ Xin’s age frowned petulantly and complained to the boy beside her, "Brother, who’s that girl? Why is everyone fawning over her?" Left unsaid was her wonder why her Brother Qihao was so nice to her and even went out of his way to get pastries for her. Although Brother Qihao was always smiling when he was with her, he was very polite.
