Chapter 176: Chapter 176: Design Blueprint_1
"Yeah, not bad, not bad, our Baby is now a princess indeed," Situ Xin’s great-aunt said with a beaming smile as she looked at Situ Xin.
"Hee hee, our Baby has always been a princess, a true princess at that," Situ Xin’s aunt said, her affection for Situ Xin rivaling that of Situ Xin’s mother Loo Yaxin.
Since Old Master Yu had invited many people, the banquet was not held at home but was directly arranged at the National Grand Hotel. In her previous life, Situ Xin had been to the National Grand Hotel quite a few times, but since her rebirth, she had not yet been there.
Situ Xin rode with Old Master Situ and Old Madam Situ in the same car. Situ Haotian had originally planned to have his daughter ride with him; he missed her terribly after spending a long time in the army. However, just before boarding the car, his plans were foiled by his father, Old Master Situ, who had suddenly decided to woo her over to ride with them.
Situ Jin, looking at his father who had just lost his daughter to his grandfather, said without any consideration for face, "Dad, just save it. There’s no way Sister could ride with you. Haven’t you noticed that grandpa is also envious right now?"
Hearing his son’s words, Situ Haotian followed his son’s gaze towards his father-in-law, who was wearing a rather tight face at the moment.
Upon arriving at the National Grand Hotel, Situ Xin got out of the car. Since it was winter, her mother had wrapped her in a small white mink shawl before leaving the house.
Situ Xin looked at the familiar yet strange National Grand Hotel with mixed emotions. Old Master Situ, standing beside her, mistook her contemplative gaze for curiosity about the hotel. "Baby, do you like the National Grand Hotel? If you do, Grandpa will bring you here often in the future."
At Old Master Situ’s words, Situ Xin couldn’t help but have black lines popping up on her forehead.
After Old Master Loo and the others arrived, Old Master Loo and Old Master Situ took the lead at the front of the group, with everyone else following behind. There were exceptions, though. Situ Xin stood between the two Old Masters, holding hands with each. The usually stern-faced Old Masters now had a hint of a smile.
Situ Xin and the large group marched grandly into the National Grand Hotel. The hotel’s doormen and usherettes, all specially trained, were familiar with Situ Xin and her group. They greeted them warmly with "Welcome!" However, when they saw Situ Xin walking between the two Old Masters, their expressions changed slightly, wondering who the little girl was.
Situ Xin’s group, unfortunately, ran into the Jia Family on their way to the banquet hall. Old Master Jia, who had tried to harm others but ended up harming himself last time, did not really want to encounter the Situ family, especially Situ Xin. Every time he saw her, he was reminded of the warnings she had given him, which seemed engraved in his bones. Seeing Situ Xin made him irrationally irritated.
Although Old Master Jia didn’t particularly want to see Old Master Situ and his family, since they had met, he still had to greet them. When Situ Xin saw Old Master Jia and Ling Ruobing trailing behind the large Jia troop, she thought to herself, "How disappointing. I hoped not to see such unpleasant people, and yet here they are." What she found odd was Old Master Jia’s thinking. Why would he bring his illegitimate daughter to such an important event? What was he trying to do, publicly announce her status as his illegitimate daughter? But if he really intended to acknowledge his granddaughter, he would have to take their family name back, which he hadn’t done for so long. Moreover, the information she had received about the Jia Family indicated that Liang Ruobing and Liang Yuemei were not having an easy time there. Situ Xin thought she would have Xia Yujie look into what exactly the Jia Family was up to after she returned. "Situ, Old Lu, you’re here too," Old Master Jia said with feigned warmth.
After the previous incident, Old Master Situ, although he didn’t interfere with the Jia Family when they were in their most difficult times, had no more regard for them whatsoever. When Old Master Jia greeted him, he merely kept a stern face and turned his head away.
Old Master Loo had never liked Old Master Jia and rarely spoke to him. Seeing Old Master Situ’s reaction and not wanting to make the atmosphere too awkward, he was about to speak when Situ Haotian beat him to it, "Uncle Jia, you’ve even brought your newly acknowledged granddaughter?"
Situ Haotian was still uncomfortable with his father preventing them from getting back at the Jia Family, so when he saw Old Master Jia and Liang Ruobing, he couldn’t help but take a jab at them.
"Yeah, I brought her to see the world," Old Master Jia managed to keep his composure and did not react to Situ Haotian’s mention of his illegitimate granddaughter, though his smile stiffened.
"It’s getting late. Let’s go," said Old Master Loo, aware that many people from the Situ family had issues with the Jia Family, but considering that they were there for Old Master Yu’s birthday banquet, making a scene would be disrespectful.
Knowing that Situ Xin and their group didn’t want to engage with them, Old Master Jia, with an observant eye, stepped aside and said while maintaining a smile, "You go ahead, we’re still waiting for someone and will follow shortly."
When Situ Xin and the group had just reached the entrance of the National Grand Hotel, Old Master Yu had already been informed. He had been waiting at the entrance for a while, and Old Master Xiao, who had arrived earlier, was also standing beside Old Master Yu, chatting while they waited.
When Situ Xin arrived, she saw this scene. "Yo, Old Yu, you’re too polite, waiting for us specially like this," Old Master Situ said, brightening after his previously somber demeanor.
"You wish. I didn’t come here to wait for you; you don’t have such a big face. I’m here for Xiao Xin," said Old Yu cheerfully, looking down at Situ Xin with a smile. "Xiao Xin, here you are. If you hadn’t come today, I would have gone straight to your place to fetch you. Ah, our Xiao Xin is dressed so beautifully today, just like a little princess."
