Chapter 124: Chapter 124 Baibai, Ginseng Fruit (1)_1

"So that’s what it was." Situ Xin nodded her head. "Let’s go out then."

After leaving the space, Situ Xin lay on the bed, but before she even had time to arrange anything, Baibai laid down beside her very obediently, and then said something that took Situ Xin by surprise, "Master, good night, sweet dreams."

"Ah, uh, Baibai, good night, sweet dreams." Situ Xin hadn’t expected the tiger to be so polite.

That night, or rather, the wee hours of the morning, both the person and the tiger slept especially soundly. If Situ Xin had been awake, she would have been amazed to find a satisfied expression on Baibai’s tiger face.

Early in the morning, Situ Xin got up. This must have been the earliest she’d woken up in years. She did this not because she was afraid her mom, Loo Yaxin, would come to her room and get scared by Baibai lying next to her, so she had to wake up before her mom came to get her out of bed.

"Baibai. Time to get up." Situ Xin, having washed up, came to rouse Baibai, who was still lying in bed asleep.

"Don’t wanna, let me sleep a bit more." Situ Xin watched Baibai’s tightly closed tiger eyes and listened to his words, finding the moment quite amusing. What a pair, a pet like its owner.

"Well, then I’m leaving, okay?" Situ Xin said with a smile, looking at the adorable sleeping form of Baibai.

"Don’t go, master, I’m getting up now." As soon as Baibai heard his master was about to leave him behind, it lost all desire to sleep and immediately opened its eyes and with a "swoosh," jumped into Situ Xin’s arms.

Situ Xin, carrying Baibai, ran downstairs, and even before she reached, she already started shouting, "Grandpa, Grandpa, Baby has something to ask you."

"Oh, why is our Baby up so early today? Did the sun rise from the west?" Old Master Situ, seated at the breakfast table and enjoying his meal, teased with a laugh at his beloved granddaughter, who announced her arrival before actually showing up.

"Heehee, yes, Baby really got up early today. I saw that Yaxin hadn’t gone to wake her up yet, but she got up by herself," said Old Madam Situ, standing up to prepare breakfast for Situ Xin.

"Baby came to ask you guys something, otherwise I wouldn’t have been willing to get up this early," Situ Xin said as she walked down the stairs, and Baibai in her arms, agreeing with his master’s words, nodded his head and added, "Yeah, sleeping is the most comfortable."

Situ Xin heard Baibai’s voice and then glanced at Old Master Situ sitting at the dining table. She was quite worried and whispered to Baibai, "Baibai, you can’t speak. If everyone finds out you can talk, that would be troublesome."

"Master, don’t worry, when Baibai speaks, only you can hear me. No one else can hear," Baibai said, looking very proud while gazing at Situ Xin.

Only after hearing this did Situ Xin breathe a sigh of relief. "Baby, what are you doing standing there mumbling to yourself? Come on down and have breakfast, your grandmother has made your favorite pancakes for you," Old Master Situ called out to Situ Xin, noticing she was still standing on the staircase, not coming down.

"Oh, I’m coming down now." Situ Xin, holding Baibai, had just reached the dining table when Old Master Situ noticed Baibai in her arms. He frowned and asked, "Baby, what is that? Where did it come from?"

Old Master Situ gazed intently at Baibai in Situ Xin’s arms, thinking to himself where the cat had come from; he hadn’t seen Baby holding a cat yesterday. His heart was in his throat; he was afraid that the cat could accidentally scratch his precious granddaughter. Since Baibai’s head was buried in Situ Xin’s chest, Old Master Situ didn’t see Baibai’s face and just saw its body, naturally assuming Baibai was just a pet cat.

"Oh, Grandfather, this is a little tiger my master gave to me. He said he was afraid I would get too lonely, so he brought it to keep me company," Situ Xin delivered the excuse she had come up with the day before. Anyway, she had used her nowhere-to-be-found master as an excuse more than once or twice, so one more time wouldn’t hurt.

"Oh, your master gave it to you. What, what did you just say?" Old Master Situ was still out of it, but when he finally snapped back to reality, he was entirely shocked. "What did you say your master gave you?" Old Master Situ excitedly stood up.

Just then, Situ Haotian was coming downstairs and saw his father looking like he had received a great shock. "Dad, what’s wrong?" But no one paid attention to his question; Old Master Situ was gazing unblinkingly at Baibai in Situ Xin’s arms.

Right after Old Master Situ asked, "What did your master give you?" Baibai became quite irritated and thrust its tiger head out from Situ Xin’s arms. It roared angrily a few times, "I’m not just some thing, I’m a Divine Beast."

Situ Xin, upon hearing Baibai’s words, silently stroked its fur, seeking to calm it down, and now she didn’t need to say anything more; her grandfather was very clear about what she was holding. Even Situ Haotian, who had heard Baibai’s tiger roar, ran down the stairs in astonishment. "Did I just hear a tiger roaring..." His words stopped short when he saw Baibai in Situ Xin’s arms. He swallowed any other words and simply stared straight at Baibai in her arms.

"Baby, is this a tiger? Did your master give you a tiger?" Old Master Situ finally came to his senses and said very seriously, "Baby, we cannot keep this tiger. This tiger is not like a cat or a dog; it can bite people." As soon as Old Master Situ thought of the tiger’s ferocity and of his beloved granddaughter’s safety, he became unsettled. In his heart, he complained, "What’s with Baby’s master, sending such a dangerous creature to Baby?"

"Grandfather, don’t worry, this Baibai, this little tiger, doesn’t bite and is very well-behaved. You should know that if Baibai bit people, my master wouldn’t have given it to me," Situ Xin quickly went over and acted coquettishly toward him, "Grandfather, just look how cute Baibai is and how obedient it is. Moreover, there’s another reason my master gave it to me— to protect my safety."

"How can it protect your safety when it’s so small?" Old Master Situ, looking at Baibai, which was the size of a pet cat, spoke dismissively. As soon as Old Master Situ finished speaking, Baibai became agitated; if Situ Xin hadn’t been continuously soothing it, Baibai would have transformed to show Old Master Situ right then.
