Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Rescue (2)_1

Their followers, after witnessing what Situ Xin was capable of, were one by one without any objections. Moreover, they knew that their only choice was to trust Situ Xin, and only through her could they escape this place.

"Let’s go then," Situ Xin led the way out first. The people behind her followed one after another. Because she was followed by others, Situ Xin could not use Qinggong, nor could she teleport. This made their pace much slower.

She directed the retreat along her chosen route while keeping an eye on the patrols nearby. Their escape was fraught with danger, and they had several close calls with the patrolmen. Luckily, Situ Xin’s senses were more acute than most, which allowed them to avoid detection.

It wasn’t until everyone had climbed over the wall and reached a safe place that they finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew, I didn’t think we’d make it out. I thought we were going to lose our lives back there," said the youngest soldier in the group, a hint of fear in his afterthought. Hearing his words, Situ Xin knew this person must have recently joined the team. He was a newcomer.

"Baby." Once at a safe location, Situ Haotian was about to ask Situ Xin how she had ended up in such a dangerous place alone, but Situ Xin still had things to do. She knew her uncle must be frantic by now. She gestured for Situ Haotian to wait and switched on her wireless earpiece.

"Hello." Situ Xin had barely spoken a word when Situ Haoran’s anxious voice came from the other side. "Baby, where are you? How are you? Are you okay?"

Hearing Situ Haoran’s anxious voice warmed Situ Xin’s heart. "I’m fine. And it’s not just me who’s fine; everyone is," said Situ Xin, glancing at Situ Haotian and Xiao Guobing, and spoke with a smile.

"What? What did you say?" Situ Haoran was clearly shocked by Situ Xin’s words.

"I said I’ve rescued everyone. Send a vehicle right away to the closest location I just mentioned," said Situ Xin, naming a place near their current location.

"Oh, okay, okay, I’ll see to it right away," Situ Haoran quickly got up to instruct his subordinates to find a vehicle, still incredulous.

After Situ Haoran and Situ Xin set out, Old Master Situ and the others had returned home. As they walked through the Situ Family gates, they saw the women of the household all sitting on the couch with troubled faces.

Old Madam Situ, upon hearing the footsteps, looked up to see Old Master Situ and the others return and anxiously asked, "Old Master, how are Haotian and Guobing?"

Old Master Situ tried to speak, but his words seemed to be choked in his throat, unable to come out. How could he tell her that their youngest son had been captured and both his eldest son and granddaughter had gone to rescue them, with slim chances of success?

Seeing Old Master Situ not saying a word, Old Madam Situ grew impatient. "Old Master, speak up, will you?" Old Madam Situ then noticed the absence of a particular small figure. "Right, where’s Baby? I remember she went with you to the military base."

After hearing Old Madam Situ’s words, the three old men exchanged glances before Old Master Situ finally spoke. "Haotian and Guobing have been captured, and Haoran has gone to rescue them. Baby went along with him."

"What?" As soon as Old Master Situ spoke, not only did Old Madam Situ’s eyes widen in shock, but the rest of the family rose from their seats in a hurry.

"Old Master, what are you saying? Baby went with Haoran? Where to?" Old Madam Situ’s body swayed slightly.

"Old Madam, please don’t panic. Take care not to harm yourself in your haste," Old Man Situ said, not daring to speak any further upon seeing her state.

Before returning home, Old Master Loo had anticipated the family’s reaction to hearing that Situ Xin had joined the mission. "Ah, Sister-in-law, don’t worry, everyone, please don’t panic. I swear to you, Baby won’t be in danger. You know the prowess of Baby’s master; could his disciples be anything less than superb?" Old Master Loo tried his best to comfort everyone.

"But Baby is just a child, how could she go to such dangerous places?" Loo Yaxin said, tears uncontrollably falling from her eyes. Situ Che, Situ Jin, Loo Jie, and Xiao Muli, having heard that Situ Xin had joined the mission, all clenched their fists. Their faces showed worry, with expressions changing between hope and despair. For the first time, they hated their current weakness, hating that they couldn’t protect that little girl and had let her risk her life.

This incident only strengthened the determination of the four youngsters to grow stronger.

"But right now, only Baby can save Haotian and the others," Old Master Loo finished his sentence, and the living room fell into silence.

Situ Xin, careful not to startle the snake by the grass, had deliberately chosen a place near the village when she informed Situ Haoran of the location. This place was far from the den of trouble, but it was still a distance from the village and seldom frequented by people.

Situ Haoran was very quick to act; upon receiving Situ Xin’s message, he immediately went down to arrange for a vehicle. Without notifying anyone, he drove a truck out himself.

Not long after Situ Xin and her group arrived, Situ Haoran got there. Getting out of the truck, he saw Situ Haotian and Xiao Guobing and couldn’t help but give them a fierce hug.

"Alright, enough mushiness, let’s hurry on out of here," Situ Xin urged. The area was still not completely safe.

"Okay, let’s go." After getting on the truck, Situ Xin took out a mobile phone she had obtained from Xia Yujie and started dialing a number.

"Baby, what are you doing?" Situ Haotian asked, puzzled by Situ Xin’s actions.

"Calling home. Everyone is very worried about you. So, I need to give them a call," Situ Xin said, pausing her dialing to turn and speak to Situ Haoran. "But don’t tell your superiors about rescuing everyone just yet. When I was in the den, I stumbled upon something that suggests that previous events, along with this one, are more than simple political vendettas against our families."

"Really, okay." After going through all of this, they no longer treated Situ Xin like an ordinary child. And Situ Haoran and the others were keen to know what Situ Xin had discovered in the den. But they also knew this was not the right time to inquire further.
