The Purgatory Calamity
Chapter 753 - 715: Fragment Land as the Body_1

Chapter 753: Chapter 715: Fragment Land as the Body_1

The Stone Eater flew forward.

That kind of emptiness and the Misty Sea, both filled with countless rocks making it incredibly challenging to navigate, immediately vanished without a trace at His command, "Follow me."

The Misty Sea was still the Misty Sea, the Fragment Land Group was still the Fragment Land Group, the Alien Gods were still Alien Gods, and Pang Jian was still Pang Jian.

Pang Jian instantly felt a sense of relief, as if the chains and shackles imprisoning him had been unlocked, and he had regained his freedom.

So he followed the Stone Eater, flying swiftly, curiously looking down at the pieces of Fragment Land they passed, while doubts began to surface in his heart.

He noticed that the Fragment Lands, varying in size and shape, were connected by streaks of ointment-like "bridges."

Looking at the Fragment Lands from above, and then into the distance, he discovered that the whole group seemed like a giant body that had been segmented.

Arms, legs, head, limbs, and torso, all had been carved into individual pieces, forming blocks of Fragment Land in shapes that were long, round, or angular.

It was as if an ancient deity of immense size made of stone lay in the void, divided into countless pieces.

An ancient, vast, and profound enigmatic atmosphere surged within all the Fragment Lands, making him feel the power of something boundless and extensive.

"The so-called Alien Spirits are beings of great size which have souls but no flesh and blood,"

The description of the Alien Spirits by the gods reappeared in Pang Jian’s mind.

A light of realization sprang into his eyes. Looking down at the Fragment Land Group, and then at the Stone Eater leading the way, he suddenly guessed the truth.

The entire Fragment Land Group was the body of the Stone Eater!

The true Stone Eater was a creature made up of numerous Fragment Lands, larger and vaster even than the Purgatory Continent!

Those ointment-like "bridges" connecting the Fragment Lands were likely the Stone Marrow within Its body, the outward manifestation of Its power, like the Spirit Veins of the Purgatory land.

This Stone Eater, like the Star Devourer, had a real body as vast as the stars, as large as a world!

"Human Race!"

On the barren, rocky Fragment Lands below, devoid of grass and buildings, deities from different tribes looked up at Pang Jian, seemingly surprised.

To them, a Human True God seemed like a rarity.

Fortunately, each Alien God from different tribes showed no evident malice nor intentions of hunting him.

Pang Jian had a thought and secretly expanded his Divine Consciousness, discreetly sensing their auras to determine the tier of their godhood.

Suddenly, in the midst of the Fragment Lands, an inexplicable tidal surge of Divine Consciousness rose!

"Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh!"

A sea of iridescent colors like that from a beautiful dream emerged right below Pang Jian.

Those gods, whether sitting, lying, or standing, seemed deeply captivated by the hues of iridescence within the depths of their eyes.

Their Divine Consciousness, their power to perceive the outside world, their Soul Energy, their God’s Thoughts, all flowed into this colorful brilliance.

Dozens of splendid lights, each a different color from various gods, tried to infuse themselves into this iridescent and magnificent sea.

The multitude of gods turned pale, their eyes filled with fear.

In the far distance, the static Netherworld Emissary, with his deep blue Soul Fire flickering intensely in his eye sockets, cried out in a lost voice, "The surging of the Ming Yu Soul Sea!"

In the Ming Prison, there was a Mysterious Soul Sea, rumored to be the birthplace of the Nether Tribe and their place of return after death.

One of the characteristics of the Ming Yu Soul Sea was that whenever its tides rose, it would draw in the Divine Consciousness of all nearby intelligent beings, incorporating them into the Sea of Souls.

When this happened, even the Netherworld Gods dared not approach the Soul Sea, lest they be sucked in and assimilated.

The Divine Consciousness spread by Pang Jian, glowing with iridescent brilliance, although different in color from the Ming Yu Soul Sea, had a similar effect.

"Only our chief’s Spiritual Soul possesses such wonder, he..."

The Netherworld Emissary felt an overwhelming fear.

In front of the Fragment Land Group, the now-stationary Stone Eater, its eyes rolling like spheres of stone, observed the disturbance caused by Pang Jian’s Divine Consciousness.

As the situation threatened to spiral out of control, and a High God awoke from a deep slumber, the Stone Eater raised a hand and pressed down.

"Boom!"

A gray wave of light, emanating from the Fragment Land rocks, dispelled the iridescent brilliance, severed all beams trying to flow into it, and shocked Pang Jian into a forceful awakening.

Pang Jian slightly trembled, and promptly retracted his spread Divine Consciousness.

Thousands of delicate iridescent lights, like birds returning to their cage, retreated into his Immortal Primordial Spirit, and with a start, he knew the recent disturbance was the "Ming Prison Soul Bee’s" ability to devour the Divine Consciousness of Alien Gods from Outer Space.

Back then, it was the Bee Insect that, within the puppet bodies of those Alien Gods, sipped wisps of Divine Consciousness, excreting golden honey.

In the end, he used it to solidify many golden streams of Divine Consciousness, allowing him to forge his unique golden Spiritual Soul with three thousand special golden God’s Thoughts.

Once the special soul merged with Fate, he attained his present Immortal Primordial Spirit.

In this Fragment Land Group, the Divine Consciousness he casually spread seemed strangely more potent than in other places, unsettling many gods from the Outer Realm.

Harboring doubts, and seeing the Stone Eater staring at him, he said, "Just now..."

"I merely amplified your power a bit."

The Stone Eater sank from the sky, heading towards a heart-shaped fragment of land, and signaled for Pang Jian to follow.

With a careful look, Pang Jian knew that the heart-shaped fragment was the "heart" of the entire Fragment Land Group and also where the true heart of the Star Devourer resided. No Alien Gods from the Outer Realm were stationed there.

In the beginning, the very Stone Eater before him had also emerged from a rift in the heart-shaped fragment of land.

"Bang!"

Pang Jian stepped onto the rocky ground and stood on the smooth, jade-like surface as if treading on jade.

The scale of the entire heart-shaped fragment was slightly smaller than that of Panshi Fragment Land, with only the Stone Eater and the two of them as living beings.

Apart from them, there were no insects, no plants, no trees—nothing at all.

The Stone Eater sat down abruptly on the vacant and level jade stone ground and immediately asked, "Who is Pang Qi to you?"

A buzzing noise filled Pang Jian’s mind.

By now he had already known that his father, once a Realm God of a bygone era, might have had many different identities and names in Purgatory and the outside world.

However, the only name he knew was Pang Qi.

The true entity of the Stone Eater, a vast expanse of fragment land floating near the Ming Yu Soul Sea, unexpectedly mentioned the name Pang Qi, leaving Pang Jian, who had prepared various explanations en route, utterly stunned.

The opposite party was straying far from the norm.

"Because you look like him, and you could stir up such Divine Sense tides, I guessed you are his child." The Stone Eater’s stony face suddenly revealed an extremely complex expression.

At this moment, the rocks on its face turned into soft jade, transforming with its mood.

"The fact that your Spiritual Soul is capable of stirring tides similar to the Ming Yu Sea of Souls is something Pang Qi couldn’t have given you!" the Stone Eater said, bursting into rage.

Its repressed and irate voice caused terrifying roars to emanate from the depths beneath the heart-shaped fragment of land.

"It was Pang Qi who killed your mother! The fact that I could leave the Netherworld Prison, survive the hunts of numerous Alien Gods from Outer Space, and eventually become a Twelfth Level Alien Spirit, thus attaining my current transcendent status, was all thanks to your mother!"

"Pang Qi deserves to die a thousand times over! Everyone from the Human Race coming from Purgatory deserves to die!"

"Whir! Whirr!"

The numerous fragments that composed its massive body emitted strange sounds while twisting on their gummy "bridges" connecting the fragments.

The brilliance emitted by the fragments became a hundred times more intense than before, purging the dense Mysterious Fog from the void space.

All the God Spirits on those fragments were shocked by this tremendous change, each one hovering above the fragments, looking towards the heart-shaped land, wanting to see what had happened.

But their vision was obstructed by the murky brilliance of the heart-shaped fragment, with not a single one able to peer inside.

The Netherworld emissaries stationed far away, who had not entered any fragment, were equally shocked by the commotion.

"He had assured me that Pang Jian would be alive!" the Netherworld emissary screamed.

But for all their screaming, this Netherworld God, who had entrusted its Primordial Spirit in the bones of Fan Di, dared not rashly intrude to demand an explanation while the Stone Eater was furious.

Being a relatively new Netherworld God, it wasn’t privy to the deep connections between the Stone Eater and the Netherworld Prison, but it was clear that the Stone Eater was a being even their leader had to handle with caution.

A Netherworld God designated by the Bronze-faced God had been killed by the Stone Eater without any apparent reason, and though the leader was dissatisfied, he temporarily suppressed those feelings.

If any other God Spirit, any other kind of Different Kinds, dared to harm a Netherworld God near the Netherworld Prison, would the leader allow them to live?

Knowing the power of the Stone Eater, this very Netherworld God did not dare to delve further while the Stone Eater was enraged.

If one Netherworld God’s death had not incited a major confrontation, then the death of the second probably wouldn’t either.

Compared to the failure of the mission, its own life and death were of greater importance!

...

Above the heart-shaped Fragment Land, the Stone Eater’s rage affected all the fragments.

Just as the fragments were trembling, a storm was also rising in Pang Jian’s heart!

Ever since he was old enough to remember, his father only told him his mother had died of illness, without sharing many details about her.

He had always thought his mother was an ordinary woman from a town in the Northern Qi Fragment Land, who had fallen in love and married his father during his reclusion there.

Only when he embarked on the path of cultivation, left Northern Qi Fragment Land, and began to make a name for himself in the various worlds of Purgatory, did he begin to suspect his father’s identity due to the peculiar nature of a bronze plaque.

However, he had never given much thought to his mother’s side.

The Stone Eater before him, being a Twelfth Level Alien Spirit and an existence even High Gods struggled to deal with, claimed that it was with his mother’s help that it managed to leave the Netherworld Prison.

Being an Alien Spirit, its survival to the present day and becoming a Twelfth Level Alien Spirit, it claimed, was also thanks to his mother!

Pang Jian was so stunned by the information revealed by the Stone Eater that it left him dizzy and disoriented for a long time, unable to recover.

"Long, long ago, your father, carrying the World Tree, and your mother, bringing me along, met in the Misty Sea," the Stone Eater said to Pang Jian, calming his turbulent emotions. "It was a meeting between Realm Gods, and I was one of the participants."
