The Purgatory Calamity
Chapter 697 - 659: The Death of Fan Di_1

Chapter 697: Chapter 659: The Death of Fan Di_1

Pang Jian gladly accepted.

The five mightiest beings of the Thunder Prison posed little threat in his eyes.

After testing the strength of two Thunder Clan warriors, he felt that with the Thunder Pond and the Five-Thunder Bombardment in hand, plus the Divine Artifact "Ghost Firefly."

His Immortal Primordial Spirit might not be a match for all five of them working together, yet if he focused solely on escaping the Thunder Prison, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Especially since his True Body, far away in Purgatory, was on the verge of a qualitative leap that would firmly establish his status as a Middle-level God.

With the "Purgatory Gate" on him, should his Immortal Primordial Spirit truly run into trouble, his True Body could rush here to join the battle in a short time.

After slaying Youkui, his courage had greatly swelled, and ordinary Middle-level Gods were beneath his notice, let alone these beings who had not yet escaped the Thunder Prison and could only be considered Low-rank Gods.

So, accompanied by the five mightiest beings of the Thunder Prison, Pang Jian stepped out from the Mysterious Fog with composure.

A bright, clear full moon, accompanied by twinkling stars, existed outside the Thunder Prison in the Star River.

Gazing at the moon, Pang Jian’s vision seemed to pierce through the Thunder Prison’s "Heaven Forbidden," reaching inside the moon and appearing to see Ying Yue’s Moon Temple.

Unlike the Dark Prison, the Thunder Prison was much better lit, as it was illuminated by the moon.

"This cold moon remains unchanged forever. We, the beings of the Thunder Prison, can see the moon and the stars, but alas, the sun eludes us," the unicorn explained.

Pang Jian thought for a moment and said, "Your Thunder Prison, like the Dark Prison, is in a static state."

"There are worlds of the ’prison’ that are active?" the silent giant serpent exclaimed in surprise.

"Purgatory is constantly moving within the Mysterious Fog, where one can see the sun, the moon, and the stars, and distinguish between day and night," Pang Jian said.

Longing filled the giant serpent’s Demon Pupils, "That truly sounds like a place to yearn for."

The unicorn added, "Only such a magical place could give rise to the Human Race and Other Kinds, bringing forth so many powerful beings that shine in the Outer Star River."

Clearly, they had heard the tales of the Human Race.

As they spoke, Pang Jian surveyed the lightning that could be seen everywhere in the void and on the ground, as well as the structural layers of the realm.

The Thunder Prison had three layers.

The third layer contained nine lands, the second six, and the first three.

The size of these lands was roughly equivalent to that of Purgatory, and there were also some scattered Fragment Lands, inhabited by the most peculiar races.

Colorful lightning leapt through the void, darting between different lands and Fragment Lands, making the creatures of this world desperately avoid it.

To most beings, thunder and lightning were indeed a disaster.

Pang Jian spread out his Divine Sense to perceive, and upon inquiring with his powerful companions nearby, he learned that in the cities and nations where Wisdom Races gathered, there were various arrays and barriers used to isolate from thunder and lightning.

Those violent and disordered bolts of lightning, tumultuous in every corner of the Thunder Prison’s space, varied in strength—some being weaker, others terrifyingly powerful.

Many comrades and friends of the five mightiest beings of the Thunder Prison had perished to these chaotic bolts of lightning.

Even they, before advancing to the tenth level of Bloodline, had been struck by Thunderous Lightning multiple times, suffering tremendously.

Even now, there were still bolts of lightning that they feared, with the power to severely injure or even strike them dead.

"I’m going to have a look at the bottom of the Thunder Prison."

Pang Jian sped down to the bottom layer of the Thunder Prison.

"Be careful! At the very bottom of the Thunder Prison, there is lightning that even we fear!" the unicorn warned.

"Understood."

With his Primordial Spirit Body, Pang Jian conjured a protective Firm Cover around himself.

"Shi-La! Shi-Shi!"

As he fell towards the bottom of the Thunder Prison, indeed, lightning of various colors shot at him, sometimes his head colliding with the flash above.

The vast majority of lightning was merely a tickle to him, unable to harm him in the slightest.

In one hand he held the Thunder Pond, and in the other the Five-Thunders Bombardment, even taking the opportunity to absorb some of the splattering lightning.

He continued to sink lower.

Unlike Purgatory, at the very bottom of Thunder Prison, there is no endless darkness, no extreme filth alien power.

The entire Thunder Prison is composed of evenly distributed energy, encompassing the forces of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, Thunder, Ice, as well as the Moon and the Stars.

There is no pure, unattributed nature’s spiritual energy, nor any source of filth that contains darkness, destruction, obliteration, or the corrosive and highly toxic breath of evil.

It feels more like a civilized star nation deep beyond the sky.

"Boom!"

A clap of thunder erupted, followed by thousands of lightning bolts striking down.

Sensing the Thunderbolt that posed a slight threat to him, he brought out the Thunder Pond in his hand and tried to collect it with the Silver-white Temple.

On the walls of the Thunder Pond, the Taoist runes branded by the Thunder God stealthily surged, dispersing the aura of the Great Tao from the most powerful beings among the thunder gods.

The shocking Thunderous Lightning that alarmed the unicorn and the Divine Bird Vermilion Bird was immediately attracted to the Thunder Pond and became exceedingly tame, merging one by one into the temple within the Thunder Pond.

Pang Jian gave a faint smile and simply dispelled the protective Firm Cover.

He had figured it out; as long as he had the Thunder Pond created by the Thunder God in his possession, he could run rampant in Thunder Prison.

Two level ten Thunder Clan warriors, three level ten Demon Gods, the Thunderous Lightning that struck fear into them, were nothing but a source of core energy for the Thunder Pond crafted by the Thunder God!

After a moment, Pang Jian, holding the Thunder Pond, reached the bottommost layer of Thunder Prison.

Beneath the bottom layer was a Misty Sea, where intense flashes of lightning still roamed and leaped, and beyond that was... the Boundary Wall.

"Swoosh!"

Pang Jian crossed the Boundary Wall with the Thunder Pond in hand.

Beyond the Boundary Wall lay the Mysterious Fog, something he was all too familiar with.

In the endless Mysterious Fog, it felt like coming home. His Divine Consciousness was not restricted by the Mysterious Fog, and it even experienced a certain degree of enhancement.

Naturally, he subconsciously spread his Divine Sense in all directions.

"Fan Di!"

An impressively large skeleton suddenly came into his view.

Fan Di, who had bid him farewell outside the Boundary Wall of Purgatory, whom he persuaded to leave the Mysterious Fog early and return to the Ancient Demon World, had died in the Mysterious Fog somewhere beneath Thunder Prison.

Backed with wings, like a lion and like a tiger, the Thunder God Fan Di appeared just as when Pang Jian had first met him, devoid of flesh and viscera.

Only a grey-white skeleton remained.

The hollow sockets of his eyes no longer birthed flashes of lightning, nor was there a single trace of soul dissipating.

He was clearly dead.

After wandering alone in the Mysterious Fog for so many years, longing to find Thunder Prison and the relics of the Thunder God, corroded by the Mysterious Fog for so long, he ended up as nothing but a skeleton.

He didn’t die like that.

But after he regained his Divine Power and reconstituted his flesh and bones, he died beneath the land of Thunder Prison.

He definitely did not die a natural death.

Someone far more powerful than him, a God Spirit, must have encountered him in the Mysterious Fog and targeted him for elimination.

Who could it be?

Pang Jian’s Divine Consciousness flew through the Misty Sea, with Fan Di at its center, spreading in all directions, quickly reaching faraway places.

He didn’t see anything unusual, but he instinctively felt something was wrong.

Fan Di was a Thunder God but also a Demon God.

His skeletal body also held great value; why didn’t the being that killed him take his demon bones as well?

Is it fishing? Or are they planning to come back for it later?
