Chapter 271: 271 My lord, aren’t you tired of staring at me like that? (Second update)
Li Xianyun’s small face turned hot at his words; Yelu Yan’s implication was all too clear.
Having not seen him for several days, Yelu Yan had significantly changed, appearing to have mastered seduction on his own, speaking so flirtatiously it could break one’s legs.
Yelu Yan held her slender, breakable waist with one hand while the other cradled her palm-sized small face, kissing her inch by inch as if she were a treasure too precious to exist.
In Yelu Yan’s heart, no one, nothing, and no affair could compare to his woman.
While kissing her, he breathed out like silk and asked, with vague articulation, "Has Xianxian missed her husband?"
Li Xianyun could hardly bear Yelu Yan’s way of speaking, the ambiguity of his tone leaving much to desire, adding several notes of sentiment to his words.
She half-closed her eyes and let out a soft "Mm," obedient and cute, nothing like the reports from the secret agents.
In the mouths of the secret agents, Li Xianyun was calm and composed in her strategy, brave and resourceful, and somewhat eccentric and whimsical.
Even the experienced secret agents praised her highly.
The woman before him, however, was utterly different: demure and endearing, seductive as silk, she effortlessly plucked at his heartstrings.
Yelu Yan lightly kissed her soft, tender cheeks, moving to her soft, rosy lips, kissing and grazing them lightly, "How have you been missing me?"
Li Xianyun couldn’t help but laugh softly, her long, dense eyelashes trembling slightly with mirth, her smile blooming as beautifully as flowers, outshining all the world’s colors.
Missing was just missing, what more was there to think about?
What an illogical question.
Yelu Yan pinched the soft flesh on her cheeks with a smile and gazed at her intently, "Tell me about it."
Li Xianyun knew very well how to wield conversation tactics; when unsure of a response, the best strategy was to deflect the assault, as if kicking a ball back in a game of cuju.
She stretched out her soft arms, wrapping them around his broad neck, her fingers touching the hard armor on his body.
Yelu Yan’s tall and sturdy body was truly suited for armor, rendering him imposing and inviolable, an air of sanctity about him.
Her man was handsome, a fact Li Xianyun was aware of, but she hadn’t expected him to exude such masculine charm clothed in military attire; he fit her aesthetics perfectly, which was really quite rare.
Li Xianyun embraced his neck, indescribably tender and soft.
The sight of such a coquettish and playful woman could melt even a heart made of ice.
And what about Yelu Yan’s heart, which thawed after thirty years of frost now beat with surging spring emotions?
If it weren’t for the thick armor, Yelu Yan truly wished to take her then and there, to tease her thoroughly.
Li Xianyun playfully shook her arms, looking at Yelu Yan with a teasing smile and sweet dimples, "My lord, have you missed me?"
"Is there a need to ask?"
"Then how have you missed me?"
From the moment Li Xianyun asked, Yelu Yan knew she had been waiting here for him.
"My heart, my body, not for a moment have they stopped thinking of you, especially during midnight’s dreams, when I thought you were beside me. Reaching out to embrace you, I found only emptiness by my side, and it was then I realized that you hadn’t returned."
Just when Li Xianyun was about to scold him as a "Flirtatious Man" for saying "my body has not for a moment stopped thinking of you," the rest of his words made her pity him instead.
She raised her delicate hands to cup Yelu Yan’s handsome cheeks, fondly kneading them, "Why are you so pitiable?"
"This husband is not pitiable at all, but it’s you who has lost weight," he replied.
The journey had been rough, not to mention the constant vigilance against assassination attempts—it must have been hard on her.
How could someone of her delicate skin and tender flesh endure that?
Li Xianyun raised her hand to rub her own little face and said with a cute smile, "Really? It’s still as plump as before."
Baby fat often makes one look younger, but being perpetually youthful can be inconvenient in getting things done.
When she first started to use the money from treating patients to establish Ji Shi Tang, her credibility suffered due to her baby-faced appearance.
Ultimately, she chose to present herself in disguise, which she was quite happy with, as it meant Murong Ce would not trouble Ji Shi Tang.
Yelu Yan bowed his head, softly kissing her face, his hands becoming mischievous, "Apart from here, where else is plump on you?"
Li Xianyun’s face instantly reddened to the base of her neck, her head felt as if it were booming, and she grabbed his mischievous hand with her small one, her voice trembling as she said, "Husband."
The plea for mercy was clear.
Yelu Yan watched her with a mischievous smile, then suddenly buried his head into her.
Li Xianyun was frightened, hurriedly trying to scoot back, but there was only the carriage wall behind her, nowhere to hide, which only made her sit up even straighter.
This, of course, worked to someone’s advantage.
Yelu Yan rubbed his handsome cheek against her, placing his hand on the clothing at her neckline.
Li Xianyun knew exactly what he wanted to do, so she placed her small hand on his rough one, "Husband, wait until we return to the Imperial Palace and after I’ve taken a bath, then I will give it to you..."
Eat.
She felt too embarrassed to say that last word, so Li Xianyun promptly stopped herself.
During these seven or eight days on the road, she had been perpetually on edge, and even while staying in inns, she dared not take a bath, fearing accidents or being seen by others.
Li Xianyun was accustomed to bathing daily; otherwise, she couldn’t sleep.
Going seven or eight days without a bath was for her an exceedingly drawn-out ordeal.
Yelu Yan, with his head buried, mumbled, "No, your husband wants it now."
Li Xianyun had no choice but to cradle his head, coaxing him, "Husband, you are always so obedient."
She would coax Nannan and Junjun just like this, and now she was using the same tactic on her man.
Yelu Yan shook his head.
Summer clothing was thin, and the mere two layers of soft fabric could not stop Yelu Yan’s hands from causing mischief through her clothes.
He gently bit down.
Li Xianyun let out a soft "hiss," her beautiful brows slightly furrowed, her grip tightening on the head she was holding, exhaling a fragrance, "Husband."
The man chuckled under his breath, seeming quite pleased with himself.
...
Yelu Yan knew that Li Xianyun was very decisive. If she hesitated between wanting and not wanting, he could persuade her, and Li Xianyun would give in.
But if she was determined not to, no amount of talking or persuasion would make a difference.
Li Xianyun insisted it could only happen after a bath, and no amount of his teasing or cajoling was of any use.
Yelu Yan had no choice but to give up, holding her in his arms, only wishing the carriage to the Imperial Palace could go faster, and faster still.
Li Xianyun sat sideways on Yelu Yan’s lap, resting her small head on his broad, sturdy shoulder.
Her little face was flushed, her breath hot, all thanks to this man.
Yelu Yan looked down at her, as if he could never get enough.
Li Xianyun glanced up at him and smiled, "Husband, aren’t you tired of watching me like this all the time?"
"Not tired, what’s this? I could be more tired, but you won’t allow it," he replied.
Li Xianyun gave him a sideways glance, "Speak properly."
Yelu Yan looked at her, laughing quite joyfully.
Li Xianyun had the habits of a kitten; she always liked to play with something when she was with him.
Sometimes she played with his lapel, or caressed his thinly-bearded chin, or toyed with his rough, yet long and handsome fingers.
Now, having nothing better to do, she played with his big hand.
His hand was very large, about twice the size of her little palms.
Li Xianyun placed her small hand in his palm, continuously comparing the size.
Yelu Yan found this amusing and kissed the top of her head, "Stop comparing, no matter how much you compare, your hands will never be as big as your husband’s."
