Chapter 29: Chapter 29 He Doesn’t Come Home at Night
"The power of the Yan Family is far scarier than you imagine, be careful." Ye Moran said lightly.
"Thank you for the warning." Mu Yiliang smiled faintly and reached to open the car door.
"Let me drive you back." Ye Moran stopped her, "It’s not a good time to get a cab now. Even if you’ve started to dislike me, I still can’t bear to see you standing on the roadside, freezing."
Mu Yiliang hesitated for a moment and withdrew her hand, "Thank you, then."
She just wanted to get home quickly.
"Address?" The man got out of the car and went to the driver’s seat.
"I don’t believe you don’t know." Mu Yiliang snorted lightly.
Ye Moran chuckled softly, did not ask further, started the car, and indeed headed in the right direction.
"You came out at night; won’t your husband notice?" Ye Moran asked while driving, looking rather cheerful as he chatted with her.
"I’ll say it again, it’s! None! Of! Your! Business!" Mu Yiliang said word by word.
Ye Moran laughed, "Yiliang, there’s no need for you to deliberately distance yourself from me, right? After all, we’ve known each other for so many years."
"Hmm, indeed, we’ve known each other for many years." Mu Yiliang curled her lips, "But we are not friends, never were."
The man seemed to pause for a moment.
After a long while, he said softly, "You’re right. I never considered you a friend."
Mu Yiliang laughed self-deprecatingly. That’s right, this man probably only saw her as a ridiculous admirer, using her to the limit.
The rest of the journey was unusually quiet for both of them.
After reaching the destination, Mu Yiliang got out of the car and had no intention of saying goodbye to the man. However, Ye Moran stepped out of the car, watching her leave.
"Take care." His voice floated along with the breeze, quickly dissipating into the air.
Mu Yiliang’s steps did not falter, as if she had not heard his words at all.
She could feel the man’s gaze trailing her.
Mu Yiliang suddenly realized that after she stopped showing affection towards this man, he instead seemed to have become a bit more reluctant to part.
Men, truly deplorable.
She thought with a smile, walked inside, and cut off Ye Moran’s gaze entirely outside.
The vast villa had only her.
After showering and putting on makeup, she pulled up the surveillance footage of the villa, erased the record of her leaving, and only after completing this did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Every time she went out to secretly meet Yan Sijue, while thrilling, the risk was also considerable. If Yan Sijue ever found out, he might not do anything to her, but her freedom would undoubtedly be restricted.
Not to mention Ye Moran always watching greedily.
This was not a long-term solution, she needed to make plans early. Mu Yiliang thought with a furrowed brow.
At this moment, suddenly there was the sound of the door opening downstairs.
Mu Yiliang was slightly startled!
The light in her room was still on; if the person who entered was Yan Sijue, he surely must have seen it, turning off the light now would just make her seem guilty.
So she simply walked out of the room.
Sure enough, it was Yan Sijue who had returned.
Seeing her, he raised an eyebrow in surprise, "You’re not asleep yet?"
"I... I’ve been having trouble sleeping..." Mu Yiliang put on a surprised look, "You’re back? Work must be exhausting, right? Let me make some late-night snacks for you!"
"No need." Yan Sijue’s expression quickly turned cold.
Was it because of his overnight absence that caused her insomnia?
Such infatuation and deep affection did not move Yan Sijue in the slightest, instead adding a hint of irritation to his heart.
