"Sit down quickly, have a couple of drinks, have a couple of drinks!" Yi Qian picked off some lean meat from a skewer of lamb and placed it in Yi Xihuan’s plate, tossing out a sentence without even looking up.

Li Qingshen shook his head lightly and said, "I really have something urgent. I’ll treat you next time as an apology."

Then, he turned and left.

He drove off, returning to the city center.

Ling Momo’s great-grandfather lived in the suburban area of City X. Ling Momo rented a studio apartment that was a bit old. Li Qingshen had checked her address, so he went directly to Ling Momo’s front door, raised his hand, and knocked, but no one answered. Li Qingshen didn’t have a key, and the door was a security door that he couldn’t kick down. Thinking that the landlord lived downstairs, he simply went down and knocked on the door of Ling Momo’s landlord.

A middle-aged woman opened the door, as if she had never seen someone as handsome as Li Qingshen. She stuttered a bit while speaking, "Sir, may I ask who you’re looking for?"

Li Qingshen spoke calmly, "I’m a friend of Ling Momo."

"Oh, Momo! Are you Momo’s boyfriend?" The middle-aged woman smiled suggestively, thinking that Li Qingshen had come to the wrong floor, and pointed upward, "She lives upstairs, you’ve come to the wrong place."

"I know," Li Qingshen nodded. "She’s sick and might have fainted. I’m here to get her door key from you."

"Is that so!" The middle-aged woman suddenly nodded in realization, "Just wait here a moment." Then she turned around, went inside, and soon came back out with a bunch of keys, "I’ll go upstairs with you to open the door."

Li Qingshen said, "Thank you," and without further conversation, the middle-aged woman was very enthusiastic and kept talking, "I always said Momo was so pretty, how could she not have a boyfriend? So it turns out her boyfriend is this handsome!"

Li Qingshen didn’t make a sound to explain.

The middle-aged woman opened the door; the room was small, with a living room and a bedroom. Li Qingshen quickly headed to the bedroom, pushed the door open, and saw Ling Momo lying on the bed, her face pale and her body trembling.

Li Qingshen stepped forward, extended his hand, and felt her forehead, which was burning hot.

Li Qingshen frowned, took out his wallet, and pulled out some cash to hand to the landlady, "I’m not familiar with this area, could you please help me get a local doctor to come over?"

The landlady immediately agreed, took the money, and hurried to do as asked.

Li Qingshen first went to the bathroom, took a towel, drenched it in cold water, wrung it out, folded it into a long strip as he walked, and placed it on Ling Momo’s forehead, then he turned off the air conditioning in the room.

The landlady quickly brought a doctor, who gave Ling Momo an injection and also took out some medicine for Li Qingshen to feed her.

The landlady hurried into the kitchen, poured a glass of cool boiled water, brought it back to the bedroom, and handed it to Li Qingshen.

Ling Momo was so feverish that she was unconscious. Li Qingshen put the medicine in her mouth and poured water, but she wouldn’t swallow, even spitting it out.

Li Qingshen frowned again, tried to feed her once more, but Ling Momo spat it out again.

"How can this work? Why does she keep spitting it out!" The landlady said anxiously.

"She has a serious fever, that’s why I gave her the injection and medicine. It’s okay if she can’t take the medicine; she’ll just take longer to get better. Once she regains consciousness, she can take the medicine then," the doctor said simply.

Hearing the doctor’s words, Li Qingshen still frowned, watching Ling Momo for a while before reaching out to take a few more pills.
