After dinner, Su Chen happened to call, asking if they had time to drive to the resort and take a drive. Bao Chongchong and Qin Sheng also felt bored, so they agreed and enthusiastically invited Yi Qian and Yi Xihuan as well.

Normally, everyone was busy with their own things, but now it was rare to gather together, so no one refused, and they drove to the resort.

The resort was private property owned by Baodi Group, comprising a purchased sea area, along with a large villa and a golf course built along the shoreline.

A yacht and a submarine were moored on the sea.

The weather was great today, and the sea water was warm. Qin Sheng and Su Chen went swimming in the sea while Bao Chongchong and Yi Xihuan, afraid of getting tanned, sat on the villa’s terrace, drinking and chatting. Yi Qian sat beside them, holding a report, seriously reading it, occasionally raising his head to stare softly at Yi Xihuan, a smile lingering on his lips.

Li Qingshen carried a cup of tea, glancing at his phone from time to time, but there were no messages from Ling Momo. He just stared at the endless sea, lost in thought.

On the twenty-third glance at his phone, Li Qingshen couldn’t resist and sent another message.

Still no reply.

After Qin Sheng and Su Chen returned from the sea, Bao Chongchong suggested playing mahjong. Su Chen picked up a call from a beauty, walked aside, and chatted on the phone in a tender and intimate voice, causing Qin Sheng to feel nauseated and push away the mahjong table.

Yi Xihuan didn’t know how to play, so Yi Qian offered to teach her, and the two paired up. They joined Qin Sheng and Bao Chongchong, still one person short, but Li Qingshen joined in to keep everyone’s spirits up.

Throughout the game, Li Qingshen felt irritable, continuously losing, which only worsened his mood. Just as he was about to quit, his phone rang. He quickly checked it; it was a message from Ling Momo saying she had caught a cold. He immediately replied, "Is it serious?"

However, she didn’t reply for a long time, making Li Qingshen increasingly worried, which led him to be somewhat dispirited while everyone else barbecued by the sea at night.

At eight o’clock, Li Qingshen couldn’t stand it any longer and stepped aside to call Ling Momo.

After several rings, Ling Momo answered the call without speaking, her breathing a bit rapid.

Li Qingshen said nothing, and through the phone, the voices of Qin Sheng and Su Chen carried over.

Li Qingshen held the phone, hearing moans through it, soon furrowed his eyebrows, and called out Ling Momo’s name, only to be met with silence again.

After a few seconds, Li Qingshen quickly hung up, turned around, walked back to the dining table, grabbed the car keys, and said indifferently, "I have something to take care of, heading back to the city now."

"Qingshen, weren’t we planning to stay overnight?" Bao Chongchong asked while holding a skewer of lamb, her words muffled.

"Yeah, Qingshen, what could be so urgent? Let’s all leave together tomorrow!" Su Chen turned to look at Li Qingshen, said a word, then turned back to gesture towards Qin Sheng’s drink, saying, "Asheng, finish it, finish it!"

Qin Sheng raised his glass and drank it all in one go, then called out to Li Qingshen, "What are you leaving for? We’ve finally come together!"

"Come on, sit down, have a couple of drinks!" Yi Qian picked some lean meat from a skewer, placed it on Yi Xihuan’s plate without looking up, and nonchalantly dropped a comment.
