Chapter 88: The Shocked Evelyn
Chapter 88: The Shocked Evelyn
There was panic amongst the people in the street as they looked at the giant creature approaching them. They soon ran to the far-away corner where they thought they were safe.
Amidst this running, a child fell on the road and his mother when realized this called out to him in a scared voice.
She was about to go and bring him to herself when she saw the giant creature landing just in front of the child.
Her body trembled and her face went pale but she ran faster and covered the child tightly in her arms. If the giant creature wanted to eat someone then she could offer herself but her child should stay alive.
However, Lavo didn’t even look at the child fallen on the floor. It was just when the child continued to cry, he growled in annoyance and Regan was also frowning hearing the loud cries. It could be seen very clearly that the master and pet both of them didn’t like the child cries.
Lavo’s growl made people tremble in fear. Regan could perhaps see this. He glanced at the creature and said
"Go. I will find you near the borders."
Lavo growled again before he flew away.
People sighed in relief when the giant creature was no longer there and the mother immediately ran to her child.
Evelyn couldn’t focus on all this. The thing that captured her sole attention was the shop in front of her eyes. Her face was tremendously pale as she wondered what they were doing here.
The bitter memories of the past were still afresh in her mind.
But when she realized that they were in Zamorin, a shiver went down her spine.
Somehow she turned to look at Regan and asked in an abnormally low voice.
"Your Highness, what are we doing here?"
Regan turned to look at her. He frowned when he saw her pale face. The next moment, he wanted to step forward and comfort her and know what she was thinking however he soon controlled himself.
It would be good if he stayed away from her. He needed to learn it. Before Evelyn, he was living well so it should not be that difficult.
Thinking this, Regan maintained his calm and cold expression and said
"You will know soon."
Evelyn however didn’t get any comfort from this answer. Her throat was dry and her legs were slightly trembling inside her dress. Her open dress which was long also hid it very well.
She just wanted to run away. It had been hard to go away from this horrible place. She didn’t want to come here again. Zamorin was the most horrible nightmare of her life.
"Come."
She heard the prince say as he stepped forward but Evelyn couldn’t move her legs at all no matter how much she wanted. Regan realized that she was not following him and turned around to look at her.
Seeing her standing at the same place and shaking her head to herself, Regan sighed in impatience. Could she not believe him once? Had he ever harmed her that she was fearing so much to accompany him?
Thinking this, he stepped towards her. The next moment, he held her hand and dragged her towards the shop.
The shop owner had also seen the giant creature. The workers of his shop and he had hid inside the shop and only dared to come out when they realized that the creature was gone.
However, the next moment they saw the two people who had just come from that giant creature walking towards the shop.
The shop owner looked at the two people with narrowed eyes. When he saw the man walking in front, his eyes widened slightly.
Seeing the blue cape which had the sign of the Royal Palace of Alfaros and a silver mask, he was certain that the man was the youngest prince of Alfaros.
How could he not recognize him? The soldiers who were left alive in the war had told many things about this prince. All around Zamorin were rumors regarding Prince Regan of Alfaros being a ruthless and dangerous prince.
It was this prince who with the eldest prince of Alfaros destroyed their whole army of Zamorin.
Now the same prince was walking towards his shop.
The shop owner looked as if he was about to cry but then he suddenly straightened his back as he thought something else.
It could also be possible that the prince was here for something else. After all, he had not done anything against the prince as long as he could remember.
Could it be that the prince was here because he wanted some slaves from his shop? Once this thought came the shop owner’s eyes brightened. They almost shone with gold and silver he could receive if he presented some good slaves to the prince.
By the time he was finished thinking all this, Regan was standing in front of him. Seeing this, the shop owner immediately greeted him.
"Your Highness, If this servant is not mistaken then Your Highness is Prince Regan from Alfaros."
Regan’s red eyes looked at the shop owner coldly and he never answered the shop owner’s question. The shop owner swallowed and felt that he asked a very stupid question. Still, he grinned nervously and said
"What does Your Highness wants from this servant?"
Regan pulled Evelyn who was hiding behind him to the front and said coldly
"Open the band on her wrist."
It was only then the shop owner looked at the girl. Hearing the prince’s words, his eyes went to Evelyn’s wrist and they narrowed.
"Slave girl, were you sold here?"
He asked Evelyn. Every day many people were sold and bought from his shop and he couldn’t remember them just from their faces so it was difficult for him to recognize Evelyn.
On the other hand, Evelyn looked completely stupefied. When the prince dragged her inside the shop then she was thinking that the prince was fed up with her and hence wanted to sell her.
Though it seemed a little stupid to come so far away to sell her, Evelyn couldn’t think of any other reason.
However, just now when she heard him, Evelyn couldn’t believe her ears at all.
