Chapter 29: Regan Was Her Master And Nothing Else

The ointment was indeed magical.

Though she had already experienced it once, she still felt surprised by the extent it reduced her pain.

At this moment, Evelyn was standing in front of Regan beside Elias. The wound was bandaged by Regan himself.

Regan looked at Elias and then at Evelyn, to whom he said

"You go to your room."

In other words, he was asking her to go and rest.

To Evelyn, the words sounded strange. The wound on her temple was not big enough for her to go and rest.

And it didn’t hinder her movement from one place to another so she could do any kind of chore very well.

However, when she saw Regan’s red eyes that commanded her to obey whatever he said, she couldn’t say anything.

In the end, she bent her knees lightly before she left the chambers.

After she left, Elias informed his master

"Your Highness, that man is inside the prison."

Regan’s eyes flickered with a glint of coldness but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he asked Elias

"Where are the men gathered by you?"

"In the ground, Your Highness. His Highness, Prince Rex is also there."

Elias replied immediately.

Regan nodded his head and left the chambers with Elias.

Evelyn never had the habit of sleeping during the day. Still, she forced herself to sleep.

Perhaps it was because of the blood loss, she felt slightly dizzy when she reached the room so she laid down on the bed. Surprisingly, she fell asleep.

However, the sleep lasted for only an hour.

When she woke up, her forehead was covered with sweat and she was breathing heavily. Though those dreams were a usual occurrence, in all these years, she still had not been able to adapt herself to the scenes that flashed in front of her closed eyes.

Perhaps today she saw so much blood that her dreams were more horrible.

After a few moments, she calmed down.

When she saw the still-bright sky from the window, she decided to leave the room.

However, when she went to Regan’s chambers, she didn’t find anyone there.

Evelyn was confused. She had wanted to clean the chamber as it had not been cleaned by anyone.

However, she didn’t dare to do so without anyone else’s presence.

The scars of her past had been enough for her not to do something like that in her life again.

She didn’t want anyone to call her a thief if something disappeared from the chambers even if she didn’t have any hand in it.

Hence, she decided to look for her master or Elias.

Maybe she could help Elias in whatever he was doing.

But there was one more problem. Evelyn didn’t even know where she should search for Regan.

As she wandered through the corridors, she came across Hannah who seemed to be surprised to see her.

"Evelyn, what happened to your head?"

Hannah was surprised to see the wound on Evelyn’s temple...something which was not there when she had come to the kitchen in the morning.

Evelyn had just opened her mouth to speak when Hannah suddenly clapped her palms as if a realization dawned on her and started to speak loudly

"They were saying that a girl got injured because of one of the trader’s violent behavior. Evelyn, was it you?"

Evelyn looked at Hannah with wide eyes. Since they were standing in a corridor, Hannah’s loud voice seemed louder.

It was only when the guards standing nearby glanced at Hannah that she smiled sheepishly and realized her mistake.

But Evelyn did notice Hannah’s gaze lingering on one of the guards.

Hannah’s attention was soon back on Evelyn. The girl held Evelyn’s arm and said

"I have a very good ointment. Come with me...I will apply it to your wound."

Hannah was worried that Evelyn would not have any ointment to apply.

The castle was not like the royal Palace. There was no Royal physician inside the castle. The prince had just returned and many things still needed to be set in the right place.

Evelyn who was being dragged by Hannah felt warmth spreading through her heart when she heard Hannah.

But she didn’t need any ointment so she stopped Hannah and said

"I don’t need it. His Highness already app..."

Evelyn stopped and changed her words immediately

"His Highness gave me an ointment and I had applied it already. The pain is very less now."

She had not wanted to worry Hannah but a sigh escaped her lips when she saw the mischievousness shining in the latter’s eyes at her words.

She already knew what was coming.

"His Highness gave it to you personally..."

Hannah wiggled her eyebrows playfully when she said these words.

She even nudged Evelyn playfully who almost staggered back because of her sudden action.

After this, Hannah did lean down a bit and whispered in a low voice.

"Tell me...did His Highness apply it on your wound as well?"

Evelyn felt as if she had been exposed.

She didn’t even dare to look into Hannah’s eyes as she shook her head in ’no’ vigorously.

Yes, he did. But Hannah didn’t need to know about that.

The excited girl seemed to be disappointed a little making Evelyn sigh again.

She didn’t understand why but Hannah seems to have a strange obsession with pulling her leg using the prince.

Before Hannah could come up with some other mischievousness, she asked her

"Do you know where is His Highness?"

Hannah’s eyes again glittered with playfulness but fortunately, she gave the answer Evelyn wanted.

"In the grounds. I just returned from there."

"Ohh...how can I go there?"

Hannah told her about the directions and Evelyn turned around to leave immediately.

She heard Hannah’s words something regarding ’her being so eager to see the prince’...but she continued walking.

Hannah’s fun was harmless and it was just fun.

And she also knew very well that she was nothing but a slave.

So regardless of whatever Hannah said or thought, Regan was nothing to her but her master.
