Chapter 206: The Witches

Arthur frowned deeply when he heard the name of Mazic and the name of the woman who he knew was Regan’s mother...the man he so wished to bestow death on but was forced to keep control on himself.

"What about her?"

He asked with a deep frown on his forehead as well as displeasure-filled eyes.

The old man who was supposedly Arthur’s master face was suddenly contorted to have a wrathful expression before he said

"That red-eyed woman ...she is immune to our powers."

"What?"

Arthur said out aloud and anyone hearing his voice could tell him that the information didn’t please him at all.

He didn’t know much about Regina except that she was Regan’s mother. Regina had red eyes and Regan also had red eyes ...did that mean...

Arthur’s face was suddenly emotionless.

"Tell me everything."

He said to the old man coldly.

The old man looked as if he was remembering something from his past which made him feel humiliated and angry.

After silence of a few moments, he finally opened his mouth and said

"I had gone to Mazic once. At that time, I had found her in forests where she was training with other swordsmen. She was very beautiful...So at night, I decided to have fun with her. However, when I went to her tent and cast the spell on her waking up, I realized that the spell didn’t work on her. She had her sword with her and attacked me..."

The old man stopped speaking after that but the rage flickering in his eyes could tell anyone that what happened after that was very humiliating for him.

He didn’t say that Regina didn’t leave him capable of making any other girl a woman in the future again.

She made him reveal his intentions. Her soldiers cut his private part and then she with her soldiers left him there to die in the forest.

Unfortunately, he was able to survive... something that perhaps even he had not expected.

After that, the old man had taken Arthur as his disciple expecting that one day Arthur would avenge him. But the old man had thought Arthur of a too good person.

The day Arthur finished his learning, he blinded his master and then ran away to the further part of his journey.

The old man was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Arthur asking him

"Why did the spell didn’t work for her?"

The old man shook his head but then said after a thought

"I don’t know ...but my master used to tell me about witches when I was young. Witches usually possess red eyes and they are immune to our spells. Our spells are too inferior to the spell they know. The mind-controlling spell that I told you ...it works through the eyes. Witches have red eyes. Our eyes can never create the affinity the spell requires to their red eye. Their eyes, their auras, and the special powers in their bodies make them immune from our inferior spell....but witches became extinct long ago...."

The old man whispered and continued a moment later

"And she was the princess born from two full humans. So how could she be a witch?"

So many years passed after that and the old man never came to know why exactly his spell didn’t work that night.

He even asked around about Regina from people and he came to know that the King and Queen of Mazic...both of them were full humans without possessing any special powers.

Arthur didn’t have an answer to the asked question. However, whatever he heard displeased him a lot.

"Would no spell work on a red-eyed person?"

The old man frowned when he heard this and asked with a mocking chuckle.

"What other spell do you even know of except the one I taught you?"

Which was a mind-controlling spell...

Arthur didn’t answer this question because he realized that the old man didn’t even know the answer. The old man knew only one spell and that didn’t work on Regan when he tried it.

However, his silence made the old man somewhat excited as he asked

"Do you know other spells....what can they do? Tell me."

However, Arthur ignored him as he said

"A doctor will be sent to treat your leg."

Arthur thought he might still need the old man around...at least until he gets his wife by his side back.

However, the old man shouted suddenly clearly not satisfied with what he got.

"My eyes...I want you to heal my eyes as well."

Arthur paused when he heard this and turned around to look at his so-called master as he chuckled mirthlessly.

"Do you really think that I would do that, Master?"

The old man’s body shook with anger when he heard this but he controlled himself and said

"I can assure you that I won’t bring any harm to you."

However, Arthur merely smiled coldly as he said

"Still, I can’t take any chance. You are my master. How can I put myself in a vulnerable position by giving you back your eyesight? I will be a fool if I did that, Master."

The old man closed his eyes in regret.

It was his fault. He should have never threatened Arthur that he could make Arthur forget everything he had been taught if Arthur dared to disobey him.

But at that time, he was not aware exactly what kind of a person Arthur was.

After all the old man also knew the spell.

It was because of this only that Arthur blinded him completely not leaving any scope himself losing his powers.

That was how Arthur was. He was careful. He would never leave any way for his opponent to attack himself in the future.

Arthur glanced at the old man for one last time before he left the hut with a mocking scoff...leaving the old man with his regrets.

He regretted taking a disciple like Arthur under his care. How he wished that he had never done that!
