Chapter 203: Connected To Lavo

Evelyn’s eyes widened slightly. She had actually heard the incident where Regan had tamed Lavo from the soldiers training on the grounds. Those soldiers were told everything by Elias.

Needless to say, Evelyn had been shocked.

But today hearing it from the prince’s mouth itself, she felt more shocked.

Lavo was such a giant creature. She wondered how aggressive he must be before he was tamed by the prince.

And sure enough, Regan said

"Lavo was sent by someone from Zamorin. He was sent to harm my soldiers and me."

Evelyn inhaled sharply hearing this ...especially when she saw Regan’s cold eyes as he said these words.

"How did Prince tame him?"

Evelyn couldn’t help but ask.

Regan smiled, perhaps glad that she was at least talking to him normally.

"When I saw him, he was all wounded, bruised, and bleeding. They perhaps harmed him to keep him in control."

Evelyn frowned but then smiled bitterly.

It is what they did always.

Their way of controlling someone was to give that person pain to generate the fear of pain in the heart of the same person.

The slaves and animals ...both were controlled like this.

She suddenly felt sympathy for Lavo.

"I fought with him."

Evelyn turned to look at Regan swiftly when she heard him.

"I had to ...to save my people because he was completely out of control when he was left in my territory."

Evelyn didn’t know what she should say.

Regan continued nonetheless.

"But I didn’t give him any new wound. I tied him with thick ropes, made him immobile using iron cuffs, and then left him inside a forest. After that, I visited him every day after training. I applied ointment to his wounds. I fed him. When I felt that he was no longer aggressive, I freed him again so that he could leave. But he didn’t leave. This pearl..."

Regan pointed to the pearl in Evelyn’s palm and said

"This pearl is the tear that Lavo had shed at that time. He submitted to me and from that day, Lavo is with me."

Evelyn smiled softly as she stroked the pearl surface. The beautiful pearl seemed more beautiful and meaningful after hearing about such a beautiful incident.

"When I said that Lavo likes you because I like you...it was not a lie."

Evelyn stilled slightly at the words but at the same time, she was curious to know more.

"I am connected to him through this pearl. He can feel my emotions to a certain extent."

Realization suddenly dawned on Evelyn.

She suddenly realized why Lavo growled angrily when the prince was angry. It was not a coincidence.

So that’s why Lavo always liked to be closer to her. Did that mean that the prince also...

But then suddenly she frowned as she blurted out.

"But Lavo seems to like me since he saved me from those lions in the arena. Then when did Your Hi..."

Evelyn turned to look at Regan when she said this. But she didn’t even need to finish her question because the meaningful expression on Regan’s face gave away everything.

She looked away as she felt her cheeks burning but she didn’t dare to look at Regan. She felt more embarrassed as she could feel his gaze on her.

Regan smirked silently seeing her blushing as if he was aware of what she was thinking.

He was not expressing but he was very happy. Evelyn took his confession in a better manner than he had thought.

He took the pearl from her palm as he said

"I am telling you all this because I want you to think about something."

Regan went silent for a moment after saying these words. He seemed to be deep in his thoughts before he finally asked her

"Do you wish to be connected with Lavo just like me?"

Evelyn turned to look at Regan with confusion-filled eyes.

Seeing this, Regan explained to her.

"Today, Dan told me that ....Arthur has some mysterious skills. It is a guess for now. But the time about which you don’t remember at all...we doubt that you were with Arthur at that time."

Evelyn’s eyes widened slightly and her face went pale.

Regan immediately held her hand and squeezed it gently.

"I don’t want to scare you, Evelyn. I told you this because I want you to know that we still need to stay wary of him."

Anything could have happened today.

Perhaps Arthur could have taken her away. Regan felt his heart stilling at the thought. Even though he would have turned the whole world upside down to find her ...but he would have still taken time to find her, wouldn’t he?

Till then, Arthur could have done a hundred things to traumatize her again.

That’s why he would never want to happen such a thing again.

Evelyn gulped in fear and then nodded her head slowly. She looked at Regan as he said

"That’s why I want you to consider this. If you agree to be connected to Lavo through this pearl...then it will be helpful in the future ...not only against Arthur but also against anyone who will try to harm you."

Evelyn looked at the pearl again.

Regan really wanted her to consider this.

This would assure his heart of her safety.

He looked at her for a few moments. Seeing that she was thinking, he put the pearl inside the box and said

"It’s alright, Think calmly. You can take all the time."

Saying these words, Regan was about to get up from the bed to put the box inside the closet when Evelyn suddenly held his arm to stop him and said

"I am ready, Your Highness."

Regan smiled when he heard her words.

He took her finger and frowned a little as he said

"I would have to hurt you slightly."

Evelyn nodded her head though she was confused. She only saw Regan piercing her finger slightly with his dagger. Evelyn winced and Regan apologized immediately.

He would not have done this but this was important.

Carefully, he dropped a drop of her blood on the pearl and Evelyn suddenly felt a warmth surging through her body.

Regan immediately picked the ointment made from Lavo’s feathers and applied it on her torn flesh.

As he applied it gently, Evelyn immediately felt the pain going away and heard him say

"It’s done."
