Chapter 199: Questions

There was complete silence after Dan had finished his words.

Rex, Regan, and Elias had never expected to find out something like this.

"Then ...does it not mean that such a man can do anything? He could even kill the King himself. He could rule the whole Empire."

In fact, if Arthur had such a skill then perhaps he could control Derrick’s mind as well.

Regan’s face went somber as he was suddenly worried about Alfaros with Arthur living in Royal Palace. Rex didn’t look any different.

Dan sighed again as he shook his head.

"I don’t know much about this skill...but my master had written a whole manual on it. However, it was lost during his return because we were attacked by a tribe. As much as I remember, my master used to say that the effect of this control doesn’t last long. As we can see...the man brought by Elias and Evelyn also, both of them are completely in their minds now. They know what they are saying, where they are but they don’t remember what happened to them when their mind was under the control of someone."

Dan was trying to remember as much as he could. However, without the manual of his master, he still knew very little.

Regan was completely silent.

Though he thought that Dan’s guess could be right, he still had many questions.

Like...if Arthur had such a skill, then why didn’t he try to control his mind in Mazic back then? If he had done so, then he would have Evelyn by his side now.

Dan left after some time telling the three of them that he would try to find some more information from the man. He also asked Regan to tell him when Evelyn woke up again.

"Perhaps we can find from Evelyn how he tries to control someone’s mind. There must be something..."

Regan nodded his head and Dan left finally.

Regan felt a hand on his shoulder and looked at Rex.

"I think we should write a letter and tell His Majesty about this, Regan."

Rex was right. But...

"Will he believe us?"

Regan said coldly.

Regan blamed Derrick for whatever happened. If Derrick had not called him for the stupid conversation then nothing of this would have happened.

He remembered Derrick’s words and his eyes went colder than before.

’Choose any other girl from one of the noble families, Regan. She will be your main wife. You can have that slave as your second wife if you don’t want her to be your concubine.’

Regan had laughed back then... humorless laughter.

’Your Majesty, loving some other woman and not giving her the position she deserves might be your way but not mine. Evelyn is the girl who rules my heart so she will rule everyone who I am supposed to rule in the future.’

Derrick was completely stilled by Regan’s words. After all, what Regan said was true.

Regan’s mother, Regina was the most favored queen by Derrick. He loved Regina but his main wife was Diana.

After all, Regina was the princess of Mazic...a city that was an opponent of Alfaros before. Even though Regina submitted and accepted the offer to marry Derrick to save Mazic, she was still from the enemy city.

Hence, she couldn’t become Derrick’s main wife.

However, no one dared to say anything to him regarding this matter. Not even Regina.

If only Derrick had asked Regan then the latter would have told him the whys of this.

Regina never expected anything from Derrick. She knew what Derrick was capable of and hence she wanted the son nurtured by herself to rule the Empire so that he could remove the defects from the system.

"Regan..."

Rex called out to Regan who came out of his thoughts. Rex seemed to know what he was thinking so he said calmly.

"Instead of thinking about him, we are supposed to think of Alfaros."

Rex was right.

Regan closed his eyes and exhaled sharply as he nodded his head.

"Send a letter to him and mention everything Dan had said."

Rex sighed in relief and left to do the same.

As soon as Rex left, Elias suddenly kneeled down in front of Regan and said

"Your Highness, I was unable to take care of Her Highness well. Please punish me."

Regan sighed as he looked at Elias. Yes, he was angry but he knew that somewhere Elias was also not at fault. After all, they didn’t know that Arthur had such skills. However, punishment was also necessary.

So he said coldly

"Go and collect some furs from Lavo’s wings."

He will make more medicinal paste from them. Perhaps they would give some relief to Evelyn.

On the other hand, Elias’ face went pale. One needed to know that the giant creature didn’t let anyone touch its fur except for Regan.

However, this was his punishment.

Hence, Elias even though was crying inside his heart for the upcoming, nodded his head solemnly as he said

"It will be done, Your Highness."

Then he left from there while Regan went inside the room to stay by Evelyn’s side.

Royal Palace

The chamber Arthur resided in was turned completely upside down by him.

The chambers were dimly lit and Arthur was seated on the only couch which was still in its position. He was breathing heavily and his body radiated a dark aura.

’He beat me and put me inside a dungeon. I was starving.... He tried to force himself on me.’

Every word said by Evelyn was flashing in his mind and all he could feel was his heart and mind telling him that he should go and kill Raphael.

However, a rational part of him was aware that he couldn’t do so. At least not yet.

He still needed Raphael.

Just at this moment, a servant’s voice came from outside which was filled with fear.

"Sir Arthur, His Highness, Prince Raphael is here."

Arthur’s eyes flashed with a cold glint of light as he said

"Send him inside."

He will use Raphael until he gets what he wants.

Then Raphael shouldn’t even think about breathing for one extra second. Any man who touched Evelyn except him didn’t deserve to live...including Regan.

Because Evelyn was his wife.
