Chapter 180: The Banquet is Within A Week

The next morning, when Evelyn woke up she didn’t see Regan sleeping on the bed. In fact, Regan couldn’t be found anywhere inside the room.

It was only when the maid came to help her in the bath that she came to know that Regan left the Palace early in the morning with Rex.

"When would His Highness return?"

She asked the maid with a conflicted expression on her face.

"I am not aware, Your Highness."

The maid who was always enthusiastic to ready Evelyn replied politely.

Evelyn sighed.

Last night, she was feeling depressed because she had realized about her feelings which were increasing day by day towards the prince. However, not seeing the prince early in the morning made her feel more depressed now.

She sighed yet again before she moved towards the bathroom.

The maid had already poured the hot water in the bath tub. Evelyn removed her clothes and sat down in the tub.

Two days ago, she had been feeling very embarrassed to get naked in front of the maid. The maid had been sent by the prince to help her as she had not been feeling well after returning from the Palace.

Today she was too lost in thoughts of the prince to care about anything else.

Evelyn came out of her trance when she heard the maid’s whisper

"Your Highness...this mark on your back is very beautiful."

Evelyn frowned, unable to understand which mark the maid was talking about.

"Which mark?"

She asked as she tried to have a look. However, since it was on her back she couldn’t see it. The maid out her finger on the mark to make her feel where it was and said

"It is an eagle drawn in black colour...but it looks very beautiful. I like the mark since the first day I helped Your Highness."

The maid accepted in a slightly shy voice.

She could see that Evelyn was not an arrogant and temperamental master. Otherwise, the maid wouldn’t dare to be so bold in front of her.

Evelyn frowned deeply because she never knew that she had such a mark on her back. But before this maid, no one had ever helped in the bath...not even Gianna. And she couldn’t look at her own back.

Perhaps this was the reason that she never knew about such mark. Maybe she had it since her birth.

Evelyn couldn’t think about the mark for long because there was a knock on bathroom’s door and from outside came the voice of a maid.

"Your Highness, I came with a request of Lady Irwin. Lady Irwin wishes to ask if she could start slightly early today. She also have something important to share with Your Highness."

Evelyn immediately replied to the maid

"Sure. I will be there in half an hour."

What request? If Lady Irwin said then it was to be obeyed. Otherwise she will not leave the chance to reprimand Evelyn.

The maid who was helping Evelyn in bath also hurried and Evelyn didn’t have the time to think about the newly found mark on her back again.

Evelyn got readied as soon as possible.

By the time she was done with her heavy dress and hair, half an hour had passed already. Hence, she couldn’t have her breakfast and immediately reached the garden where Lady Irwin was waiting for her with Laurel already.

"I hope I didn’t make Lady Irwin wait for long."

Though Evelyn knew that she was on time, she said these words politely. She was learning slowly and slowly.

In the past, she had served many members of noble families in Zamorin.

In her free time, Evelyn would try to remember how they used to behave, what they used to say and she would try to learn on her own some new things.

Lady Irwin, who had stood up from the chair when Evelyn stepped inside the garden, nodded her head in satisfaction and said calmly

"No, Your Highness is on time."

Then she signed Evelyn to take the seat and started

"Your Highness, it is like this...I have received some information which is not revealed to public yet. The news is that...Your Majesty might announce the banquet in a week only."

Evelyn’s eyes widened slightly because she realized what this meant.

She was not ready for the banquet yet...as that was what Lady Irwin had told her. She didn’t know how to dance, how to bow, how to curtsy and many other things...

How will she be able to manage herself in a banquet where she would be under the attention of so many people of noble families!

Perhaps Lady Irwin could see Evelyn’s nervousness so she said

"Your Highness, being calm is the first step to solve any problem standing in front of us."

Evelyn immediately put away her nervousness and Lady Irwin continued

"According to me, we just need to hasten the process. One week is a short time but it is also a very long time. It just depends on us how we use it."

Lady Irwin had just finished her words when a maid came and informed her

"Lady Irwin, Lady Bennett is here."

Lady Irwin nodded her head and looked at Evelyn and said

"Your Highness, I took the liberty to invite one of my friends over? Can I call her here?"

Evelyn nodded her head immediately and said

"Yes, Lady Irwin. Sure."

Lady Irwin hence asked the maid to bring Lady Bennett to the garden.

Lady Bennett was very beautiful. There was a very gentle smile on her lips when she stepped inside the garden. Her eyes stayed on Evelyn for a few moments before she curtsied elegantly and said

"I assume that this is Your Highness, Princess Consort. Greetings from this one."

Evelyn felt very awkward every time when someone greeted her. But she kept a calm expression on her face and said

"There is no need of formalities, Lady Bennett. I suppose that you must be here to help me."

While saying these words, Evelyn looked at Lady Irwin who nodded her head at Evelyn’s words and hence Evelyn looked at Lady Bennett and smiled politely as she said

"Then I will bother you, Lady Bennett."

Lady Irwin nodded her head in satisfaction again.

On the other hand, Lady Bennett shook her head as she continued to smile while saying

"I don’t think Your Highness would be a bother. In fact, from what I can see...Your Highness already knows a lot of things."

Evelyn didn’t know what she should say in return so she preferred to stay silent.

Hence, Lady Irwin took the matter in her hands and said

"Your Highness, since we don’t have much time, Your Highness will need to learn more than one thing in a day. Lady Bennett is going to teach you dance. She has received innate skills in dancing from her mother and is a very good dancer. In fact, His Highness’ Mother, Princess Regina when came to Alfaros was taught dance by her mother only. "

Lady Bennett chuckled when she heard Lady Irwin’s words and said

"Lady Irwin overpraises me and my mother, Your Highness."

Lady Irwin merely smile in return and then said calmly

"I think we should start."

Evelyn nodded her head and sighed silently.

Indeed, they needed to start.
