Chapter 176: Evelyn Needs To Learn

Evelyn’s attention was immediately piqued by Regan when she heard this but her eyes were full of disbelief when she looked at him.

She couldn’t believe that the prince would take such a long time to learn anything.

"Your Highness is lying."

Evelyn said immediately.

Regan raised his eyebrows in amusement. Exactly how great he was in her eyes that she couldn’t believe this. Clearing his throat, he said calmly

"You can confirm with Rex about this."

Evelyn blinked because the prince indeed looked as if he was speaking the truth.

"In fact, Rex couldn’t learn even in a week. He would send chicken flying at the teacher’s face whenever he would try to cut it."

Regan smiled when he remembered those days.

He and his mother used to laugh at Rex together who would then get angry and threaten not to talk to them. In the end, they would have to apologize to him and try to teach him.

"Lady Irwin might kill me if I did that."

Regan chuckled when he heard Evelyn’s words.

"Are you scared of her?"

He asked gently and his hand went to stroke her hair that was falling on her face. His move was so natural that Evelyn found her heart beating fast inside her chest.

"A little."

Evelyn answered in a slightly breathless voice.

Regan hid his smile and said

"You don’t need to. She can only scold you if you make a mistake. Even while doing that, she needs to respect you because you are my princess consort. So don’t be afraid of her."

Evelyn had not viewed things like this. But when Regan said these words, she couldn’t deny them.

Indeed, Lady Irwin didn’t scold her much today even though she was making so many mistakes.

There was suddenly a knock on the door and Regan knew that it must be the maid who was here with snacks for Evelyn.

So he asked her to step inside the room.

Evelyn immediately sat on the bed when she saw the door being opened. Regan didn’t stop her.

The maid didn’t look toward the bed and silently walked to the bedside table. She placed the snacks there and left the room after that.

Regan picked up the plate and said

"Have some before dinner."

Evelyn shook her head and said

"No, Your Highness should have it. I am not hungry."

The prince just returned and he must be hungry. Evelyn thought that she was incompetent as she should have thought about this and call the maid to serve him the meal.

Regan shook his head and passed the snacks to her again as he said

"I had lunch with Rex. You have it. You are so thin. Eat a little extra for a few months. We need to start your training as well."

Evelyn’s eyes brightened up instantly and she asked Regan in disbelief.

"Can I start it again?"

Regan’s eyes were filled with warmth seeing her happy. She looked very cute at that moment.

"Of Course, you can."

He said as he filled the spoon with the meal in the plate and forwarded it to Evelyn’s lips. Evelyn was so excited that she didn’t find anything weird and just ate from his hands.

At the same time, she asked him

"Won’t they talk? I mean...I am married to Your Highness and I am a woman so..."

"No one can say anything."

Regan said calmly as he forwarded the spoon to Evelyn’s lips again.

"And you don’t need to worry about people so much, Evelyn."

Regan suddenly put down the spoon and looked at Evelyn very seriously as he said

"You are my wife, Evelyn. It is they who are supposed to follow you and not the other way around. You represent me. Be confident and rule this Palace as if it is yours. If anyone looks down on you, you have the right to punish them. And remember this...if you don’t do that, then it means that you are letting them look down on me because in the end...you and I are the same now."

Evelyn stared at Regan silently.

Regan also stopped speaking. He let her digest whatever he said just now. His soldiers were training men in Mazic even though he, Rex, and Elias were still there.

But amidst all this, he didn’t forget about Evelyn’s training.

The training was to continue for Evelyn because Regan knew that Arthur was still around. He didn’t know Arthur much but he was sure that Arthur would not give up just like this.

At least from whatever Evelyn told him about Arthur, he had understood Arthur that much. That man killed his own brother just to get Evelyn so how could he give up just like that this time!

And he wanted to be ready for any kind of attack. After all, he was still unaware of exactly how many men Arthur had on his side.

Regan had a suspicion that Arthur was still in contact with Prince William and it might be their ploy to get shelter in Alfaros and then attack all of a sudden.

However, he had not found any proof against Arthur until now. So he could only stay careful.

At the same time, Regan used this opportunity to tell Evelyn what power and responsibilities she held as his princess consort.

While marrying Evelyn, Regan knew that he would have to help Evelyn after their marriage. The past Evelyn had didn’t allow her to know how things went in noble families.

It was not her fault that she didn’t know anything however she would be blamed by others if she didn’t learn how to suppress people who dare to look down on her.

So he would teach her slowly.

She would learn and he was sure that she would do everything better than anyone could do.

Because like him and his mother, Evelyn understood those common’s people miseries.

And he was also aware that she would do anything as Princess of Mazic for their welfare.
