Chapter 119: Who Is Arthur?

What Rex said was right. Regan knew that.

He knew that Arthur would not just sit idly. The past few minutes had been enough for him to know a little about what kind of man he was. That ...that creepy grin on his face when he had been looking at Evelyn was also enough for Regan to understand what Rex was implying.

However...

"Nothing like that would happen."

He said firmly.

Rex frowned when he saw Regan so calm and certain. The next moment, his frown vanished and his eyes went wide with panic as he asked

"Regan, don’t tell me that you had planned something already against them before I come here!"

Rex really wished that this was not the matter.

However, Regan merely nodded his head. At that moment, Rex wished that he could bang his brother’s head and put some brain in it. However, he knew that it was impossible so he wondered if he should bang his own against the wall.

It was so impossible to manage this stubborn brother of his.

"Regan, how could you...what did you do?"

He asked in an exasperated voice. However, before even Regan could answer Rex, Rex suddenly looked around the chambers and asked

"Where is Elias?"

Regan smiled in response and Rex understood everything.

Rex shook his head as he asked

"You sent Elias behind that man and Minister Travis?"

"Yes"

Regan answered calmly. He was sure that Elias would easily subdue Arthur and bring him back. This time, no one would even come to know that Arthur had been captured by him.

Even if they would doubt him, they won’t be able to do anything because they won’t have any evidence against him.

However, Evelyn who was seated on the bed and had been hearing everything silently up till now suddenly looked pale.

"Elias...he ...went behind him?"

She asked in almost a whisper which also came out broken. Rex and Regan both looked toward her and Regan walked to her side when he noticed that she didn’t look well.

"Evelyn, don’t worry."

He said gently as he stroked her hair and tried to make her lean against the headrest.

He also picked the glass of water from the bedside and took her near her lips as he continued to comfort her.

"Elias is very capable. He has been trained by me personally. Don’t worry about anything."

However, Evelyn shook her head as she pushed the glass of water that was near her lips.

Her green eyes were wide and they were filled with nothing but fear and tears.

"Your Highness doesn’t know him...."

She whispered as her lips started to quiver.

"He ...he is very cruel...he will...what if he harmed Elias?"

Evelyn’s body shivered when she thought this. It was difficult to forget the past ..., especially the memories that had created a deep fear inside her heart.

Though she knew that Elias had been trained by the prince himself, she still feared that Elias would be harmed.

Was it because she had seen Arthur’s cruelty with her own eyes?

Rex was still frowning as he looked at Evelyn. His heart was actually filled with all the doubts about Evelyn.

He seemed to find nothing wrong with Arthur. A part of his heart couldn’t help but think ...if Evelyn was lying to all of them.

Was it also some sort of plan made by William?

Rex didn’t know but at this moment, he couldn’t really trust Evelyn no matter how much he tried.

While Regan was looking at Evelyn silently. There was not any need to say that he didn’t like to see Evelyn like this.

So scared, so weak...

The questions Rex had were also inside his heart. However, he trusted Evelyn. He trusted that there must be something wrong with that man for Evelyn to fear him so much.

She didn’t look scared at all when Lavo, such a giant creature suddenly appeared that day inside the arena. She had fearlessly walked to him and held his paw.

But she feared a man like Arthur.

Could it be that Arthur was one of her masters in the past? Regan wondered. Was their marriage forced?

Regan remembered that Evelyn had said that she had been sold at the age of eight years only.

Then when did she come across Arthur and when did they even marry!

The three people inside the room were lost in their own thoughts when Elias suddenly entered the chambers.

"Your Highness!"

There was a very grim look on his face. Evelyn instantly looked at him and climbed down from the bed.

She looked at the cut on his cheek and asked

"Elias, are you alright? Did he ...did he harm you?"

Elias looked at the scared Evelyn and nodded his head immediately.

"I am alright, Evelyn. This is the only cut I got."

He said pointing to the cut on his cheek.

Evelyn sighed in relief when she heard this. However, Elias’s next words diminished that relief to some extent.

"However, that man couldn’t be caught."

Regan frowned deeply when he heard this and looked at Elias. Seeing his master’s unhappy gaze, Elias was disappointed in himself and said

"Your Highness...I don’t know. My eyes had been on him always. I was fighting with other soldiers. I almost caught him when he suddenly attacked me with a dagger. Due to that, I lost his sight for a few moments but then I could no longer find him...it was as if he disappeared from there."

"Where can he disappear, Elias? You might have not been careful while checking around."

Rex said when he heard Elias.

One part of him was relieved that Arthur was safe because if something had happened to him while still in Mazic then Regan would have been in trouble.

However, he didn’t say it out loud.

He didn’t need to. Regan knew it.

And he looked unhappy.

He looked at Rex and suddenly said

"How do you think he entered the castle?"

Rex’s mind went blank at Regan’s question.

After the invasion of the castle, they increased security to a great extent. Even if there were not many guards around Evelyn’s room, it was almost impossible to enter the castle for someone unknown and Arthur was a stranger.

Then how did he enter the castle?

"That man is not as simple as you think, Rex."

Regan whispered and this time Rex couldn’t counter him.
