Chapter 106: Evelyn Wants To Buy A Gift For Regan
Evelyn waited until Regan had left the chambers with Elias and Rex was alone inside. She glanced towards the entrance again before she walked to the prince quietly.
"Your Highness, I need a help."
Rex looked at Evelyn with interest-filled eyes especially when he saw her looking towards the entrance again and again.
Was she looking out for Regan? But why was she being so careful?
With more interest-filled eyes, he nodded his head agreeing to help her. Evelyn asked immediately
"What does His Highness like the most?"
Rex was surprised for a moment and hence silent. A moment later, he asked
"Why are you asking this question?"
Evelyn hesitated for a moment before she told him
"I wanted to buy something for His Highness. But I don’t know what I should buy. So I wanted to know what he likes or dislikes."
"A gift?"
Rex asked again and Evelyn nodded her head in yes.
Then Rex looked at Evelyn with suddenly mirth-filled eyes. What did Regan like the most?
At this moment, he was sure that it would be none other than the girl standing in front of him right now.
So should he ask her to present herself as a gift to his brother? He was sure Regan would be all over the moon...or perhaps not. He might face Regan’s wrath for straying Evelyn in the wrong direction.
Rex bit his lip as he was silent for a moment before he answered Evelyn
"You can buy him anything. He will certainly like it."
Evelyn frowned in confusion when she heard this and couldn’t help but say
"How is this possible?"
In response, Rex only sighed.
It was possible. He was actually certain. The way Regan looked crazy for her, he would worship even a stone given by Evelyn.
However, he couldn’t make Evelyn understand this so he only said
"Believe me."
His face was very serious when he said these words before he also left the chambers.
Evelyn looked at his back with a face full of disappointment. She didn’t get any kind of clue from the confusing words the prince just said.
It seemed that she should just go to the market and look for something on her own. Evelyn sighed before she went to her own room to get the money and then she left the market after telling Martha.

Regan was teaching the men new moves in the ground when Hannah came with two other maids to fill the water in the nearby pot.
In the huge ground, there were almost twenty to thirty groups of men that were practicing. Rex, Regan, and Elias had one-one group under them. And the fifty soldiers brought by Elias from the border had one group under two solider.
Near every group, a pot of water was kept from which they could drink water when they got a break.
It was Hannah’s duty to fill them with water from time to time.
Seeing Hannah, Regan stopped amidst what he was doing and called her. Hannah immediately walked to him and heard him ask
"Send Evelyn here. Though she can’t practice, she can at least watch and learn a bit."
Evelyn’s disappointment-filled eyes had been lingering in front of his eyes since he had entered the grounds. So he decided that he should at least let her watch. She could at least get familiar with new moves.
However, Hannah looked at the prince in confusion and said
"Your Highness, Evelyn had not returned yet. But I will tell her as soon as she returns."
"Returns?"
Regan frowned as he asked.
"Where is she?"
Hannah suddenly realized that the prince didn’t know that Evelyn had gone out of the castle. She bit her lips as she wondered if she created some sort of trouble for Evelyn. Just when she wondering how she should handle the situation, Regan asked her coldly
"I asked you where is she?"
Hannah literally trembled under his cold eyes and blurted out
"Your Highness, Evelyn went to the market. She told Martha before she left."
"Market?"
Regan frowned deeply as he whispered.
"She went out of the castle? That too alone?"
Hannah was very scared when she saw that the prince looked angry. Rex had been watching everything from far away when he had seen Regan calling Hannah. Seeing that the situation didn’t look good, he quickly walked to Regan only to see the maid’s pale face.
"Regan, what happened?"
He asked as he put his hand on his brother’s shoulder.
"Rex, she went out of the castle. Alone. She didn’t even tell me."
Rex frowned when he heard Regan. He first dismissed Hannah and then dragged Regan to a corner before he said
"Why she is supposed to tell you, Regan? She is no longer your slave."
In response to these words, Regan glared at Rex coldly.
"I am not saying that she should ask me. She can at least tell me. You don’t know but she doesn’t know anything. What if she..."
Regan didn’t complete what he had wanted to say but he remembered how inexperienced Evelyn looked when they had visited the market. He felt afraid just thinking that she was outside the castle that too alone.
Rex however didn’t seem to find anything wrong with it.
"Why are you so worried? No one can harm her in Mazic. The situation is not like before, Regan. We have our people to maintain law and order around the city. She will be safe. And how will she learn until she goes out and explores it can’t always be under your wings, Regan."
Regan was still frowning and whispered
"She could have told me. It’s not like I would have stopped her."
Rex shook his head and blurted out
"How could she? After all, she wants to buy a gift for you."
At these words, Regan looked at Rex so swiftly that for a moment even Rex feared that he might twist his neck with such a fast movement.
"What did you say? She went to buy a gift for me."
After that, Rex cursed himself and then silently apologized to Evelyn.
