Chapter 103: Gifts For Friends

Evelyn’s words made Regan more worried than before.

"You are feeling pain in your shoulder and you are telling me this now!"

Regan almost sighed in exasperation as he looked at Evelyn and the latter could only lower her head showing that she was guilty.

However, Regan turned to look at Rex as if saying

’And you say that I am hard on her.’

Rex only shrugged his shoulders in return.

Regan turned to look at Evelyn when he heard her say

"It is fine now, Your Highness. The pain was only momentarily."

Regan frowned but when he saw her face carefully, she didn’t seem to be lying. And just at that moment, a sound was heard.

Evelyn wanted to just die then and there.

It was happening the second time and she felt more embarrassed than the first time.

Regan who had looked angry before now had his lips twitching in amusement. He stifled his laughter seeing Evelyn’s expression and stepped out of her way as he said

"Come and eat."

Evelyn nodded her head stiffly and didn’t even dare to look at Rex and Elias. Fortunately, no one talked about it and they just had their meal in silence.

It was only then she realized how hungry she was.

After she was full, she raised her head and found the three men on the table already finished with their meals and looking at her.

Evelyn felt embarrassed again.

"Are you full?’

Regan asked and she answered immediately

"Yes, Your Highness"

Evelyn was slightly surprised when she saw Prince Rex smiling at her. When she was certain that the smile was sincere she felt as if a big burden was lifted off her chest.

It seemed that Prince Rex was no longer wary of her. And from what she could see, he didn’t scold her master as well as she had been fearing.

She came out of her thoughts when she heard the prince calling Guard.

A guard came.

Regan asked him to take the empty tray to the kitchen and also said

"Ask Dan to come here."

Evelyn looked at the prince with panic and said

"Your Highness, I am fine now."

She actually never felt any pain. It would make her feel guilty to disturb Dan in vain. However, Regan didn’t seem to even hear her words.

Within a few moments, Dan was inside the chambers.

"Did you not say that her wound has recovered? She felt pain today."

Regan was looking at Dan with almost accusation-filled eyes making the latter baffled. Evelyn didn’t even dare to meet his gaze. She felt as if she had created a huge mess that she couldn’t clear now. Inside her heart, she silently apologizes to Dan.

Dan was swift in his work. He couldn’t hear anything against his medical skill.

So he stood in front of Evelyn and said

"Show me your wound."

To show the wound, Evelyn had to open her dress and get her shoulder naked. It was fine if only Dan was here as she had started to feel comfortable with him in the past few weeks. Elias and Prince Rex had already left the chambers. But ...

Evelyn’s eyes went to the prince and she suddenly hesitated.

Regan saw her in confusion for a moment before his eyes flickered with realization. He cleared his throat and said

"Then I will turn around."

He did as he said and Evelyn finally unbuttoned her dress. Dan looked at the scar carefully and didn’t see anything which could be said wrong.

There was a deep frown on his face as he whispered

"Nothing seems to be wrong to me."

Hearing him, Evelyn felt her palms sweating and said cautiously.

"Actually I was running perhaps that’s why..."

Dan looked at Evelyn carefully when she said these words to him. Her green eyes were almost trying to convince him forcefully. His lips curled up to form a smile as he said

"Hm...it might be because of that. You should not run."

Dan smiled when he said the last few words and Evelyn knew that he had caught her. Her cheeks went red but she was grateful that he didn’t expose her.

Evelyn buttoned up her dress and told the prince that he could turn around. Regan did so and looked at Dan questioningly.

Dan cooperated very well with Evelyn.

"It is because she ran. She should not run for a few weeks."

Regan frowned and looked at Evelyn. Understanding his concern, Evelyn said immediately

"I will be careful, Your Highness."

Regan nodded his head and dismissed Dan. After that, he walked to his closet and came back with a familiar bottle in his hands.

"Here apply this on the wound."

The balm made from Lavo’s wings should be able to help if it was a minor pain. Evelyn shook her head as she looked at the balm and said

"I already have a bottle, Your Highness."

However, Regan didn’t listen to her. He stuffed the bottle in her hands and said

"Just take it and apply a lot of it...take your friends’ help."

He said after a few moments.

Evelyn nodded her head feeling guilty for worrying him unnecessarily.

After all this, Regan sent her to her room to rest.

When Evelyn stepped inside her room, she found Hannah, Miri, and Ami there waiting for her.

"Where were you? We have been waiting for so long for you."

Miri complained as she settled herself on Evelyn’s bed. Evelyn only looked at Hannah with narrowed eyes and didn’t respond to Miri’s question.

Hannah smiled sheepishly and held her ears apologizing silently.

Evelyn shook her head and didn’t pay any more attention to her. She walked to her small almirah and took out a small bundle.

"I have bought something for the three of you."

Hannah, Miri, and Ami were surprised when they heard this. The next moment, the three of them were grinning and surrounded Evelyn.

"What did you buy for me, Evelyn?"

"I also want to know."

"Hey, don’t push me."

Seeing them fighting like children, Evelyn didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. But she really liked to see their excitement because she was equally excited to show them her gifts.
