Chapter 154: Eddy’s First Task!

The cars had been prepared. Eduardo noticed the house was a bit quiet and realised that everyone had left for one reason or the other. His father had taken Fabio with him, leaving David behind.

His father trusted him and left everything in his hand, so he would not dare to disappoint him.

"Master, the old master asked me to present this to you," he said, carrying a box. Even without opening it, he knew what was in there.

A specially made gun, just like Marcello’s silver Glock 17. His own was also silver, and his name was written on the side. He picked up some bullets and fixed them in the gun.

Hiding it behind him, he turned to David.

"Shall we leave?"

"Yes, Master. The cars are outside" David stretched his hand, walking out with him. Eduardo noticed how distant David had been. It’s like he has become more serious with his job after he has become a secretary.

’Or maybe I’m just overthinking. He isn’t the only one being serious. It’s everybody!’

Eduardo shook his head and approached the car. He sat in the back seat of his sleek black car, his fingers drumming against his thigh as he stared out the tinted window. The engine started and drove out of the Ivanov estate. The ride was long and during that, he learnt about the Capistranos from David, who sat on the passenger seat. He knew a few things about them already, but it wouldn’t hurt to learn more about them.

The other men followed closely behind in two separate vehicles, their expressions grim and focused. They were obviously Fabio’s men. Even if Fabio wasn’t there at the moment, his men would always report every of his movement to him.

’So uncomfortable’

He frowned.

They approached the warehouse and he decided not to think about that psychopath. The warehouse at the port loomed ahead, armed men roaming outside as if they were expecting his arrival. The Capistranos had taken what was his, and he was there to take everything back.

"We are here, Master" David announced.

"I can see that, Dave" Eduardo took out his gun and made sure the bullets were there. He also watched David shove the tablet aside and took out his own gun.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

David raised an eyebrow.

"I’m going to fight too if needed" he responded.

"Stay in the car and wait for me" Eduardo responded, hiding the gun.

"But Master, I’m capable of protecting you"

"I’m not doubting your skills, David. So stay in the car and wait for me. It’s an order" Eduardo’s voice was firm. David lowered his head and silently mumbled.

"Yes, Master"

.

The moment Eduardo stepped out of the car, a dozen armed men stood waiting. At the centre was the head of the Capistrano, a middle-aged man with a hard expression, his silver-streaked hair slicked back. He was there himself.

Eduardo remembered him. He has seen him at a company event once when he was Carlo. He had loaned the owner the capital to start up the company, but this sly-middle-aged man managed to scam the owner into signing a contract that made the Capistrano the new owner of the company after the opening.

The innocent owner had no idea how he lost his company with just one signature. He read the contract, but he hadn’t seen a clause that was written in small font size, claiming that if he didn’t pay back the loan he took a week after opening the company, the company would be owned by the Capistranos.

’This bastard old man...’ Eduardo gritted his teeth, standing in front of him.

"Eduardo Ivanov," the man drawled, arms crossed. "You’re a bold one, coming here like this."

Eduardo smirked. "I don’t do well with thieves. You have something that belongs to me. Besides, you should be the bold one as you dared to step foot into a country that doesn’t belong to you"

"Haha! I guess you know a lot about me" The Capistrano master chuckled. "And about your goods... Finders keepers."

Eduardo’s expression darkened.

"You know very well those materials were never yours. You didn’t buy them, you didn’t negotiate for them. You stole them like the coward that you are."

The Capistrano master sighed and gestured lazily around the warehouse.

"Business is business, Ivanov. I needed materials, and they just so happened to be available. You weren’t guarding them well enough. If I were you, I’d consider this a lesson learned."

Eduardo clenched his jaw.

"Hand them over now, and we can walk away without unnecessary bloodshed. You know I don’t want war, but I won’t tolerate disrespect."

The Capistrano master laughed.

"War? Oh, Eduardo Ivanov, you still have so much to learn about the way things work in our world. Respect is taken, not given. And right now, it seems you’re the one lacking it."

He had spoken in Italian language, and he expected Eduardo not to understand a single word that he said. Eduardo’s men who also didn’t understand anything that was said, shifted, hands inching toward their weapons. The tension thickened like smoke.

Eduardo stepped forward, lowering his voice as he responded with Italian language.

"I’m giving you one last chance. Either return what’s mine, or I take it by force."

The Capistrano master’s smile faded.

"You really surprise me, Eduardo Ivanov. How are you able to understand my native language?" He asked.

"Does that matter when you’re going to die anyway?"

"Are you serious about this?" He asked and there was no response from Eduardo. "Fine. But you should know, I didn’t come unprepared."

A sharp whistle rang through the air. More Capistrano men emerged from the shadows, guns drawn. Eduardo’s men reacted instantly, weapons raised. A moment of eerie silence passed, then...

Gunfire erupted.

The warehouse exploded into chaos as bullets zipped through the air, ricocheting off metal crates. Eduardo ducked behind the cover, drawing his new gun and firing precise shots. He saw two of his men fall, but he had no time to grieve. His focus was on survival. He had no idea how many men he was fighting, but there were over twenty of them. He had brought just ten of them with him.

’How could this old fart ship a whole bunch of armed men into the country? Fuck!’

A knife whizzed past his ear, carving itself in a wooden crate beside him. He snapped out his thoughts and turned in time to see a figure approaching... a woman with long, raven-black hair and a whip coiled in her hand, its edges gleaming with small, razor-sharp blades.

The Flirty Demoness.

Eduardo’s eyes widened at her appearance.
