The Mafia Prince And His Reincarnated Nemesis
Chapter 125: I Must Not Fall In Love!

Chapter 125: I Must Not Fall In Love!

Eduardo spent the whole day on his bed, thanks to Viola. She didn’t let him even lift a finger. His father visited him and also informed him that the culprit responsible for poisoning him was found dead in his room.

Eduardo didn’t care much about it, but he just thanked his father. At least, he knew he was in safe hands when he was with his father and Viola, but Fabio?

He remembered the real Eduardo’s warning and threw his legs off the bed when it was already late in the evening.

"You shouldn’t get out of bed" David said to him.

Eduardo raised his head to meet his gaze. He didn’t even remember that David was in his room with him.

"I’m fine" he responded and sprung up. He staggered and David rushed to help him. Eduardo stopped him and stood properly.

"You don’t have to touch me to do your job. If it’s inconvenient for you, just quit" he said and walked towards the balcony. He opened it and looked at the left side of the compound. That was where the garden was.

The breeze was warm and Eduardo leaned on the rails.

He was bored.

He has been locked in his room for more than twenty-four hours already. It wasn’t his first time. He has always been bored, even when he was Carlo.

He worked at his father’s company from morning till evening. Instead of going back home to sleep, he would hang around with Marcello at his club.

Marcello was the opposite definition of Carlo. He was lazy and spent his time doing nothing but shopping, clubbing, and flirting around with both men and women. All Carlo does is work, work and more work.

"Do I have anything on my schedule tomorrow?" He asked David.

"I’m afraid I have no idea, young master. The boss is the one responsible for that" he responded, standing by the balcony door. Eduardo turned to look at David and he turned his head away, embarrassed.

He didn’t realise it at first, but Eduardo left his shirt unbuttoned. He was just used to doing that. His washboard abs seemed hard without touching it. He had a tattoo of his name on his waist, but there was a scar there.

"Boss? You mean Fabio?" Eduardo asked, sliding his fingers into his hair, as the breeze kept playing with it.

"Yes. But, I heard you might have something to do tomorrow. You need to shop for more clothes and other things you might need"

"That’s true. I didn’t bring any clothes with me and this one is too tight that I can’t button it" he stared at his body.

"Oh..." David realised. "I thought you had a fetish for showing off your body"

"Do you see me as a pervert?" Eduardo smiled, leaning against the rails.

David was lost for a second after seeing the smile on Eduardo’s face. His heart started to thump hard in his chest. It took him half a minute to realise he was staring at Eduardo. Eduardo tilted his head innocently as David turned immediately and headed into his room.

"Did I say anything bad?" He muttered.

David stood by the door, hiding his reddened face.

’This can’t be happening. No way...’

He thought to himself. He can’t bring himself to fall for a man. He doesn’t want to be called that name again; manwhore.

Even if the person who always called him that was dead, he couldn’t afford to be called that name again.

A few years ago, before he started working for Fabio, he was the son of a successful businesswoman. His mother was beautiful and wealthy. She had the largest jewellery shop in the country. She had everything, except a husband.

David had lost his father in a plane crash when he was just five. He left everything to his wife. Since she was busy, she never had the time to remarry or think about any relationship.

That was until she fell in love with someone at a party. She wasted no time in proposing to him first and he agreed.

They lived together, and David was happy that he finally had a father. At school, his classmates bullied him, calling him a fatherless child. But, everything stopped when he finally had a father figure.

Everything was going smoothly till he turned eighteen. David graduated from high school and was preparing to go to college. He received a lot of gifts from his father, even more than his mother. He thought it was just some fatherly love like other children received; unknown to him, his stepfather was interested in him.

David was smart to realise at first, and when he told his mother, she overlooked it, claiming there was no way her husband would cheat on her.

David found every way possible to avoid his father, but he kept on doing creepy things. He would crawl on his bed at midnight whenever everyone was sleeping or slide his feet up David’s leg when having meals together.

David could no longer take it anymore. He wanted to confront his father, but he forced himself on David. When his mother caught them, she blamed her son for seducing her husband.

Since his mother trusted her husband so much, he continued to make a move on David till he earned the name manwhore.

He left the house, and a few years later, he heard that his parents died in an accident. His mother’s business has also collapsed. There was no way he could save it.

All of his mother’s properties were sold to clear the debts she had, and that’s why David was left with nothing.

From them, he started looking for a job. But the jobs he found made him uncomfortable till he found Fabio. He made a promise to himself that he would have nothing to do with men but...

’Why am I breaking that promise whenever I’m around him?’

He turned around to look at Eduardo, who was still enjoying the breeze on the balcony.

After a few minutes, he returned claiming it was cold. He crawled to his bed and covered himself with a duvet.

"I’ll leave now" David adjusted his duvet and clapped his hands, as the lights automatically turned off. He turned to leave and a hand grabbed his wrist.

"Turn it back on. I... I can’t sleep when it’s dark"

"Oh, I’m sorry, young master" David turned the lights back on.

"Thank you" Eduardo let go of his wrist and waved him off. David walked out of the room, touching the wrist Eduardo grabbed earlier. He leaned against the door as a smile was about to appear on his face, but it suddenly vanished after he heard Fabio’s voice.

"Is everything going accordingly?" He asked.

"Huh?" David raised his eyebrows, acting confused.

"Are you making him fall in love with you?" He asked.

David averted his gaze from Fabio.

"Yes, I’m trying my best" he replied, but deeply...

’I think I’m the one falling in love instead’

"I don’t need your best, David. Make it work perfectly. You have until his ceremony. Do you understand?"

David nodded his head. He doesn’t know what Fabio was up to this time. All he has to do is do as he is ordered.

"We’ll be leaving for the mall tomorrow by 10am. We’ve booked the whole building for three hours, that way, there’ll be no one trying to assassinate him. Make sure to prepare"

"Yes, boss", he bowed. He raised his head and saw that Fabio had left.

"If anyone is trying to hurt him, it should be you... Don’t act so holy, boss" he murmured and looked at the door one more time before heading to his room.

.

.

The next morning, Eduardo was dressed up to go to the mall. He woke up earlier than expected to have breakfast with his family.

Viola’s eyes couldn’t stop sparkling, seeing her brother with a black top and a leather jacket. The top looked so tight on him, of course, it was borrowed.

"You look so hot, Eddy. Ten out of ten" Viola gave him a thumbs up.

"You both should head out together, wouldn’t it be great?" Antonio suggested.

"I wish I could but I have some unfinished business to do. I’ll be busy for the whole of today" she sighed heavily.

Antonio hummed, rubbing his chin.

"Wouldn’t it be better to go back to the States and deal with them personally?"

The dining room became quiet. Viola wished to go back, but she didn’t know what she would meet when she returned. There’s no way she could leave her innocent, cute younger brother in the hands of that monster with a fake smile.

"I’ll return after my brother becomes the heir," she said.

"I could send a jet to pick you up before the ceremony. It’s just a twelve hours flight" he said. She wasn’t concerned about the flight. She just didn’t want to leave Eduardo alone. But, she has important things to do and they were all related to her business.

"I’ll think about it" she responded.

"That’s good" he smiled.

"Why does it look like you’re sending me away, father?" She raised a brow, slamming her hand on the table.

"Huh? No way. Why would I do that to my precious daughter?" Her father replied calmly.

"When did I become your precious daughter? Two weeks ago?"

"Haha! Vivi, don’t joke like that"

They bickered and Eduardo smiled, watching them. This was something the real Eduardo was supposed to be experiencing, but, due to his death...

He sighed and stopped thinking of it. He heard footsteps getting closer to him.

"Shall we head to the mall now, young master?" Fabio asked.

"Sure" he responded and sprung up.

"I’ll be back," he said to his family. Antonio and Viola stopped bickering and waved at Eduardo.

"Make sure you buy a lot of things. Spend daddy’s money!" Viola shouted.

Eduardo didn’t know what to say, he walked out and saw the cars that lined up in the compound.

"Are you sure we’re going to the mall? Why are there a lot of guards?"

"It’s all for your safety. Don’t worry, as long as we’re with you, nothing will happen. I promise, young master" he smiled.

"Again with the fake smile. Your words aren’t assuring enough. Even if anything happens, I can protect myself" he said and entered the car.

Fabio grinned and slammed the door close.

David saw the look on Fabio’s face and was concerned.

’I hope he didn’t plan anything stupid this time’
