Chapter 201: Chapter 201 I Like Yellow Things_1
"Looking for a gift to give!" Susu answered.
"Why don’t you just go buy a gift?" Huo Ting said.
"I don’t have money to buy a gift," Susu replied.
"You don’t have money? Then use mine, I have a lot," he said.
"Oh, okay," Susu nodded.
Huo Ting stepped forward, looking at the two large wooden chests with curiosity, "What’s in these two big chests?"
"One is the precious gift from the uncles, and the other is something yellow that I like," Susu said.
"Something yellow you like?"
Yellow? What is that?
Huo Ting grew even more curious.
"Yeah!" Susu nodded, then grabbed the metal handles on the sides of the wooden chest and lifted it, offering it to Huo Ting, "Tingting, do you want to see?"
The chest was larger than Susu herself, and it looked very dangerous the way she was handling it.
"Give it to me," Huo Ting said, reaching out to take it.
"Okay," Susu let go.
"Bang—"
With a loud crash, the chest hit the floor, producing a loud noise.
Huo Ting was stunned.
Seeing how easily Susu managed it, he thought the chest was light!
As soon as Susu released her grip, the chest smashed straight onto the ground, and the little strength he was applying was completely insufficient to hold it!
Fortunately, the Qin Family’s old house wasn’t built shoddily; had the floors been of poorer quality, they might not have withstood such a heavy blow!
The loud noise alarmed the adults in the house.
Butler Liu, along with several bodyguards, rushed anxiously into Susu’s room.
"What’s going on? Young Master, Miss Susu, are you both alright?" Butler Liu asked anxiously.
"We’re fine, go out, don’t disturb us," Huo Ting ordered.
He certainly didn’t want anyone to witness his embarrassing moment.
It was already bad enough to lose face in front of the little one, let alone other people.
Butler Liu looked around for a while and only noticed a few broken pieces on the room’s floor.
After ensuring that Huo Ting and Susu were indeed alright, he took the bodyguards and left.
After the irrelevant people left, Huo Ting, stubbornly curious, tried lifting the chest again.
He exerted all his strength, his tender little face turning red with the effort.
The chest didn’t move an inch.
Then he tried to push the chest.
Bracing his feet against the ground, he pushed the chest with all his might.
He was almost out of breath pushing it, yet the chest still didn’t budge.
Huo Ting stopped, panting and looking from the chest back to Susu.
Although that woman was wrong and hateful to curse at Susu, calling her a little monster, she wasn’t wrong about Susu’s strength.
So what exactly was inside this chest? With intense curiosity, Huo Ting opened the chest.
What met his eyes was a pile of yellow...
Gold bars!!!
An entire chest full of gold bars!!!
"Little thing, did you just say you have no money?"
"Right, I have no money," she said.
"Then what is this?" Huo Ting asked, pointing to the gold bars inside the chest.
"Gold!"
"Good, so you do recognize gold," he remarked.
"Of course, gold is pretty!" Susu liked gold very much; she had liked it since she was a child, even back when she was Bai Ze.
As for banknotes, Susu didn’t care for them at all; she couldn’t even recognize all the numbers! To her, banknotes were just green and colorful pieces of paper with numbers written on them.
Huo Ting stared at Susu’s clean, little white face and clear eyes for a long time.
He finally concluded that this little guy had no idea what money was about.
She might not have money, but she did have a chest full of gold bars!
Huo Ting couldn’t help but ask, "Do you have any more chests like the one with the gold bars?"
"Yes, my mom and dad have saved them for me!" Susu replied.
"How many?" Huo Ting pursued.
