The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha!
Chapter 89 - 22: The Whole World as Enemy (3) (Second Update)

Chapter 89: Chapter 22: The Whole World as Enemy (3) (Second Update)

"I must remind you, summoning and controlling one hundred Undead Knights is already your limit. Any more would exceed your capacity. And I am not permitted to offer you help," Catherine’s voice echoed in Gray’s mind.

"Don’t worry, the Holy Spirit does not allow it, but the Demon Lord does. As long as you are willing to fully embrace darkness, I will lend you my power. Perhaps not only that, but the Demon Lord will also send more powerful demons to assist you. You could summon thousands of Undead Knights, and humans united across the continent wouldn’t be your match! You could do anything you want, and no one would be able to stop you!" Vivian’s voice also resonated in Gray’s mind.

"Gray would never turn to darkness!" Catherine retorted.

"Really? If it were me, I would turn to darkness. You abandoned him, and yet you still demand unwavering faith from him?" Vivian sneered.

"We did not abandon him!"

"Refusing to help isn’t abandoning?"

"You!"

"Gray, listen to me. Such justice isn’t worth defending. You bestow justice upon others, but who gives you justice? Embrace the darkness! Our Demon Lord is very fond of you! We’re willing to support you in many endeavors, like cracking the skull of the Pope!"

"Shut up!"

"You shut up! You didn’t show up when you should have, and now you have the gall to talk! Hmph! Even a succubus can’t stand it!"

Gray stood in the cathedral, receiving the greetings of the residents of Lion King City, while Catherine and Vivian’s voices continued their noisy argument in his mind.

Beside him, Shelley, holding Gray’s arm, whispered, "You just woke up and got out of bed, are you really okay?"

"Don’t worry, I’m really fine," Gray answered softly.

"This is Chebman, president of the Lion King City Chamber of Commerce. Weber is also the president of the Isaac Chamber of Commerce and the richest man in Lion King City, apart from the Royal Family, mainly engaged in fabric trade."

The old man took off his hat and greeted Gray, "Honorable Holy Knight, it’s a great honor to meet you. On behalf of the Isaac Chamber of Commerce, I extend my sincerest greetings to you. Please take care of your health, as it concerns the hearts of the residents of Lion King City. The Isaac Chamber of Commerce is at your service."

"Thank you," Gray nodded.

At Carl’s direction, the old man moved away.

Another tall and thin man with a little mustache and dressed in opulent attire approached Gray.

"This is Baron Ericsson. The Ericsson family owns extensive estates around Lion King City."

"Honorable Holy Knight, it is a great honor to meet you. On behalf of the Ericsson family, I extend our most sincere greetings. May the Holy Spirit be with you. If you need any assistance from the Ericsson family, please do not hesitate to ask."

At Carl’s direction, the tall, thin man also stepped aside.

"This is..." Carl had not finished his introduction when a middle-aged man, looking uncouth, began shouting himself, "Carter, the butcher from Bayaya Meat Shop! I came specifically to see if you’re still alive! They all had someone else queue up for them, but I came in person!"

Carl coughed heavily twice.

Looking embarrassed, the butcher quickly composed himself and, imitating others, respectfully said, "I, I personally thank you for dealing with that bastard Dadar! And, well done! I support you in taking down those King Dukes! From now on, your meat is free!"

Then, just like the others, the butcher was ushered away, still turning back to wave his fist in support at Gray.

"Who is Dadar?" Gray asked Carl.

"A thug who extorted protection fees everywhere," Carl whispered.

People came one after another; there were so many that each person only had a little bit of time. In this respect, the Silver Moon Knight Order was fair. Whether a commoner or a wealthy merchant, everyone only had a few minutes.

People came from all walks of life.

There were little children, brought by their dads to receive blessings from the Holy Knight.

There were street vendors, coming to thank the Silver Moon Knight Order for bringing the best security Lion King City had ever seen.

There were young people wanting to join the Silver Moon Knight Order.

There were old ladies thanking the Silver Moon Knight Order for helping their cows give birth.

"Helping cows give birth?" Gray was stunned for a moment, seemingly recalling something.

Of course, there wasn’t time to ask questions; this had been agreed upon from the start.

Catherine and Vivian were still arguing.

"Gray, don’t listen to her. She’s just a demon! Having you fall is precisely what they want! Although I can’t help you, if you’re willing to make peace with the church, I could try to assist you."

"Gray doesn’t need that kind of help, thanks! If we can win by fighting, why make peace? Those old men in the church are lambs waiting to be slaughtered, and only by chopping them down can justice truly be served!"

"You’re going too far! Don’t you know how dangerous his situation is right now? No one on the entire continent stands by his side!"

"A true Holy Knight only needs justice by their side!"

"Catherine," Gray suddenly spoke.

"Huh? Did you change your mind?" Catherine was taken aback.

"You said no one stands by my side?"

"Isn’t that the case?"

"But, there are obviously many people standing by my side, aren’t there?" Gray said softly, "Shelley, Yilin, the Black Cat, Tenidas, Count Gruglu, the entire Silver Moon Knight Order, and many, many others. Not only that, but look at all these people tonight; I don’t know any of them, yet they all stand by my side."

Catherine said helplessly, "Gray, you need the support of real influential figures. This has been proven time and again in our thousands of years of missionary work. These people may stand by you, but they can’t help you accomplish anything."

"Their support is enough, isn’t it? Without their support, what would be the point of everything I do? With their support, my heart can be steadfast enough to keep moving forward."

Catherine had nothing more to say. After a long pause, she could only say, "Gray, though it may be inappropriate for me to say this, it’s the truth. I must tell you, humans as a species have never been aligned with greatness. And the lower classes are often the least educated. You shouldn’t expect a bunch of illiterates to understand integrity. If you lose power one day, they’ll abandon you without hesitation. I’ve seen this kind of support many times; it never comes to fruition."

The audience continued.

There were caravan leaders looking for business opportunities.

There were old men whose long-standing wrongful cases had been resolved, coming to thank the Holy Knight.

There were middle-aged women wanting to marry off their daughters to a Silver Moon Knight.

Gray said softly, "’If they cannot read, then teach them. If they do not understand integrity, then educate them. Rather than complaining or mocking them.’ Isn’t that written in the Bible? That’s what you taught me, too."

"But Gray, you don’t have that much time."

"Time is something you earn," Gray said firmly.

Catherine said nothing more.

The saint, truly stepping towards the divine... in fact, almost everything Gray said had been taught by Catherine. Talking to Gray was like talking to her own heart. It was like conversing with the divine itself, an indescribable sense of powerlessness.

She had nothing more to say.

But Vivian still had plenty to say: "Gray, don’t listen to that hypocritical Angel. I will always be by your side, waiting for the day you are willing to embrace darkness. As long as you speak, the Demon Lord will bestow his power upon you. If by that time you’re already a true saint, we could even accept you into eternity. Yes, you heard correctly, the abyss, eternity. We would be more than happy. There will be nothing in this world that can bind you, and you will become the first Lich to enter eternity..."

The audience continued until late at night, ending only when everyone else was exhausted.

In fact, many people were still outside Pearce Cathedral, but if they hadn’t interrupted, it might have gone on forever.

Though the weather was cold, the turnout was far larger than expected.

Gray had no choice but to stand on the balcony and wave, accepting their cheers. Bob stood right beside him.

It wasn’t until after two in the morning that people reluctantly began to disperse.

The little group from White City was also getting ready to rest.

Gray suddenly said, "What shall we do next?"

"Next?" Yilin was taken aback.

Not just Yilin, everyone around stopped and stared.

Gray looked around, filled with enthusiasm.

"Next, isn’t it time to go back to sleep?" Shelley said in a small voice. "It’s almost three o’clock."

Everyone stared at Gray, bewildered.

"But we are walking on the path of defending justice, aren’t we?" Gray said righteously. "The war has just begun. I feel we should do something, not waste time on such meaningless things like sleep!"

Count Gruglu, somewhat dazed, asked, "What can we do when everyone is asleep, and the enemy is far away?"

"Shut up! Have you slept so much that you’ve gone stupid? Everyone needs sleep, even humans. Even cats need sleep," the Black Cat grumbled nearby.

"Alright then, good night, everyone!" Gray waved and then turned and walked away.

The Silver Moon Knights all understood and followed along.

Yilin smiled with relief, sighing, "It seems Gray has indeed recovered, still the same as before."

Shelley pouted indignantly, "He didn’t even walk me to my room?"

The small group from White City parted ways, each returning to their rooms and falling asleep. They didn’t know that about half an hour later, the Silver Moon Knight Order had already gathered under the cover of darkness in the back garden of Pearce Cathedral.

...

"We need to do something for justice!"

"Yes!"

"Such a beautiful night would be wasted if we didn’t do anything!"

"Exactly!"

"Duke Fernandes’s troops are only fifty kilometers away, let’s target him!"

"Alright!"

The Black Cat watched in shock from the side.

Mounted on their horses, the sleepless members of the Silver Moon Knight Order set out excitedly!

Thus began the world-famous, fear-inducing twenty-four-hour constant harassing assault tactics of the Silver Moon Knight Order. They proved to the world that there truly was a group of "people" willing to fight tirelessly for justice day and night.
