Chapter 199: Chapter 19: Lich (3)

"Gray..." The Black Cat’s voice grew weak, tinged with a sense of despair.

The wind blew gently, swaying the surrounding grass and trees.

Gray rode his horse silently, standing still, his skull exposed under the sunlight, unnervingly so.

Vivian, who had concealed herself, covered her mouth and floated aside, while the dwarves carried by the Silver Moon Knights on their backs stared in shock. The Silver Moon Knights, too, looked at Gray in astonishment.

The whole world fell silent.

Neither Belinda nor Zeda could move. This was an outcome they had never anticipated, the Lich Knight revealing his own mask.

In the distance, the hidden Liches watching from the treetops cheered.

"Hahaha, finally, the mask is off! He truly is one of us! A brave Lich!"

"So cool! I love it! I want to paint this scene!"

"Fight! Lich Knight! Let the world feel your wrath!"

"Do you think he’ll change humanity’s view of us Liches? Make them think we’re all about justice?"

"I think he will! Hahaha! After all, he’s a perfect Knight!"

"He’s really a Lich..." Morca covered her mouth with all four hands, unable to believe her eyes.

"Hiss—!" Tenidas reared up, shaking his head violently, sending the armor on his head flying, revealing a ghastly skull.

The Silver Moon Knights one by one silently took off their helmets, tossing them aside.

The gentle sunlight quietly shone down.

Just a moment ago, they had been the renowned, righteous Silver Moon Knight Order across the continent, but now, they had turned into a complete Undead Army, standing under the sunlight. Though the sunlight was far from ready to embrace them, they nonetheless removed their helmets, showing the world their true faces.

The expressions of those in the cavalry opposite, including the Silver-armored Knight, contorted as though they might faint at any moment.

Gray slightly opened his jaw and said softly, "From today onwards, I will no longer hide. If this is fate, I will face it. I am a Lich, and this is my Silver Moon Knight Order. I may not be a saint, and I may not be a Holy Knight, but I am a Knight, and no one can deny that. I will fight as a Knight until destruction befalls. Tell me, how do you wish to treat me? Will you challenge me? For your justice?"

The Silver-armored Knight’s eyes widened, his face turning from red to purple to a ghastly white. His mouth dropped open, but no words came out. That was visible terror.

"You chased me, remember? Years ago." Gray, staring at the Silver-armored Knight, rode his horse forward, step by step, and said softly, "Back then, I ran because I just wanted to live, to avoid conflict. Now I will no longer run, because I have found faith. I want to protect it. Will you still treat me the same as before?"

No one answered him, as fear had swiftly consumed his enemies’ minds.

"He’s truly a Lich! Run—!"

Some cavalry turned their horses to flee, however, Vivian, expressionless, extended a hand and cast a spell, binding all the horses’ legs firmly. The cavalrymen fell from their horses, not one, but an entire team, toppling like dominoes along with their mounts. It was a scene of ghostly cries and howls, utter chaos.

The Silver-armored Knight stared blankly at Gray, his eyes twitching, his mouth twitching, his expression contorting.

Gray rode forward step by step.

"You! Don’t come any closer! Don’t come any closer!" The Silver-armored Knight, terrified, tried to run. Finding his horse immobile, he hastily dismounted, only to discover his own legs were also bound. Like the other cavalry, he fell to the ground, crawling, struggling, crying out. The entire cavalry corps was in the same condition.

The battle had not even begun, yet they were already defeated.

The Silver Moon Knight Order members watched quietly and coldly, looking at this group who had just moments ago vowed to uphold justice, now desperately trying to survive. It was laughable, yet it brought them no joy of victory, only a sense of helplessness.

The Silver-armored Knight, flipping himself over, shouted facing Gray, "Don’t come any closer! Evil Lich! Don’t come closer! The Holy Spirit will punish you! One day, you will be justly judged!"

"One day? Why not now? Don’t you want to challenge me for your justice?" Gray, riding his horse, approached him step by step, drawing the sword from his waist with a grating sound.

The sword’s tip slowly approached the throat of the Silver-armored Knight lying on the ground. He convulsed, eyes wide in terror, staring at Gray, not daring to move.

The chaotic cavalrymen, scattered and toppled, fell silent, all staring blankly at Gray.

"Tell me, do you want to challenge me? I’m giving you the chance to challenge me, to protect the justice you speak of." Gray gently lifted the Silver-armored Knight’s chin with his sword’s tip.

The cold sensation quickly spread from the Silver-armored Knight’s chin to the rest of his body.

After a slight tremble, the Silver-armored Knight’s trousers were soaked. The water seeped into the ground, and he trembled and cried, "No, it’s impossible, you can’t be that Lich... He was weak, he couldn’t possibly summon so many Undead Knights..."
