The Lich of Glory Knight Spirit: Moving towards Krimasha! -
Chapter 192 - 16: Black Dragon City (3)
Chapter 192: Chapter 16: Black Dragon City (3)
Directly exposing Gray the Lich’s identity would indeed bring substantial benefits, but it obviously does not align with the principle of maximizing the interests of the Dragon Clan.
However, negotiating with a fanatic is a major issue. After all, true faith, from the beginning, is never something that can be negotiated. Since Gray appeared on the continent, the only person who successfully negotiated and reached an agreement with him was Pope Augustus III. That was only because Augustus III had a similar view to Gray on certain matters. Without this, no matter how capable Augustus III was, he wouldn’t have been able to make Gray submit.
This is because there is a vow in the Knight’s oath – sacrifice, sacrifice for comrades, sacrifice for faith. When your opponent takes pride in sacrifice, there seems to be no room for compromise.
This left the Dragon Clan, known for being petty, calculative, and profit-driven, extremely troubled.
Cedric V had no choice but to arrange for Gray to stay in Black Dragon City. For a while, both sides seemed to be at a stalemate. There was no way to start the second round of negotiations.
Meanwhile, Morca in Lion King City was facing a huge "crisis."
...
Midnight, Morca’s manor.
In the pitch-dark room lit only by a single candle, a group of Liches surrounded Morca. With their horrifying skulls, ghastly pale and thin bone claws, the sight was beyond terrifying in the candlelight.
Morca had seen this scene countless times. Yet, he still couldn’t help but get goosebumps. After all, he was just a normal human, a poor novelist.
Over the months, although he wasn’t a Lich, he looked even more like one. Thin body, haggard appearance, deep-set eyes; he looked like a living skeleton.
Have you ever heard of readers giving an author stimulants to keep him awake so he can focus on writing? That’s what the Liches did. They even assigned him a special Lich doctor to ensure he wouldn’t suddenly die from any strange drugs. They were utterly ruthless.
"We don’t like the story ’Lich Knight and His Seventy-two Wives,’ please rewrite it," Bruto, the leader, sat on the opposite side of Morca’s desk, gently pushing the written book back with a bony finger.
"It also includes ’The Adventure of Lich Knight’s One Hundred and One Sons.’" Morca pushed the book back, forcing himself to continue.
"We don’t like ’The Adventure of Lich Knight’s One Hundred and One Sons’ either," Lucy said emotionlessly, pushing it back again.
"Actually, I wrote another version," Morca pulled out another book and pushed it over again. "This is ’The Story of Lich Knight’s Ascension to Become a Holy Spirit.’"
"Too extravagant, we don’t want to read it," Simon pushed it back once more.
"So what on earth do you want to read?" Morca was on the verge of tears.
Pao Pao stood next to him, too terrified to move.
"We want to read ’Lich Knight Sequel Two,’" Bruto said with folded arms.
"But ’Lich Knight Sequel’ is already finished."
"We said Sequel Two," a Lich emphasized.
"He hasn’t had any new stories happen, what can I do?"
"He already went to Black Dragon City, right? That’s a new adventure, and we’ve brought you all the updates," a Lich said, spreading his hands.
"But the whole story isn’t complete yet, I can’t write it now. There are still too many unclear things."
"We don’t care. You just have to keep writing, or we’ll abandon the book!" a Lich shouted.
"Oh, that would actually be great," Morca almost burst into tears of joy.
"We will kill you before abandoning the book!" a Lich threatened menacingly.
"Well... that actually wouldn’t be so bad, considering how life is worse than death right now."
"We’ll kill you, make you a Lich, then abandon the book. You’ll still have to keep writing, and we’ll come back when we have free time. In fact, we always have free time," a Lich added eerily by Morca’s ear.
"Um... then please let me think about it carefully," Morca scratched at his scalp until it almost bled, his hair falling out, on the verge of turning completely bald.
This group of readers was truly terrifying. In just a few months, Morca had already gone mad three times. What was even more terrifying was that the Liches healed him each time...
You have to admit, the Liches’ medical skills were top-notch. Healing a human was child’s play for them. To speed up Morca’s writing, they even gave him two more arms. So now, Morca had four arms, turning into a "non-human creature," unable to even leave the house.
"Hm, just right to concentrate on writing novels," the Liches commented.
*He couldn’t faint, couldn’t die, and even if he went mad, he would be cured. He couldn’t leave the house. What kind of life was this?*
*Morca could only quietly gaze at the terrifying readers in front of him, swallowing his tears of remorse silently.*
*If possible, Morca really, really wished he had never written this novel.*
"So, what exactly do you want now? The new story hasn’t happened yet, and the filler I write, you don’t like. How about you leave for a while and I’ll continue when the story unfolds?"
"No, we can’t wait!"
"Then what should I do?" Morca spread his four hands, looking resigned to his fate.
"We suggest taking him directly to Black Dragon City, let’s set off now!" a Lich proposed. "Get closer, maybe it will inspire him, and be helpful for the creation of the story."
