Chapter 129 - 15: Holy Knight vs Holy Knight (3) (Second Update)

Chapter 129: Chapter 15: Holy Knight vs Holy Knight (3) (Second Update)

Gray entered the tent, Levi entered the tent, Catherine and Julian also entered the tent, and Vivian went in as well. Shelley also wanted to follow in but was stopped by Carl.

"Can’t I go in?"

"No."

"Why can’t I? I’m the fiancée of a Holy Knight. That little girl who appeared out of nowhere can go in, but I can’t."

"Yes." Carl replied unwaveringly.

Reluctantly, Shelley had to step back, while the Silver Moon Knights set up a perimeter around Gray’s tent, forbidding anyone from approaching.

...

"Is that another Holy Knight?" Gene II’s eye twitched.

"Yes, Lord Bishop said so." The soldier who went to inquire replied.

"Two Holy Knights appearing here simultaneously, have we become bargaining chips in the power struggle between Holy Knight Gray and the Church?" Gene II looked over at his daughter.

Camilla cautiously bowed her head.

...

"This should be good news for us. A Holy Knight loyal to the Pope has appeared, at least it means we have one more choice. Having one more choice means we have leverage for negotiation." Turning his face, Lusien V looked at the attendant beside him and instructed, "Have the Bishop come see me, I need him to arrange a meeting with this new Holy Knight."

"Yes!" The attendant turned and left.

Prince Arthur watched quietly on the side.

...

In the camp, Andrew, holding a wand, with arms crossed, leaned against a cart parked in a corner of the camp. He seemed entirely detached, as if it had nothing to do with him.

The dwarves were tense to the extreme, as were the Silver Moon Knights.

Jones and Dora had gone back to their tasks, while Shelley still looked utterly confused.

"So who exactly is that little girl? Why did she suddenly appear at my Holy Knight’s side? And they seem quite familiar with each other."

...

Inside the tent, Levi plopped down in the seat that should have belonged to Gray, leaned against the chair back, picked up the fruit knife and apple on the table, and began peeling, with an attitude of waiting for a show to start.

Julian, still suspended in mid-air, asked softly, "With so many dark creatures, do you have anything to say?"

"You don’t speak, let me handle this," Catherine’s voice echoed in Gray’s mind.

Then Catherine faced Julian and said, "Holy Knights have the privilege of absolving sins, Gray is merely exercising his privilege. These dark creatures have repented, they are atoning for their past actions."

"Including this First-Class Demon Miss?"

"Not including," Vivian tilted her head defiantly and said, "But I don’t think I need your permission to stay here, do I?"

"Of course, we are still in a cease-fire stage. As long as you don’t commit any actions, there’s indeed nothing we can do against you. But," Julian paused, looking at Catherine and Gray, and said softly, "Holy Knights have the right to absolve all sinners, including dark creatures, according to their judgment, but don’t you think it’s a bit excessive to absolve them and then parade them around? After all, they’re dark creatures, if it gets exposed, it would be an extremely serious matter. Moreover, I question what grounds you have for absolving these dark creatures. After all, Levi has been a Holy Knight longer than Gray, how come he has never encountered so many dark creatures?"

Catherine was about to answer, but Vivian interjected, "Staying in the church all day, of course you’ll encounter nothing."

Suddenly, Julian was somewhat angry and turned his head slowly to look at Vivian and said, "Miss Succubus, just because I haven’t driven you away doesn’t mean you can join our discussion."

"So what?" Vivian took out the orb from her pocket, slipped it onto her finger, and said, "Do you want to fight? I’m ready anytime."

In an instant, the situation threatened to boil over into violence. Catherine was flustered.

Just then, Gray stepped briskly between Julian and Vivian, "Vivian, you can’t go around provoking others like this."

"I just find him annoying."

"You can’t do that," Gray repeated.

"Okay, I’ll listen to you." Vivian smiled as she removed the orb from her finger and put it back in her pocket. Then she continued to look provocatively at Julian.

Julian slowly widened his eyes in disbelief at what he was seeing and hearing. His thoughts were muddled.

Sitting behind him, Levi laughed and clapped his hands, "Impressive. Gray, how did you manage to tame this Miss Succubus? Does she follow your orders?"

Catherine quickly defended, "No, she just insists on following us. I agreed because I was afraid she’d cause trouble. She... she’s trying to sow discord among us."

"No, Catherine, I only listen to Gray. Right? We have a great relationship." Vivian clung to Gray’s arm, continuing to glance provocatively at Julian and Levi.

"So, Gray, are you prepared to impart some knowledge about taming demons to me?" Levi slowly stood up, staring intently at Gray, "Or do you need to explain your relationship with this Miss Succubus to us?"

Catherine didn’t know what to say, and at this moment, it was Gray who remained incomparably calm.

Looking into Levi’s eyes, he spoke softly, "First, I must clarify one point. Everything that happened here has been permitted by the Holy Spirit. Including the inclusion of what you call dark creatures."

"’What we call dark creatures’? Do you mean that the reason they are considered dark creatures is just because we think so, and not because they inherently are?"

"Yes, that’s exactly what I mean. Darkness or not should be determined by the belief in one’s heart. Every person here prays, attends services, studies the Bible, and after receiving the light of the Holy Spirit, they have never harmed others’ interests for any unjust reason. We possess all the necessary qualifications of believers mentioned in the Bible. If you call them dark creatures, you are accusing the believers of the Holy Sect of being dark creatures."

"Wow!" Vivian gave Gray a thumbs up, "But next time, can you not casually tell others that I pray and attend services?"

Levi was dumbfounded, taking step after step back until his heel hit the chair and he stopped, looking at Gray in shock.

Gray continued, "No matter what, as long as someone is willing to receive the light of the Holy Spirit, we should accept them."

"Is this what you’re doing now?"

"Yes. I believe it is right, and have already inquired with the Holy Spirit."

"What did the Holy Spirit say?"

"The Holy Spirit said they would neither stop me nor support me."

"Alright, I get it." Levi turned his face toward Julian, "Do you have any other questions?"

Julian remained silent, floating beside Catherine.

Everyone looked at him.

After a while, he spoke softly, "Catherine, I would like to know what you think."

"I support Gray," Catherine said expressionlessly.

"Then I have no more questions." Julian slowly closed his eyes, and his figure dissolved into the wind.

Levi smiled, politely tapped his chest armor toward Gray, looked at the half-peeled apple left on the table, and said, "Thanks for your hospitality, I have to leave first. The apple is half-peeled, you’ll have to finish it yourself."

"Thank you."

Turning around, Levi lifted the tent flap and walked out.

...

Mounting his horse, Levi turned his horse’s head and galloped toward Buck Town.

"Did you understand it? He... he’s crazy. He follows the doctrine to the letter, completely by the book. ’A different kind of Holy Knight’ indeed, truly different. Recruiting so many dark creatures and parading them around. My god, I finally understand what our conflict with him truly is. The situation is much more serious than we initially imagined, there’s absolutely no possibility for peace talks. Can you help me reconfirm the Holy Spirit’s stance?"

"What he said should be true. If not, I would have already received an order to kill him long ago."

"Help me confirm it again, I need absolute clarity, or I can’t take any action."

"What action do you want to take? Publicly announce he has many dark creatures by his side?"

"No, that won’t work. We can’t even strip him of his Holy Knight title; announcing this matter would also harm us. But I need him to be utterly ruined. His actions have almost declared war against the Church. I’ll write to the Pope about this soon. If this continues unchecked, he will surely destroy the Church’s reputation sooner or later. In fact, he is already destroying it now. We have only two choices: either strip him of his Holy Knight title and start a holy war against him, or find every possible way to minimize his influence and completely bring down his prestige."

The Julian in his mind remained silent.

...

Catherine exhaled slowly, landed smoothly, and sat on the chair behind her.

"I thought of countless ways to negotiate with him, but we took the hardest stance. We’re definitely going to face big trouble next."

"So, his current focus is that I have a lot of dark creatures around me?" Gray asked.

Catherine nodded slightly.

"If that’s his focus, we had no room to retreat from the start, because I’m also the ’dark creature’ he’s talking about."

"But at least he doesn’t know yet that our scroll’s effect has worked; he thinks you’re human."

Gray remained silent, looking out through the tent window.

Catherine was momentarily stunned.

Vivian quietly lifted her eyelids to glance at Gray.

The Black Cat peeked out from under the makeshift bed in the tent.

After a while, Gray spoke softly, "In the Knight’s Oath, there’s a clause about honor. Honor is more important than the knight’s life. The Silver Moon Knight Order’s knights are upright knights. If anyone wants to slander them, tarnish their honor, label them as dark creatures... according to the oath, as the lord, I am obliged to protect them. I will have no choice but to declare war on the opposing party. No matter who they are."
