"Grandpa, this is my parents’ room; you’d have to climb stairs to go upstairs, and it’s tiring. You can rest here first. Sleep well, and Jiaojiao will wake you up for dinner in the evening," Ruan Jiaojiao said as she pulled Grandpa Shu to the edge of the bed.

Seeing that he was once again furrowing his brows and taking stock of the room, she knew he was probably finding fault with it. Of course, she also knew this fault-finding definitely wasn’t directed at their house, but rather a disapproval of her father, a farmer who had married his daughter.

She didn’t give him a chance to think too much, removed her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and actively helped unfold the quilt. She knelt beside the pillow and properly assisted him to lie down.

"Grandpa, you sleep. Jiaojiao will stay here with you until you fall asleep, then I’ll go out," she said after he had lied down.

"Okay," responded Grandpa Shu. Despite his dissatisfaction, how could he remain tense with such cajoling from the little one? Obediently, he closed his eyes, which amazed Uncle Wei’an, who was watching from the side.

He had never seen Grandpa Shu so cooperative. Even when the young miss had cajoled him back at home, he would always maintain a stern face, taking a good while before he complied. Yet now, the little miss had so easily coaxed him, and he had become so agreeable?

Indeed, Grandpa Shu was really tired.

After closing his eyes for a short while, he fell asleep and even started to snore lightly.

Ruan Jiaojiao tiptoed off the bed, put on her shoes, and looking at the man standing beside the bed, she whispered, "Uncle Wei’an, shall we go out?"

Liang Wei’an shook his head, pointing first to Grandpa Shu and then to a chair to the side, indicating he would stay to watch over him.

Ruan Jiaojiao didn’t quite understand, but seeing him sit down, she guessed his intention and quietly left the room on her own.

Outside, the Ruanlin Family was still standing at the door. Seeing Ruan Jiaojiao come out and close the room’s door, they immediately gave her a thumbs-up.
