A carriage was called to take me to Aurelius mansion, I got on and slumped in the seat as I could finally relax after such a long time.

I removed the sapphire earstud reverting back to Reina’s form feeling my body slump over the comfy seats.

My one and half year’s relaxation period brought forth the severe tension and even a life-threatening calamity to me but now that I was past that, I could feel the limitations of the human body catching up to me.

I almost dozed off when I reached home and got down to have Tobias, our Head Butler standing outside along with my maid.

They bowed with a smile and I walked up to them.

"How have you been?" I asked.

"We were fine, thanks to you My Lady. Welcome home." Tobias spoke.

I walked in the house greeted by the servants who seemed happy to have me back, I was expecting Dad to jump on me but he didn’t.

"Where’s Father?" I asked Tobias.

"His Grace is at the palace, My Lady."

"Palace, why?"

"There is a meeting between the nobles so, he was invited." He told me.

I nodded wondering why the palace was holding a meeting all of a sudden, when I realised that it might be for me. The King had promised to give me the title of Marquis for my contribution in building the Magic Portal that would connect Sestia and Mordino.

Soon enough, even I would be summoned to the palace for this.

I needed to catch a break before that.

I went to my room and after a bath, I lay in my bed, I was about to doze off when a notification popped up in front of my eyes.

"Yes," I spoke.

I waited for a moment before the notification disappeared and a blue box appeared with a bow as if it was a gift box. I touched the box and it glowed once before something dropped gently into my hands and I frowned watching it.

"An egg?"

I stared at the white egg that seemed to be twice the size of a normal chicken egg.

"I thought you were giving me a wise familiar, why do I have an egg? Am I supposed to fry it?" I asked.

[Goddess of Wisdom asks you to nurture the egg to get a familiar who will be loyal to you.]

"More like take care of it so that when it hatches, it can imprint on me." I corrected.

[Giver of Gifts wonders what will hatch from the egg.]

"You don’t know?"

[Goddess of Wisdom says it’s for you to find out what familiar you get.]

I sighed as I watched the egg which sat in my palms, there was nothing special or strange about it to be honest. I couldn’t feel any energy from it just the presence of the life inside. I activated the Mana Eyes and tried to look but it seemed to be protected.

I groaned a bit before I lay back in my bed and placed the egg on the pillow, I watched it before I ended up dozing off.

When I woke up I felt the sunlight streaming inside from the windows and I turned to my side feeling the smooth touch of something hard and warm under my palm.

I opened my eyes finding the egg sitting in front of me, I groaned softly before I pushed myself up to the sitting position and stretched hearing the satisfying pops from my joints.

I yawned widely and the door opened revealing Emily, she smiled as she saw me and entered.

"Good morning, My Lady." She greeted me and I rubbed my tired eyes before I realised something strange.

"Morning?"

I had fallen asleep in the noon and it’s morning.

"Yes, My Lady. It seems like you were exhausted." She said and I ran my hand through my hair.

So, I slept for more than 20 hours.

"Why didn’t anyone wake me?" I asked.

"His Grace told us to not wake you," she replied and I got down from the bed.

"Help me get ready, I want to go see Father." I told her and she bowed respectively.

"Yes, My Lady."

I washed my face and got dressed in another dress which seemed a little bit smaller for some reason. The maid eyed me curiously before she smiled.

"I suppose you will need new dresses, My Lady."

I hummed as I saw the shorter sleeves before I stepped out of my room walking up to the dining hall for breakfast. I saw Dad inside waiting for me, he smiled widely before he walked up to me and wrapped his arms around me.

"Welcome back, my little Princess." He murmured.

I closed my eyes absorbing his warmth as he held me tightly to his chest. He seemed skinnier than the last time I saw him.

"Are you not eating well, Father?" I asked as we pulled away and he smiled.

"I’m all right, Reina. But you seem to have grown," he said, "You’re taller now."

I observed him carefully, his hair had some grey streaks that were even more pronounced now and he seemed to have grown a couple more wrinkles on his face.

"It seems like I have been stressing you a lot, Father." I spoke and he chuckled.

"I’m your father, Reina. I’ll be worried regardless." He said.

"Come now, let’s eat." He gestured towards the dining table and we took our seats.

The feast was served and since I was famished I started right away, I could see Dad smiling from the corner of my eye.

"You’ve grown taller and healthier," he commented, "It seems like you too good care of yourself."

I couldn’t possibly tell him why I was suddenly looking healthy nor the fact that I almost died.

"But you didn’t," I responded and he chuckled.

"I’m fine, Reina. Now that you’re here, I’ll be even more fine."

I looked down at my food, slowly growing accustomed to the warmth of his affection. In my past life, I had longed for a father figure, but here, I had not just one, but two—Duke Arthur and Silas. Though Silas was strict, he still showed his concern in his own way. And as an added blessing, I even had a grandfather.

"Why didn’t you let the maids wake me yesterday?" I asked.

"You were sleeping quite deeply and I knew you must have worked really hard so, I wanted you to rest well."

I smiled as I shook my head, "I slept for whole day,"

He shrugged as he ate, "It’s fine as long as you’re home."

I nodded at that.

"So, will you be leaving for some other work soon then?" He asked and I looked at him.

"No, I’ll be staying around." I answered with a smile and his face grew radiant.

"So, how did it go?" He asked.

"It was good, I also brought back a child whom I would introduce to you and Rune soon."

"Did you go see Rune?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I don’t want to distract him so, I won’t go unless I’m really needed there." I said and he nodded looking down at his plate.

"His Majesty has decided to grant Baron Ocean the title and the estate of Marquis Clark." He said and I hummed.

"Was the meeting to announce that to the nobles?" I asked.

"Yes and also Viscount Jordan was executed a couple of weeks ago." He informed and I nodded.

"I heard, I didn’t ask for details but is there any information released as to why?"

"It was said that he was plotting a treason and he and his family were executed." Dad answered.

"There weren’t any details as to what exactly he did, a lot of nobles also have no idea but it seems like the King and Queen... are having issues amongst themselves." He told me and I nodded.

"That’s a good thing, they should be separate, it’s easy to remove both of them once they are separated."

Dad looked at me and I faced him, it was a bad thing to separate a couple, I knew that but this couple was nothing like a couple. If anything these two were better off without each other.

"So, what are you going to do now?" Dad asked.

"I have some pending work at Ryujin mansion and check on Oasis and my lair. I’ll be busy for a couple of days but then it’ll be my normal routine."

"So, you’ll be busy regardless." He spoke looking down and I opened my mouth but then closed it back.

"H-How about you visit Ryujin and Eldarf with me? I’m sure you’ll have fun." I suggested and he looked at me.

"I can visit?"

"Sure, why not? Those are my places so, they’re yours too." I spoke and he beamed.

"Then we could also spend more time together!"

"Yes," I nodded and he grinned happily.

I felt the sensation of warmth spreading in my chest watching him so happy about just spending some time with me.

I might never have experienced such warmth if it weren’t for coming here.
