Chapter 222: 221. Rumble At Florian (2)

Lilly cleaned up the table and I asked her to not disturb me for a couple of hours since I was going to rest.

"All right, Miss." She said with a polite smile and I locked the door from inside before I changed to Ocean’s male form and also my clothes to fit that of my appearance with a cloak.

It was a good thing that I had invisibility pendant so, I put it on before I leapt out of the window.

I flew higher up and got a top view of the estate before I looked around and went towards the market area. I was glad I had a good amount of money on me.

I landed close to the market area and switched off the invisibility before I started walking towards the streets looking around. The place was decorated with various flowers and ribbons and I wondered if there was a festival going on.

The people around seem happy as they are moving about, couples and families. It even put me in a good mood.

I walked past different buildings which were boutiques, restaurants, parlors before I turned and spotted a humble establishment which smelled of delicious food.

I entered without a second thought and ordered a table full of food. The waitress seemed a bit surprised when I told her that it was all for me.

"You have a really big appetite, Mister."

I chuckled, "I’m a man so, I would need to eat more to be strong, right?"

She brought over the dishes I ordered along with something that wasn’t on my list.

The girl seemed like she would be in her early twenties with shoulder length brown hair and curvy but petite body. Her round brown eyes were quite expressive with her infectious smile.

"Um, I didn’t order this," I told her pointing at the beer mug that was placed on the table.

She chuckled, "Well, a grown man also needs a beer to go with his huge appetite."

I laughed along before I pushed the mug away, "Other men might but, I don’t drink."

"What?" She gasped.

"Yes, alcohol is the free ticket to doom so, I stay away from it."

Besides, I was in an underage body.

"Since you ordered a lot the manager has put in this on the house..." She said and I smiled.

"You can bring me something else, maybe... Some pie as a dessert." I suggested and she smiled.

"Sure!"

The place was cozy and warm filled with the mouthwatering scent of food and I could see people enjoying. It wasn’t a large five-star hotel like place but like a tavern where I would be able to eat as much as I pleased at a reasonable price.

I ate up all of the food that was served including some special dishes that came for me since I ordered a lot and also because I could feel people lingering around and ordering more food. The females especially were staring at me with pink faces and I chuckled as I ignored them and focused on food. That was more important.

"Here, you go, your blueberry pie." The waitress placed the pie in front of me.

"Thank you," I said, "Ah, I wanted to ask this, but is there something festival going on here?"

Her eyebrows jumped, "You don’t know? It’s the famous Flower festival of Denril. There is a parade this year and the Saint will be blessing everyone."

I paused for a moment as I heard that. The Saint would be coming out for this parade and bless the people.

"When is this parade?" I asked.

"Hm? This afternoon." She said and I nodded.

I guess, I could sneak a glance at this Saint during this parade.

"Say, why are you alone?" She asked and I hummed.

"Because I’m traveling alone for the time being."

"Who are you traveling with? Your woman?" She asked and I chuckled.

"Nope, I don’t have a woman, I was traveling with my attendant."

"Ah, you must be that type then," she said and I took a bite of the delicious pie.

"What type?" I asked as I chewed.

"The type who goes around meeting women in the places he goes,"

I laughed at that and shook my head, "I’m only a person of business, Miss. I don’t go around meeting women."

"Right, women would be dying to meet you, hm?"

"Can deny that but, I can’t play around as I please."

"Eh? Why?" She smiled coyly making me shake my head.

"Because, I’m waiting for my future partner to come looking for me." I said making her stare at me.

She burst out laughing and the people around turned to look at her, I continued eating.

"So, you’re the type of person who believes in true love."

"Yes,"

No.

"Well, it’s kind of like a dream to have the true love of your life but then again, we cannot be sure if they’ll stay forever, right?" She asked and I hummed.

"Yes,"

Dragons were known to be immortal species and since I had inherited the Dragon’s bloodline and the Supreme Aqua Dragon at that so, I was sure to have a chance at immortality. It was obvious that I was going to spend my eternity either alone or doing tiresome things. Or, maybe I would die while finishing the mission in this world.

Speaking of which, I had no idea what this mission would lead to and if I did fulfill it in future then what would happen with me. Would I die? Or would the life continue?

My Patrons were silent so, I figured that they wouldn’t be answering my questions.

"That woman would be so lucky." The waitress said dragging my attention back to our conversation.

"What woman?"

"Your true love," she said.

"She would have quite a handsome and loyal man," I laughed at that but then I strangely started to think about it.

What about the future? I had planned for way ahead but having a partner in romantic senses was never on my mind. Even in my past life I never dated anyone, not even a fling, I died a virgin so, maybe I would end up the same here as well. The time limit for this mission was in my mid-twenties after all. Maybe I would be discarded after this mission was over.

Still no response from my Patrons so, maybe that was the case.

"Do I?"

I suddenly wanted to drink but I controlled myself and finished eating.

"Thanks for the food, can you bring me the bill now?" I told the waitress and she smiled before she walked away to get the bill.

I paid the bill and was about to step out when the waitress called for me.

"Mister, wait!" I turned to see her rushing towards me.

"Here you go!" She said as she presented me with a card.

"What’s this?" I asked and she turned her head pointing at a table where a group of women sat.

"That lady over there, she told me to give it to you," she said and I sighed.

"I’m sorry I know you are not that kind of person and I even told those ladies that they shouldn’t but... They didn’t listen to me." She said looking down at her shoes.

The ladies seemed like they would belong to decent families but I guess there were people like these everywhere. I read the name on the card.

Lady Mariatte Hersgburn.

"What’s your name?" I asked the waitress and she blinked.

"I’m Betty." She said and I smiled before putting the card back in her hand before patting her head as I moved towards the table of the women.

The ladies stiffened up as I approached them and placed the card down on the table.

"I’m sorry but I’m not interested in ladies below my standing." I said making their eyes go wide.

"What?!"

"Do you even know who I am?" One of the ladies screamed.

"Hm? Who? Queen of Mordino?"

"What?!"

"Ah, but she’s extremely adorable so, I guess you don’t even remotely resemble her."

"You-"

"If you’re bored play among yourself, please. Don’t make things hard for others." I spoke and activated my Dragon’s Presence making the color drain from their faces.

I deactivated it quickly before it could make them lose their consciousness and I smiled.

"Then, I’ll take your leave, ladies."

"See you around, Betty." I said as I waved at Betth while leaving and she smiled back.

"Please come again!"

I stepped out after having a full stomach and roamed around looking at different stalls which were selling various things including charms and the tiny statues of Saintess Miella and Dragons.

The kids were running around and I heard them shout something which made my eyebrows jump.

"Quick! The Saint’s parade is reaching the market center! We’ll get to see him!"

I turned and started going behind the kids as even I wanted to see this Saint.
