Chapter 192: 191. Outcasts (2)

"All of you," I spoke looking at the Dark Elves, "will go with me."

The Dark Elves looked a bit confused before I crossed my arms at my chest.

"I don’t have all night."

They got to their feet carrying Anore with them and started moving.

"Great Dragon... You..."

"Make a choice now, Anore. Do you want a life of slavery and murder for yourself and everyone who look up to you? Or are you willing to give them a better life?" I asked.

Anore looked at his companions who stared back at him with hopeful and expectant eyes before he hung his head.

He pursed his lips before he looked at me, "Ca-Can you really help us...?"

"It’s up to you to believe or not, but if you’re going to die and leave all these orphaned then I’ll take them with me."

"I... don’t want them to be used like tools again." He said and I shrugged my shoulders.

"The conclusion of this war is already settled, Anore. If you don’t want death for these people then make a decision while I deal with your problem. You have..."

I mentally calculated the amount of time that I would have to spend in taking care of this man whoever has suddenly created a nuisance for me.

"Time till tomorrow afternoon." I said making his eyes go wide.

"I’ll go and take care of that bastard be ready with your decision till the time I return." I said before I turned and looked at Cynthia.

"Come with me." I said and she looked once at Anore before she stepped over to me.

We got out of the cave and returned to the base of my team, I saw Lyall and his team already there waiting for me.

He looked quite relieved to see me and I took found myself feel at ease watching him unharmed.

"Master, these all..." Enora gasped as she saw the Dark Elves following me inside the cave.

"Don’t worry, they won’t do anything to you." I assured them as I saw my assassins giving the Dark Elves a sharp look as they lowered their leader in one corner while they all stayed around him protectively.

"Bring me the map which has the locations of the Denril army." I ordered and Nora quickly brought me the map and placed it on the flat stone in front of me.

I looked at Cynthia and she stepped ahead, Nora gave her a cold look as she stood right beside me.

"Nora, explain." I spoke up making her tear her gaze off of the female elf before she looked at the map.

"The frontlines of Denril army are all here," she pointed at the spots on the map which were beyond the mountain range.

"Their Grand Duke is here with his army right at the frontlines and over here is Duke Berthon’s army," I observed Cynthia from the corner of my eye and I saw her flinch went he next name came up.

"Marquis Rolais and his army is stationed here in this spot," she said.

"And close by here is their Crown Prince Arian’s cantonment, it’s quite a dangerous place since there are a lot of elite knights and even magicians are stationed."

"Next is..." I heard her explain about those who were stationed around my target and I stopped her once I knew who all were in the immediate vicinity.

"Who’s willing to go?" I asked, "I have my target."

Anore’s eyes widened and the Elves looked at their leader who was completely all right without any discomfort and then at Cynthia.

"B-But I didn’t say anything." She said.

"You did," I corrected making her stare at me with a troubled expression.

She looked back at Anore and I looked at Lyall and Enora and others.

"Me!" Nora shouted.

"I will go!" Yugo followed by quickly.

"I’ll go," Lyall announced.

"Allow me to go as well," Enora said.

"I... Came here to help you so, I’ll go too." Lady Dahlia spoke up.

"I wish to go as well." Sir Adler volunteered.

"I... Well, I’ll go too." Roan spoke up avoiding my eyes.

A few other assassins also volunteered but I let them be as I had my team.

"Nora, Yugo, Lyall, Enora, Lady Dahlia, Sir Adler and Roan will go with me." I announced making the other few groan.

"Rest all stay here and don’t create any trouble, look after Drac for me and under no circumstances should I come back to see you fighting, do you understand?"

"Ca-Can we come too?" One of the Dark Elves spoke up.

"No, stay here and look after your leader. He might have some... trouble while I get rid of that bastard." I said making them all look at Anore.

"I-I’ll be fine," he said making me roll my eyes.

"Yeah, right." I mumbled and then looked at Drac who was sitting in a corner.

"Stay put for the time being, okay?" I told him and he nodded.

"Yes, Master."

I faced my team who had grabbed their weapons and nodded once before I stepped out of the cave.

"Make sure to keep up, we have only four hours left to deal with this," I reminded them.

With that said, I took off running followed by the ones behind me, Nora and Yugo jumped past the branches of the trees while Lyall and Enora like the night shadows fluidly rushed past the dark foliage of the woods. Lady Dahlia, Sir Adler and Roan were running together.

I was tempted to fly all the way to that base to cut time but I still couldn’t do it on my own since I didn’t know what tricks my target would have under his sleeve.

"Everyone be careful and under no circumstances will anyone go east side, we don’t want to alert Crown Prince’s battalion." I warned them.

"Understood!"

It was almost a task for them to keep up as we ascended the mountain at night while avoiding being detected at full speed.

We had to be extra careful while descending on the other side as there were a lot of reconnaissance teams whom we avoided getting into any conflicts with.

"Take positions." I instructed and my team dispersed with in the teams of two leaving Lady Dahlia and myself as we rushed straight towards the cantonment which we saw right ahead.

She had held her questions and her shock aside for the time being but I knew I would have to answer some of her questions later. I couldn’t have her tell about my real identity to anyone.

Just before we could enter the area of cantonment, I reached out to Lady Dahlia, she didn’t understand what I meant but placed her hand in mine. I unfurled my wings and with a single flap we were in the air, she suppressed her yelp and I held her properly before I shot towards the tent which seemed different than the others.

There were a lot of knight in the area and I could see them being quite relaxed as it was almost early morning hours, some of the knights were training while others were just emerging from their tents.

I and Lady Dahlia landed at the back of the tent and I twisted the necks of the guards who were close by before I entered the tent.

The Marquis was sleeping peacefully in his bed unaware of what was going to happen in the next few minutes.

"Marquis Rolais." I called and the man stirred.

"Who dares to call me in such condescending manner?" He grumbled and I walked over and kicked at the side of his bed making him yelp and sit up in a flash.

"Who the devil-"

He stopped short as he saw me standing there along with Lady Dahlia who stood a few feet away guarding the entrance of the tent.

"Who are you?" Rolais asked and I sighed.

"Grim Reaper." I answered before I pulled out my dagger.

"Wait-"

I activated my Dragon’s Presence making him clamp his mouth shut as he gripped his chest, clutched desperately at his silk sheets.

My eyebrows twitched as the magic shackles appeared on his right wrist and I cursed under my breath.

"It seems like he’s bound Anore with him," I muttered.

"What do we do now?"

"If I kill him, there are chances that Anore night die too."

Rolais was still writhing in front of me on the bed trying to withstand the pressure of my Dragon’s Presence.

"Is there a way that I can break this?" I asked.

[Goddess of Wisdom reminds you that you are a Dragon.]

"What of that?!" I frowned but then I recalled my mana capacity.

"I’m an idiot." I mumbled before I concentrated on the glowing mana shackles.

My mana engulfed the weaker spell and the shackles shattered making Rolais fall to the ground as his magic contract was suddenly broken. The mage who casted this must have been notified of it so, I had to work quickly.

I walked over to Rolais who was looking at me with wide, pleading eyes. I could see the fear of death in his eyes as he gasped and wheezed making me feel icy from within.

"I would have given you more painful death but I don’t have time." I spoke before I gripped the front of his brown hair before swiping the blade of my dagger over his throat.

The blood sputtered out and I walked back watching as he gurgled and clutched his sliced throat with the blood flowing from between his fingers.

"Let’s move!" Lady Dahlia said as she came beside me.

"They are coming." She said and I grabbed the burning lamp before slamming it on the bed setting the sheets in fire.

The chaos that I heard from outside was suddenly really close and we walked towards the back of the tent where we came from and I noticed the presences gathering there.

"Your Grace, take this." I said as I pulled off my invisibility brooch and handed it to her.

"What’s this?" She asked and I infused my mana into it.

"Invisibility device, hold on to it." I said and heard the sounds of the footsteps rapidly moving towards us.

They might be hindered by my assassins but it was still too much for them to handle.

"I’ll distract them, take my people and leave immediately." I instructed.

"What?!"

"Go back to the base, I’ll be there soon." I said and she pursed her lips before she nodded.

I inhaled deeply gesturing her to stay low and I raised my hand creating a huge water ball before releasing a huge amount of my Dragon’s Presence with so much pressure that it created an explosion.
