Chapter 188: 187. My Successor (4)
The light covered my vision for a split second before I opened my eyes in the darkness of the night. I blinked a bit and my eyes instantly adjusted to the night vision.
"Is everyone all right?" I asked looking at my three companions.
The three replied making me nod before I looked around to see if there was any presence of a hostile person, but there was nothing.
"Where are we?" Roan asked.
"It’s completely dark here." Sir Adler said and I frowned slightly.
We should have been teleported to where Drac’s teleportation device was so this place must be it.
I activated my Mana Eyes and looked around. The shiny object which was nestled in the bushes suddenly came to my view and I walked over to it and picked it up.
It was Drac’s teleportation pendant.
"What’s that?" Lady Dahlia asked looking at the pendant in my hand.
"Teleportation pendant that I gave Drac."
"Then he must be around." Sir Adler said as he looked around with his sword drawn.
"There’s no one in the vicinity," I stated as I looked around.
There was no presence anywhere near us except for the tiny creatures that belonged in the flora.
"Did he drop it here?" Roan wondered aloud.
"Whatever the case, it makes the case harder if he’s lost the only thing that could’ve led us to him." Lady Dahlia said and I sighed.
"I’ll have to contact the team I’ve sent here," I said.
"You have a way of contacting them?" Sir Adler asked and I stepped a bit at a distance from them looking at the sky from the gap in between the fleshy leaves.
I brought my hand up and placed my fingers in my mouth before I whistled and after a few seconds a black silhouette descended from the sky. It landed on my outstretched arm and perched itself properly with a shrill croak.
I brushed its neck and then looked at my team.
"We’ll have to run from here, make sure to keep up and don’t get lost." I instructed before I looked at the raven whom I had summoned.
"Take me to Lyall and others." I ordered and the raven flapped its wings releasing a croak before it flew up.
It started flying towards south so, we all started running keeping it in our sights. I kept my pace according to the ones who were around me while also making sure to be alert of our surroundings.
An unexpected ambush from any side was expected since we were also unexpected visitors here. But as of now, there was no other people around.
After running for a couple of hundred meters we came across a deep gorge and I had carried all three of them with telekinesis to the other side.
"Wait, you can do this?!" Roan shouted as we landed on the other side.
"Yes," I replied as we resumed our run.
"Then why were you carrying me around while flying?!"
"I think a lot of girls would want to be in your spot, Mr Roan." Lady Dahlia said.
"Exactly, girls! I’m a man, it’s strange being carried around like a Princess by another man." Roan whined.
"If it makes you feel better then, my husband was also carried by Master Ocean like that."
Roan fell silent for a moment before he spoke up, "I feel strange hearing that."
Lady Dahlia laughed at his response and I sensed the presence of a couple of people up ahead.
"Be alert, we’ve got company." I warned making the two snap back to the present.
I looked at them before with subtle nods we dispersed, it was definitely not my team they must be the reconnaissance team of Denril army.
They didn’t even seen like they noticed us before we were literally onto them. I slammed the head of one of the guys whom I found first into the treatment bark and kicked hard into the stomach of another sending him flying before snapping the neck of another.
Lady Dahlia and the others also swiftly took down whoever got onto their hands before we moved ahead keeping the raven in our sights.
We crossed another stream before we stopped as the raven also landed on the branch perched up calmly in its place. I looked around before I noticed the pattern on the leaves of the trees near us.
I plucked one of the leaves and showed it to Roan whose eyebrows jumped.
"Ah, it’s the same pattern from the seal." He recognised quickly and I looked around before I whistled again.
It took a few seconds but the rapid movements and the figures whooshing through the air were in front of me in kneeling positions.
"So fast!" Lady Dahlia gasped.
"Seraph Knights are not even at half of this speed." Sir Adler muttered.
"Nora, Yugo." I spoke up and the two said figures stood up and stepped ahead.
"Yes, Master!"
"Take me to Enora." I ordered and the two bowed before they turned and led the way.
The rest assassins followed along and after a few minutes, we reached in front of a cave. I walked inside smelling the scent of blood and medicines clinging to the air thickly.
The cave was deeper than how it looked from outside and there were burning torches lighting up the darkness inside.
The injured assassins stirred and tried to sit up as they saw me and I gestured for them to not move.
I walked up to the cot where Enora lay covered by linen sheets and bandaged body. Her right arm was missing while she seemed like she was barely breathing with her face gone ashy pale.
I reached out and touched her cheek tenderly making her eyelids crinkling and opening before her eyes adjusted on me.
"Master..." She tried to move but I placed my hand on her shoulder pushing her down.
"Stay down." I spoke making her groan slightly.
I could see the damage that was done to my team and it made my blood boil, my Dragon’s Presence whipped around but I forced to keep it down since there were really serious patients around.
"I’m sorry for failing you, Master." Enora spoke in a dry, hoarse voice.
"You didn’t fail me, Enora." I said as I gently brushed the back of my fingers on her frail looking cheekbone.
She closed her eyes for a moment before I sighed and looked around once again.
"This is awful," Lady Dahlia gasped.
"The wounds don’t seem like they were made by novices. That team, whoever they are they’re extremely skilled and also know the vital points of human body." Sir Adler summarised after he looked at the wounds of the victims.
"It wasn’t an act of brutality, it seems more like they were prepared to wipe all of these people out." Roan spoke up.
"That rules out the possibility of the attackers of being shifters then, shifters act more on impulse and brutality is their forte. These cuts are clean and none of them are unnecessary, it was as if they were out to kill, no less." Lady Dahlia concluded.
"Whoever those people are won’t get away with this." I mumbled before I breathed in deeply.
"Are you going to use your healing magic?" Lady Dahlia asked.
"I can’t lose even a single one of these people here." I spoke making her purse her lips.
"Then, we’ll wait outside while you do so." She said and gestured for Roan and Sir Adler to step out of the cave with her.
I inhaled deeply feeling the glow of my mana envisioning the oceanic waves in my head that ebbed and flowed in harmony before I nudged them in a winding vortex feeling the waves take the direction and flow out of their path.
[Activate Supreme Healing.]
My mana filled the air and swelled around like the huge wave of tsunami engulfing everyone that was around and along its way curing the ailments and the wounds of the bodies it touched.
After a few seconds, I stopped and then looked at Enora who slowly sat up and flexed her regenerated right arm. I could see the shock on her face as she stared at the appendage which she had lost being in its place once again.
"Master!" She gasped and I placed my hand on her shoulder.
"Feeling fine now?" I asked with a small smile and she smiled back her usual warm smile making me feel relieved.
"We’re healed!"
"My wounds are gone!"
"My fingers are back!"
"My leg is fixed!"
"Master Ocean is God!"
"All of our injuries are gone without trace! All hail, Master Ocean!"
The revived assassins started shouting and cheering and the ones who had stepped out returned hearing the commotion. The shocks were evident on their faces as they saw the nearly dead people now bursting with life.
"Stop shouting." I snapped and they clamped their mouths shut but couldn’t do anything about the grins on their faces.
One of the things that I was here for was done, the gravely injured were taken care of and now moving to the next thing that I had to do.
"Now that you’re all right," I spoke up, "tell me where Lyall and the others went looking for Drac?"
