Chapter 158: 157. Royal Summon (2)

I looked into the mirror as I adjusted the mask over my face and wore the black gloves to cover my palms.

"Careful," Remi said as he adjusted the gloves over my wrists and then fixed the sleeves of my black shirt and the my blazer before he put the diamond cuffs on my sleeves.

I smiled as he was doing it with quite concentration.

"Enora never did this, you know?" I said.

"B-But I want to help you in any way possible."

I chuckled as I patted his head gently before he picked up the brooch with the insignia of Ryujin family.

I gave myself one last look in the mirror, studying my reflection as I wore a completely black outfit with red silk cravat and vest with silver adornments under the coat which went upto my knees. I nodded with satisfaction as I looked quite dashing.

"You look so handsome that the Queen might fall in love with you, Master." Remi said as he removed the creases from my coat.

"Now that will be an interesting change of events." I spoke with a smile.

"Well, any girl would fall head over heels for you," he added before he stepped back looking at me up and down.

"I highly doubt that," I tilted my head fixing my gaze on him and he chuckled.

"You can even make men swoon over you, Master."

"I guess," I smiled as I picked up the crystal pendant prepared by Rune and Remi helped me wear it.

"I’m envious of whoever gave this to you, Master." He said making me smile.

"Why?"

"You always wear it,"

I chuckled as I put the pendant behind the cravat and kept it concealed there.

"Well, it was given by someone whom I cherish, so, I ought to keep it with me all the time."

Remi pouted cutely making me chuckle and ruffle his hair.

"All right, I’ll get going now." I said and he handed me the black cane with a large diamond studded on its silver shaft.

I went down the stairs making the household personnel who saw me stare at me as I passed by.

Even with the mask these guys were enthralled, I had changed the shade of my hair to midnight blue, so that it wouldn’t stand out too much along with the black mask with silver designs.

I walked out of my mansion and found the carriage with Ryujin family’s coat of arms– the oceanic waves with the silhouette of a flying dragon– waiting for me outside.

"Everything is prepared, Master." Roan said as he stood beside Slater.

"Address me as My Lord when we’re outside," I corrected as I mounted the carriage.

"Yes, My Lord."

"Let’s get going now,"

The mansion that I had made in the capital was still at a bit of distance from the palace so, it would take at least a couple of hours till we reached at the royal palace.

"Are you going to propose her or something?" Roan asked as he sat in the carriage adjacent to me with Slater beside him.

"I’m sorry, but I have refined tastes." I said as I placed my foot one over the other.

"That woman is a Queen."

"She’s still far below my standards."

"Well, I guess, she’s a mother of two and also like a cunning serpent." Roan mumbled.

"That’s not the only things, Sir Roan," Slater spoke up.

"Master has a huge populace of women to choose from, if he were to propose someone then that woman might just be as extraordinary as he is."

"Extraordinary, huh? Then, will you marry an elf girl or maybe a dwarf girl? Or wait, are you planning on marrying a Princess from another nation or... A shifter perhaps?" Roan asked making me roll my eyes.

"Your insight is really narrow, Sir Roan." Slater sighed.

"Yours is no better." Roan shot back.

"Why not? Master is a person who can shake this continent with a single move so, the woman who can move his heart must also have the same caliber. It can be anyone. So, you can’t narrow it down to one race or ethnicity." Slater explained.

I sighed as I tuned them out, the two had no idea that the thing they were discussing was completely irrelevant to the person of the subject. I was a female and straight to bone, I could seduce women with Ocean’s body but I was still quite sorted with my preferences. And also, I was a reader so, it would be nearly an impossible for anyone to be able to shake my heart.

"Why don’t we ask him about it right away?" Slater suggested.

"Good idea." Roan spoke.

"Master, what kind of a woman do you like?" Slater asked and I tilted my head to look at the two who seemed like they were really hoping for a serious answer.

I exhaled deeply before I leaned back, "My person... should be loyal and..."

"And?"

I turned my head to look at the sunrays that were piercing right through the thick clouds in the sky bathing the lush green fields with life and vitality.

"Someone like... the warm sunrays." I murmured softly.

"Warm sunrays?" Slater repeated.

"Wait, that sounds like Prince Eric?!" Roan squeaked.

"Don’t talk nonsense!" Slater snapped, "Master must mean someone who is loving and warm. Right, Master?"

"Hm..."

To be honest, I never really gave it a serious thought, I never had the luxury to think about romance or love, my life was about paychecks, missions, surviving and anime. In this life as well, I had my priorities set, surviving, making sure everyone else was safe, my plans to save this world and looking after my business.

I didn’t have time for love.

"Well, I like a girl who is beautiful and caring." Roan said with a grin.

"That’s surprisingly simple,"

"Hah? Do you even know how hard it is to find a girl like that?!" Roan scowled at Slater.

"Well, I like a girl who would be as strong as me and watch my back when we’re in fights."

Roan gave him a look, "You want a girl like you?"

"It would be better than having a girl who wouldn’t be able to keep up with me."

Roan’s face twisted into an expression that would look like if he chewed on a raw lemon.

"Why are you making that face?"

"Why don’t you find yourself a man instead? I wouldn’t want a poor girl to be crushed under the weight of your standards." Roan said making Slater reach out and grab his collar.

"You’ve got an amazing ability to piss people off, you know?"

Roan smirked, "Yeah, I’ve heard it often."

"You’re simply insufferable." Slater hissed.

"And you’re-"

"Stop it, you two." I scolded making the two to glare at each other before Slater released Roan’s collar and sat straight facing me.

The two stayed quiet for the rest of the way making it easier for me to think of the kind of scenarios that could possibly enfold while meeting with the Queen.

I had a lot of possibilities but the kind of things I would say and the answers that would be safer were already prepared in my head making me feel at ease as a student who had prepared well for their exams.

Before long, we were at the entrance of the royal palace. The guards who saw my carriage stopped it before confirming the identity and letting us pass.

My presence here would eventually cause quite a stir in the society later but for now, I could enjoy playing around the Queen for a bit.

The carriage stopped in front of the Queen’s palace, I got down and looked at the breathtaking architecture of the Pearl palace which housed the Queen of the country. It was named as the Pearl palace because pearls were said to be the Queen of all stones.

And while, this was the Pearl palace, the royal palace where the King resided was known as the Ruby Palace which reflected the fiery magic of the royal bloodline.

The Princes of the royal family stayed into the Sapphire palace while the Princesses were in the Emerald palace.

The concubines resided in the Opal palace and till the reign of the previous generation King it was quite a lively place, but after the ’death’ of concubine Elise, it was empty.

"Baron Ocean Ryujin?" I turned my head to look at a man dressed in a nice black suit with his light brown hair styled back looking at me questioningly.

"Yes." I answered.

"I’m William Duphrey. Please come this way, Her Majesty has summoned you to the parlor." He said in a polite tone though, I saw him staring at my mask for a tad bit longer than usual.

He turned on his heel and led me inside the palace. I looked at the beautiful carvings and the paintings that adorned the walls while my footsteps were muffled by the red carpets.

We stopped in front of the large double doors and William opened the doors leading me inside.

I walked in the parlor room finding no one in there and went and stood in front of the large window which overlooked the spacious garden filled with a variety of flowers.

I turned a little as I heard the doors opening and saw the person who had summoned me here.
