Chapter 355: Chapter 354 "Lin Daiyu at the Wind and Snow Mountain Temple

Nezha felt relieved after hearing his teacher’s explanation and understood what needed to be done.

In simple terms, it was just cleaning the server room, right?

His teacher had great skills and could organize the programs, but Nezha, being less skilled, could only clean out the accumulated dust inside.

No big deal, just get to work.

As long as he could keep his treasures, Nezha was perfectly satisfied. Besides, cleaning the server room wasn’t entirely without its perks—Nuwa, being a Saint and the owner of Primordial authority, could view any Great Dao she wanted, but Nezha, being just a little novice, didn’t have that privilege.

While working, Nezha started purposefully recording the Great Dao around him. There were so many Great Daos here that it was impossible to record all of them, so Nezha focused on the False Dao and Power Dao for observation and study.

Finding the False Dao had taken him some time, but the Power Dao required no effort. It was like the sovereign ruler of all Daos, running throughout the entire Origin Space.

Indeed, no matter which world you were in, everything relied on the forces at play.

Nezha managed to settle down into his task, but Nuwa, evidently, wasn’t one to sit still.

"Nezha, aren’t you pretty good at storytelling? It’s so dull here. Why don’t you tell me a story?"

Nezha scratched his head. He usually made up random stories to amuse Long Ji and the others—was his teacher really sure she wanted to hear those? After a brief hesitation, Nezha asked, "Teacher, have you ever heard the story of Lin Daiyu and the Wind and Snow Mountain Temple?"

Nuwa seemed intrigued.

"Oh? Who is this Lin Daiyu?"

"Lin Daiyu, well, she was the daughter of a certain dynasty’s Imperial Censor surnamed Lin. From a young age, she was different from her father. Though she had the frail beauty of a sickly willow, she was fond of wielding weapons and practicing martial arts. Thanks to her family’s scholarly influence, she could both write poetry and excel in combat.

When she grew up, her unparalleled martial skills earned her the rank of Chief General of the Eight Hundred Thousand Imperial Guards.

Later, her beauty drew the attention of Minister Cai, a second-generation rich kid whose favorite pastime was styling a middle part in his hair while playing ball. Lin Daiyu, with her proud and aloof nature, naturally wouldn’t give a second look to this spoiled brat..."

Nezha rattled on with great energy, and Nuwa listened even more intently—after all, the entertainment options within Primordial times were pretty limited.

When Nezha finished recounting "Lin Daiyu and the Wind and Snow Mountain Temple," Nuwa couldn’t get enough. Nezha followed up with tales such as "Flower Monk Tang Sanzang Fistfighting Town Guardian," "Pan Jinlian Conquering Five Passes and Beheading Six Generals," and "Lin Daiyu, Tang Sanzang, Pan Jinlian’s Peach Garden Alliance."

And thus, five years flew by in no time.

Nezha’s stories continued until he got to "Pan Jinlian’s White Clothes Crossing the River," and finally, the task of cleaning the server room was completed. But Nuwa was like a reader addicted to chasing novels.

"The story’s not finished, and now you want to leave? But since the task is done, I can’t forcibly keep you here to tell stories. However, there’s work to be finished properly—write all the stories you told me into books and deliver them to me!"

Nezha: ...

Ah, so this is that "work finished properly," huh?

Still, Nezha wouldn’t refuse his teacher’s request. Besides, it wasn’t anything particularly difficult.

Nuwa took Nezha to the Sun Star to collect sufficient Great Sun Flame before retrieving the Chaos Bell fragment and leaving. Before departing, she didn’t forget to warn Nezha to hurry up with his writing.

Nezha had no complaints. He returned to his Ziwei Emperor Palace and began writing with great vigor.

...

Inside Nezha’s quarters

Daji, her face flushed and her body unclothed, lay sprawled across Nezha, flipping through one of his previously written books.

"Nezha, why are you suddenly back to writing stories again? You haven’t even finished your last book, ’Stone Record.’"

Nezha’s hands skimmed over Daji’s smooth skin as he sighed and replied, "Hobbies and work aren’t the same thing, you know? Plus, while I might get away with slacking for regular readers, this book is for my teacher—I wouldn’t dare be careless."

"Mm-hmm, this one does look like you’re putting in more effort."

"Hey, remember when we first met? You treated me like an ink-grinding servant girl, using me for writing. Luckily, I had some skills, and now the tables have turned. I’ve made quite the comeback."

"Back then, it was just a mundane little ’Qi Nourishing Technique’ you wrote, but when you presented it to Emperor Gouchen, you claimed it was the majestic ’Nine Revolutions Golden Elixir Heavenly Immortal Technique.’"

In his sage-like state, Nezha responded casually while brooding over something, "Whatever I write, I get to name it however I like."

Nezha remained at Ziwei Star to continue cultivating for a while until an unexpected visitor arrived—it was none other than his easygoing second brother, Mu Zha.

Mu Zha’s talent was considered top-tier among mortals, but compared to someone like Yang Jian, he was still far behind. At best, he had the cultivation level of a Heavenly Immortal Perfection.

Fortunately, being a sort of Crown Prince in Buddhism meant his life was pretty comfortable.

After Nezha treated him to a hearty meal, Mu Zha explained the purpose of his visit.

Buddhism was planning to host a grand Water and Land Dharma Meeting at Lingshan. The event aimed to spread Buddhist Law and showcase the strength of the Buddhist Sect, as well as serve as a work summary and recognition conference since the sect’s establishment.

Nezha held the title of Great Strength Venerable King Buddha within Buddhism, so Mu Zha wanted Nezha to take the matter seriously, show Old Li some respect, and notify Guanyin Bodhisattva.

The matter of Spirit Stones related to Buddha Mother—Old Li hadn’t even disclosed it to Mu Zha, his own son. This wasn’t due to distrust but because less knowledge meant fewer troubles.

After eating his fill, Mu Zha resumed his travels. His special status allowed him to act as an emissary, inviting various self-styled Great Experts from their own mountains to attend the Dharma Meeting.

This approach displayed respect without appearing ingratiating.

After Mu Zha left, Nezha departed the Heaven Palace and headed to Fruit Mountain in search of Guanyin.

Although Nezha had only been away for a few years, Fruit Mountain had grown more prosperous. Two Monkey Demons guarded a half-meter-tall peach tree sapling, and Sleepless jumped up when he saw a rainbow arc across the sky.

"Sleepless, look! Another Immortal has returned!"

Sleepy rubbed his eyes groggily and muttered, "Where’s the seafood? Is there seafood?"

Sleepless smacked him on the back of his head.

"Eat, eat, eat—that’s all you think about!"

...

The antics of the two Monkey Demons didn’t escape Nezha’s notice. He found them quite amusing.

Heading into the depths of Fruit Mountain, Nezha indeed found Guanyin still chanting scriptures to a stone. Nezha observed that her efforts were yielding results, but the progress was rather minimal.

Guanyin was surprised by Nezha’s arrival. She knew Nezha preferred efficiency in his tasks and wasn’t interested in time-consuming, thankless efforts.

"Nezha, junior brother, what brings you here?"

Not mincing his words, Nezha sat down beside Guanyin and recounted what Mu Zha had said regarding the Water and Land Dharma Meeting.

Guanyin nodded thoughtfully, then scrutinized Nezha for a moment before saying, "So, you plan to attend like this?"

Nezha paused and inspected himself but found nothing wrong.

"Is there something wrong with how I look?"

"In Daoist circles, you’re perfectly fine, but if you’re attending within the Buddhist Sect, there might be some issues."

With a sly smile, Guanyin continued, "Why don’t I help you dress up a little, junior brother?"
