Chapter 93: Chapter 93- Leveraging his Advantage

"Ahem... it looks like your proficiency with Flame attribute Battle Skills is quite good. However, that alone does not prove that you are an alchemist. If you could refine a pill in front of us then we can..."...

Just as yang chen arched his brows in frustration. The second elder who was silently contemplating over something, cut off the fourth elder mid way.

"That would be enough. This young friend has shown us quite some skills as such, there is no reason for us to not believe that this young friend is an alchemist. You must be tired from your journey here, please come with me, I will lead you to your courtyard where you can rest".

"What?! But second elder we still haven’t confirmed that he is an alchemist yet?" the fourth elder retorted but he was quickly shut up by the glare of the second elder.

"The situation is urgent we cannot delay any longer. This person is very different than all the quacks that came before him. Not only does he have a High Tier Sky Grade Battle Skill but his arrogance and temperament also matches the alchemist of his stature. Additionally, I don’t know why but I have this gut feeling that he really is an alchemist" the second elder explained.

Of course they spoke in a low voice that only they could hear.

Left with nothing more to say, the fourth elder bit his lips and kept quiet. Although he had his concerns over the person who did not show his face, what the second elder said was correct.

The first elder was in a precarious situation, they could dupe the world, but they themselves knew how serious this matter was. If this person was really an alchemist, it would be bad if he offended him and they turned around and left.

The fourth elder kept his concern to himself and stayed quiet when the second elder led Yang Chen inside. Perhaps if he had been more forceful and not suppressed his concerns today, maybe their Zhang clan could have avoided the incarnation of disaster stepping into their home.

However, who could see the future? To save the first elder, the Zhang clan willingly brought disaster upon itself.

.

Yang Chen who was led inside the inner courtyard was given a suitable room matching his status to stay in.

"Hehh... the Zhang clan are treating me, their enemy quite well. To think a clan as disgusting and abhorrent as this one can also display such hospitality. It looks like they are very desperate".

These following days, Yang Chen was treated like a guest of honour. Everything was provided to him readily and his every requirement was met without any exceptions. All Yang Chen had to do in return was to cure the condition of the first elder.

.

.

"Have you gathered all the five herbs that I mentioned?" Inside the side hall, near the bed where the first elder was soundly sleeping, Yang Chen asked after checking the pulse of the man.

The question was directed towards the second elder who was also present inside the room.

"This... we have gathered three out of the five ingredients as Sir Alchemist asked us to, but we still have to gather the Hogweed Stem and the Thorn Flower. Please understand that these two ingredients are not that easy to find in this remote corner of a region".

"Please give us a little more time, all our auction houses and members are searching for it all over. We should find some news about it soon" the second elder cupped his hands and requested.

Not so easy to gather? Of course it was so. This was also the reason why he told them to gather it. He was deliberately making it difficult for them by asking them to bring ingredients that are difficult to find around this region.

Yang Chen was earning mischief points from their misery and at the same time extending his period of stay without rousing any suspicions.

"Sir Alchemist... I know you have told us this before, but can you really not refine the Profound Congealing pill? We already have all the required ingredients" the second elder asked hesitantly.

The Profound Congealing Pill was the tier 2 pill that was required to completely heal the injuries of the first elder, they had already gathered the required ingredients for it too.

But Sir Alchemist told them that he was unable to refine that pill because he wasn’t proficient in it and asked them to gather a different set of ingredients for a completely different pill.

"I have already told you so many times, I am unable to refine that pill. What I can’t, I can’t. The Profound congealing pill even amongst tier 2 pill ranks at the top. I have less than ten per cent chance of successfully refining it".

"And even if some miracle happens and I do refine it, the pill won’t even have 50 percent of its medicinal strength. If your first elder takes it, not only will his injuries not recover completely, there might even remain some hidden sequelae. Do you want this man to suffer a fate like that for the rest of his life?"

Yang chen flew into a rage and chastised the second elder not caring about his face or his reputation inside the clan.

Yang Chen had read from the Great Sage Emperor’s book that the profession that enjoys the most respect in this world is an alchemist. No matter where they go, people would fawn and try to win over them.

Arrogance, disrespect, misbehaviour? Everything was justified. As such, Yang Chen was fully leveraging on this advantage that he had gained and did not shy away from imposing down on even the elders.

Of course, he was doing things in accordance so as to not cross the line. As expected, the second elder silently endured his rebuke without uttering a peep.

"In that case, we will try ur best to gather the remaining to two ingredients as fast as possible. Sir alchemist... please continue healing the first elder as you have been doing until now".
