Chapter 95: 2.26.4 An impossible fight.

Remira never expected to reach this place. No, from the plan that Number Two had come up with, Remira would have been a great backup to the Knights in case an accident actually happened.

But, things would never go as one might have expected, the cologne that Pierta happened to use had eventually stuck to her weapon that she kept close. It was why the smell leaked and the strong nose of Remira picked up on that smell in the sewer.

And even though she struggled a lot, considering her goal, isn’t that just following up on that?

No, tracking enemies before they ambush the Knights would be much better.

Though, the more she followed the smell, the farther she went in front of the Knights, but if she wanted, she could have caught up to them. But when the face of dead Pierta appeared in her mind, Remira stopped in her tracks and chose to keep moving forward.

Whether this gun was thrown aside in the sewer or hidden somewhere, she was going to retrieve it. And in case, this weapon happened to be in the hands of a person, Remira was going to kill that person. This was her resolve that she was going to stand by.

Hence the moment she burst into the hiding place for Blue Lotus, her nose automatically followed the smell and she saw the woman who seemed surprised to find her enter this place.

"I will kill you." Those were her words, as Remira jumped to her with the sword in her hand. But the shield was already up and her sword bounced off of the shield, causing cracks on it.

Though this did save the Mage’s life, who suddenly smiled seeing Remira was here.

So finding the moment that Remira’s sword bounced off of the shield, she tried to back off. But a mage’s movements were too slow and feeble compared to a knight.

But for some reason, Remira came to a halt in her place, unable to move forward, while the woman secured some place, while giving a deep look at Reira.

"You are her aren’t you?"

"Bishop Dantalian, I can’t hold her back for long!!" A man that was on her side cried out. The very same curse user that had taken hold of Maxim’s body autonomy through his shadows. Now that same curse was impeding Remira from moving forward.

"Shush you! Our guest here is a very special person." Danalian appeared happy, but as the icicles formed around her body aimed directly at Remira, that smile didn’t seem very genuine.

On the other hand, Remira, knowing that she might be pig to be butchered if she remained bound by curse, she lit up a fire on her body, freeing herself from the curse, while the man next to Dantalian puked blood from the backlash before turning mute and then fall down like a statue.

Which didn’t affect Dantalian in the least, nor did it affect those around her, as all of them got ready to fight Remira.

But, this was a one sided fight and Remira was at a disadvantage.

Her enemy was a master level mage who had earned herself some distance, along with some annoying curse users that stuck close to her.

Not to mention, the gun that was strapped on her shoulder. The gun of a woman who was her last remaining kin, which was proof that this was the woman that killed Pierta.

Causing the anger in Remira’s heart to increase in intensity, as she activated flames of devotions, turning her hair white.

Holding back in a fight like this would be stupid, her opponent was too strong and she had to close the distance one way or another.

But before she could reach her, three knights of adept level broke from Dantalian’s group and approached Remira. Surrounding her and stopping her advance.

*Cling clang....

The cacophony of swords and fire spread in the area. The three knights each showing the same nature and abilities as Pansar seemed weaker than average knights. But due to their advantage in numbers was a huge issue for Remira.

Though the oddest part, as Remira’s attacks were causing burns on their bodies, these men instead chose to attack each other causing blood to form up on the surroundings

. These blood puddles turned into portals for these knights, making them more elusive as they started to attack Remira at a greater rate. And the only reason Remira remained protected was the armor she wore and the cover of her fire armor that would burn any poisonous blood from reaching Remira.

’These bastards are from the same family.’ Remira was used to fighting Pansar and without the ferocity of a master level backing. Not to mention, these Knights seemed incapable of creating blood clones, making them much easier to follow.

As Remira had the advantage in strength, defense, speed and durability. Her fire would even burn their injuries, making it impossible for them to spread their blood further.

"Haha, you are good even with a single hand. This is what I expected from you." Dantalian shouted from the side, applauding Remira’s martial powers, while the icicles floated next to her body, with their aim changing, following Remira’s movement.

On the other hand, Remira who had started to feel a bit tired, finally found a chance and cut off the leg of one of her opponents that tried to defend his companion, breaking the stalemate and then following up with the direct decapitation of the other man.

Which gave Remira the opportunity that she was looking forward to. But before she could rush past the last Knight, multiple icicles were fired her way, causing her to defend against them as she jumped around for a while, before coming close to slipping as the ground below her had frozen as well.

Though, this problem was easily solved as intensity of heat in Remira’s feet increase, melting the ice floor wherever she stepped and jumped

’This is too one sided.’

It was also this time that Remira knew that she had given too much time to this woman, to this mage. The threat of this whole room had increased by a huge amount, and no place was safe in it anymore.

It was common knowledge to never give a mage to cast their spells, as they were they turned stronger once given the time to develop.

’I need to move.’ Remira thought, before finding an ice wall blocking the path, that she had broken open with her fist before. But now, that path was closed as well.

"Why are you running now? I was so happy to meet you here. I always wanted to meet you." The woman came closer to Remira as more icicles burst around her body. And two of which hit Remira’s body.

Though they didn’t end up freezing her due to the fire that covered her body, she still crashed on the wall that suddenly started to grow more ice around her body, though failing to succeed in encasing her as the ice would always melt around her body.

But this still drained Remira’s stamina.

And knowing that it won’t be long before she meets her demise, Remira knew that her struggle would be meaningless after a while. It was why she chose to speak."And I have been looking for you. " She said, looking at the gun on Dantalian’s waist.

Which did attract Dantalian’s interest, as she took out the gun and held it in her hand. "Oh this?.. I had completely forgotten about this gun, due how interesting you were." Dantalian complimented Remira, before aiming it at her body.

"I would assume this belonged to someone close to you?" She asked. And Remira replied yes. "I would pierce your heart, like you did her’s."

"Oh, is that so?" Dantalian asked, before continuing. "Let me reciprocate your feelings." With those words, the bullets started to fire from the revolver, barely hitting Remira as the loose grip and lack of experience of Dantalian made her a bad shot.

But she enjoyed it as Remira focused on protecting her head which was exposed to harm.

Which seemed to be the right choice as one bullet grazed her gauntlet and if she was not holding up her hand to protect her head, she might not have died due to the flame armor created by the burning blood, but the injury to her head would have been bad.

"Hey, why are you defending yourself? Didn’t you come here for this?" Dantalia shouted while emptying the revolver.

And when she was done, "Now I am bored of it." Then she dropped it on the floor, earning ire from Remira. Who was eyeing Dantalian with bloodthirsty expression.

Though, she was astounded to find that she was unable to move once again.

But this time, the reason was different.

’My flames?.’ Her endurance was at the limits at her feet as well as back had been stuck to the wall with ice. Making it harder for her to move.

"Ah, it seems like it’s done." Dantalian’s mood suddenly turned serious as she came closer to Remira. "I would have loved to turn you into an ice sculptor, just like that woman."

Remira knew that her end was near. And she was even readying herself to die at this point. But she was not someone weak enough to beg for mercy or anything. Hence the reason she just spat at Dantalian. A spit that had some of her blood in it.

Before calling. "Kill me... I don’t wanna listen to your bullshit."

"Oh I would... You don’t know how much I hate you and that bastard Rat King. But this is the same reason I won’t kill you."

"He needs to be there, when I kill you."
