Chapter 83: 2.23.3 Misty
"You there... I believe it’s the clown?" Pansar asked, his face brimming with smile and desire. As for what that desire was, it was something very simple. "Because if you are him, I can finally cut your neck."
Remira on the side, hearing such words put her guard up. She knows what happened to Farhad’s body, at least she understood the gist of it. As for the details, she was not aware of them as much.
But seeing his body here and obviously under control of some stranger, she found him threatening and when Pansar’s previous words were taken into account, this was the very being that protected her.
The very person due to him that she was alive at the moment. But instead of feeling safe on his arrival, she felt nothing beside hate and disgust. Seeing the body of Farhad puppeteer’ed by something else was unnatural in her eyes. A blasphemous act done toward the dead.
An act that reminded her of her past, but her emotions had no place here. Driven by emotion, she would only accelerate her demise.
For now, she has to escape and run away from here, with the intensity of fight and what happened in the underground market, she knows it won’t be long before the guards come here.
She has to survive till then.
So with her blade ready, she was ready for any attack, while also giving Farhad’s body a curious look, wondering why he was here.
’Wait... a puppeteer?’
"Of course I am him, you don’t know the sacrifices I had to make to obtain such a great vessel." Jester spoke with a bright smile while stepping into the bar. His eyes darting to the collapsed Old Knight then toward Remira, before smiling. But he didn’t say much and walked calmly toward Pansar, who was ready to fight.
"Do you know what you are doing goes against the contract?"
"There was nothing about a rotten corpse in it... I believe you would be fine even after I kill that body of yours." Pansar said, frustrated by this clown who had been nothing but a nuisance to them.
But Jester just laughed with his youthful face that had turned pale, "But oh Sir, I am dead. Deader than your old master." These words directly cut at Pansar’s heart. The fate of his master and what eventually became of Pansar as a result was always his weak point, and now the clown he hates became aware of such words, making his anger soar.
So Pansar tightened the grip on his blade, as two new clones grew out of the blood splotches on the walls, further weakening Pansar. But this was to be needed if he had to take down this body that this clown had acquired after so much hard work.
Besides, if the words of Kairut were to be believed, Jester had done a lot to obtain this body, so losing it would be paramount to ruining one of his plans.
But when he thrust forward in a lightning speed, he didn’t attack the body of Farhad, instead he aimed directly at Remira, whole flames were starting to flicker. Showing that it was the time for him to go.
So mixing up his body with his clones, to hide the real one, two of the bodies attacked Remira, while the other one directly at Jester.
*Cling clang...
Then the sound of ripping came across as Remira deflected the attack, before throwing up blood as the poison in her blood became stronger, causing her flames to die out and her becoming victim to the blades of the clones.
And yes, both of them were mere clones, who were now easily able to handle Remira due to her waning strength. While the real body aimed for Jester that proudly stood in the bar, awaiting judgment.
He neither acted or reacted, he didn’t even try to defend himself. Just looking straight into Pansar’s eyes as his neck was ripped apart with a blade.
But Pansar didn’t feel any satisfaction, only confusion remained on his face as he backed off from Jester.
Though, before he could create any distance, he felt a blade directly enter his heart, making him confused for a while he wondered who, when and how did this happen.
Countless thoughts erupted in his head, before the strength in his body started to die down, while suffocation and jitteriness spread through his body. The coldness of death he was so used to had now come for him.
Then with little strength Pansar could muster, he looked toward the headless Jester, whose body soon turned to mist and disappeared. "Hah!... I.... Los....." With those last words, Pansar’s head was decapitated by his killer in a single stroke.
"Phew!" The old knight said, sweating and breathing heavily as he made sure that Pansar was dead, before approaching Remira who seemed a lot more injured after the attack of the two clones. "Get up, we have to get out of here..." The old knight said, before holding her fallen body, and putting some antivenom in Remira’s body.
A temporary measure, but it would earn the two enough time to move away from here and get proper treatment.
And Remira didn’t struggle much, silently taking in the antivenom, she looked toward the bodies in front of her that had fallen and turned into blood once again. Then tuning to Pansar’s real headless body.
"Did you see him?’
Remira asked, confused over what just happened and how. But the old Knight just shook his head. "I just heard him... he came to wake me up in my dream."
What just happened now left Remira confused. Did Farhad really come here?
If so, where is he now?
No, the more important question is. Why did he save her?
Confusion was written all over her place, while the old knight hunched down and searched Pansar’s body, finding blades and a bottle of corpse powder. But no real antidote.
Though, it doesn’t mean there was no way, taking the blood of Pansar where the poison originated from, The old Knight left the scene with Remira, with many questions in his own mind. Questions he would put forward in front of his captain.
If he survives that is. Because he can hear that the army was closing in on the place and both of them have still not recovered from their weakened state.

Not far away from them, Kairut took a sigh of relief as he found that his master had stopped draining him.
He looked around and found the underground market in chaos. He can finally see some guards that were looking for the perpetrators, who had long left the scene.
While he himself just walked toward the teleportation gate in a bid to escape from this place.
As for his master being here?
Of course he wasn’t, just a projection of him in the real world using the knocked out Old Radiant Knight as a medium while Kairut acted as the battery and the being that acted as the proxy.
Though for the effect it provided, the efficiency of this technique was very low, Kairut felt sleepy and drained after this small action. But this needed to be done, after what he had tried to pull off before.
As for bringing his master here? Of course that was impossible, it took him hours to reach this place from the clock tower, how can his master accomplish the same thing in just a few minutes?
Hence, it was something that needed to be done, no matter the sacrifices.
It was the only way to save Remira, a woman who Jester’s gives too much importance to. But there was also the fact that he did the same with Farhad at a time.
’She would have a sad end as well.’ With those words, Kairut entered the Brothel that was his goal since the start and after moving through some evocative imagery, he entered the teleportation zone.
"250 gold or two Moon coins." The attendee asked and Kairut paid, before entering the teleportation circle and putting in the coordinates to the place where he was keeping his children in hiding.
And after entering the circle, his body disappeared, while the coordinates in the teleportation circle turned to dust on their own.

"He died..." Vanessa sighed in her office, but she could feel that the mark on Soros remained unharmed and he was still moving toward the office of the mayor in the dark of the night, so she was not too disappointed.
At least, that man had done what he was meant to do and in future, once he revives, he would have a better chance at life in Blue lotus.
That is if he can.
Because there exist countless creatures in this world, some living, some unliving,
Some sentient and capable of reasoning, and then some plants or animals.
Even an amoeba is a life of its own.
The chances of one reincarnating as human once again is rare. Not to mention, depending on the kind of body they reincarnate in, their memories won’t matter much or will be erased the moment they reincarnate in their new body.
Which is why Vanessa pitied Pansar a bit. The story about how the chances of the hex inscription rarely working was in truth a lie created by Blue Lotus.
It actually worked 100% of the time, retaining core memories of last life of what made you your old self.
But that only works if the body one reincarnates into has a high developed mind. "This was his fate..."
Vanessa thought, before calling for some of her men, readying for an all out brawl with Maisel in case Soros fails in his attack.
