Chapter 648: 10.01.2 Time to leave.

It was wonderful. These people, playing family and all.

Amir felt some envy, but also a bit of pity. These actions of theirs were closer to creating weakness. Weakness that can be abused by their enemies. And from what Amir understood, there were two core weaknesses of this group of siblings, one being Mini and the other being Gazelle. Both are for entirely different reasons, but both are the core part of the group that keeps it functional to a certain extent.

And in turn, getting your hands on either one of them will also expose many details that only Owl might know.

Or so Amir thought, such plans were for later. ’I don’t know if I can do it though.’ He thought, helping clean the plates while ruminating his options. Although there existed a level of hatred against these people in his heart, it would be a lie to say that he didn’t become close to them. Which made his conviction falter a bit. Such were the ways of the world, being human you always end up forming bonds with those that you remain close to, even if that bond was born out of some unsavory circumstances.

"You have been thinking too deeply today, did something happen?" Came a voice, it was not a woman’s but something closer, which meant only one thing. "Owl, can you give me some peace."

"You had the whole day to yourself..." Owl spoke, his eyes curious, dancing around Amir’s body, searching for something before he sighed. The seals were still intact, which meant that there was nothing to worry about, for now at least.

"You know this can’t go on for too long. You will either have to kill me, or release me." Although his future while going back still remains a mystery, or how he would be treated during his return, Amir still remained adamant about his goals. This was just a small setback, even if he is thrown out of the Royal circle, he still has the identity as the top researcher and engineer of Cynark, and he can live anywhere he wants and enjoy his dreams.

"Or you can just come with us, join our group like my Master had been suggested to you long before."

"A master that is under enslavement, isn’t it?" Amir spoke, his eyes deeply scrutinizing each aspect of Owl. "Not to mention, us being here tells enough that you had lost your home in Yethel, have you not?"

"So pardon my rudeness, but you have nothing to give me anymore, nor do I have to give you anything besides knowledge. As for strength, I won’t ever use it against my family or country."

"A direct refusal as always... This does hurt me a lot. But there is truth in your words, we at the moment of time really don’t have much to give you." Owl didn’t deny the current bad circumstances he had found himself in. Most of their funding came from Yethel, the resources of Team B were also only accessible due to the connection with Yethel. But now, they were homeless and resourceless. Acting like nomads and moving from one place to another while being directionless.

Such was their fate if no one showed them the path forward.

To people like that, after a while of silence, their hands will itch and to prove their identity as the scion of Jester, they might create chaos on a greater scale without any control. But Amir had been unaware of such details, to him, they were just a bunch of directionless fools bidding their time.

"But are you sure you wish to go back? Back to being the pathetic prince whose very existence is based on a lie?" Barely anyone knew of Amir until a few years ago, even then when he rose to power and influence, he barely acquired any following of his own. The most influence he got was due to Ludwig, his somewhat dead cousin, and the noble families that he once used to fight with.

As for why this was the case? Well from what the majority understood, Even though he had the right to the throne, he was never considered part of the royals, and hence he was below thirty when it came to being next in line. Even then, that was a lie, an illusion made up by royals to show that they still considered him someone important, but even if somehow his turn came, he would never get the throne no matter what.

The reason eluded Amir, not like he ever cared about such things. Well, that was the case when he was busy all the time. Since coming here, he had too much free time, and a devil formed in his empty mind.

The devil of suspicions. Though, Amir won’t be speaking of it at the moment. Even though the way he looked at the Royals had taken a hard turn and his understanding of his own family deepened due to the new perspective he was exposed to, it doesn’t mean he was no more part of that accursed family.

And being part of that family ensured he could never be part of this family. Not to mention, at a certain part of his mind, he detested traitors and hence never wished to be one no matter what.

"I don’t care if it’s a lie, I wish to change the world for the better, and I can’t do it from here, on this island."

Hearing such words, Owl did turn mute for a bit, before thinking hard and saying. "Then don’t... Don’t go to Yethel or Cynark... heck I say, abandon Brihma altogether. That’s the only way to abandon the past."

"What do you mean?"

Owl looked around, his mind scanning the area while his hands silently cast multiple seals into the room, sealing all the voices inside.

This did surprise Amir, but he didn’t say much; he just waited to hear what Owl had to say that would require such measures.

And the answer was obvious after his first words. "Gazelle she... is not like us. You know it, I know it and she knows it... she was never meant for this life and I don’t wish for her to waste her life looking after us." Owl appeared serious at the moment, his tone low but more emotional.

"What do you mean to say?"

"Take her away to the Land of Azad, join any conglomerate there, research, and make things as you always wanted and hopefully, you give my sister a normal life, that’s all I hope for."

At this moment to Amir, Owl appeared a bit pathetic, though calling it vulnerable would be more apt. But going back to the point, Amir really turned silent hearing such words, turning silent and taking a bit to process it all.

"There you won’t have to pick and choose a side, just live the life you want free from both your family and my master. He won’t come after you, this I can assure you."

"No... don’t take me for a fool, I have noticed it. She knows more than she lets on. This is a trap."

"I don’t know what kind of misunderstanding you have about her, but there is no such thing, she is the only sane one among us, and it’s too cruel on her... she needs stability, a level of normalcy that would elude her until she leaves us. So I hope you fulfill this wish of mine."

Amir didn’t know what to speak of at this point. He really had nothing at this point in his hand, because this suggestion by Owl came out of nowhere. ’A trap, this ought to be a...’He thought but stopped midway as he looked at Owl with his soft smile.

His intentions were unclear, but with some deeper thought, this option was really the best. Not being involved in either side. But.

"I will refuse... I have to return no matter what." No matter the suggestion, he had to go and meet his mortal parents, the ones who would die in the coming decade at the latest. Even then death is such an odd thing, it can come any day out of nowhere.

So he had to meet them at least once. He had to ensure that they knew he was fine, he had to make sure that no harm would come to them, nor their son.

This was the least he could do considering their lives were forever changed due to him.

"Stubborn as always.... Do you really love that false prince identity more than a peaceful life?"

But Amir didn’t respond at this point. All he ended up saying was. "The dishes are done." And then leaving the room. Unaware that this small interaction had been noticed by me, who had arrived in this small place for a while now.

"Master, he still refuses the better life," Owl spoke all alone.

It’s been two days since his Master arrived here, well at least a part of him. However, this part alone seemed to show the intelligence and knowledge that the other ones lacked before. The ones created by Lord Emotion.

"No need to worry too much... the seed of doubts had been planted in his head, and the other seed is also growing inside of him. So on the third month mark, let him go and then leave for the Land of Azad. This continent is too dangerous for us at the moment."

I had been kicked out of Yethel once it gained the power to stand on its own, losing countless clones, memories, experiences, and knowledge in the process. If not for the backups I kept inside the dreamworld, I would have turned into a child by now.

But even then, my Totem currently was in tatters, leaving only two heads one being the rat and the other being the Druid. Which did impact my divinity, causing the ones who followed the path of my blood, AKA my knights to lose power and abilities to a certain extent.

Such injuries, were hard to heal, more so when in this place I had been ruined to such a level.

But enough was enough, It was time to leave. That’s my plan at the moment.
