The God of Jesters
Chapter 646 - 9.20.5 Epilogue3: Don’t ruin my fun.

Chapter 646: 9.20.5 Epilogue3: Don’t ruin my fun.

Hatred brewed between the two, as neither of them actually liked each other since the start.

"Such cruel words for to someone you brought back to this world." Lord Emotion at this point lacked any semblance of emotion on his face. "I would be so thankful to you, if not for your arrogance..." Even with the dislike he carried for Jester born from the vessel he possessed, Lord Emotion supported his little hijinks. Supporting him by giving him his vestige and letting Jester abuse his name.

A proof of how kind of a god he was. But Malidi? He from day one had denied his advances, he refused to acknowledge any help Lord Emotion provided and even went out of his way to prevent any connection from being formed between the two.

Which Lord Emotion did find a bit offensive, demeaning even.

This man Malidi had sought help and support from Jester’s clone, even the foolish Dragon. But never him. Why? Did he consider him lower? A little god?

Such were Lord Emotion’s hidden thoughts. For Jester, he was more possessive over him due to the potential and abilities that bizarre being possessed, so even with the hatred the vessel might have once held against Jester, Lord Emotion still chose to use Jester and his abilities to his advantage. He can suppress his hatred for him without an issue.

But against this arrogant Mortal, this Malidi, it was hard to suppress it. If not for fearing the damage their fight could cause to the material realm, they would have already started to fight.

"Why should I not show arrogance against a thankless individual like you? Enslaving the very nightmare that let you wake up early... aren’t you ashamed?" Malidi spoke, looking into the direction of a reality far from the material plane, a realm only accessible by Totems or Daemons.

It was there the core of Jester was sealed, along with all his other derivatives. "Letting them devour each other, you will destroy the very reason why that Nightmare could grow to this level." It was miracle enough that the current Jester was able to endure such torture of mind for so long.

"I got him to reach the totem level, I protected him from the nightmares that haunt him, and I gave him the chance to be my angel. Not many are blessed with so many life-changing opportunities."

"Binds ruining the potential of that creature. We both are well aware of his capabilities, letting him rot as an angel of yours doesn’t sound so good to me."

"Just fear that you won’t be able to research the nightmare, do you?"

"Truth in that. I appreciate his help in my research of those creatures, but more than that, I appreciate his other values as well."

"Values? The most he does is create chaos and enemies wherever he goes, not to mention, the Taboo his very existence is. With being under me, he won’t be able to do much harm to this world, but without any boundations..."

"... he will be free to bring forth some variable to the expected end result of this future."

"..."

They say that the future is never set in stone, but few among the higher beings actually believe it. In their eyes, the major events can’t be changed, and they can never be affected in any way, shape, or form. At the end of history, the results will be the same no matter how they reached that conclusion.

And so it has been for most of the history.

Well, that was, until the birth of the First Knight.

"So its fear of that future.... I wonder what you saw during your ascension." Lord Emotion spoke, holding Malidi with some scrutiny, but then he shut up. "No matter what, I can’t allow you to free him. He is more valuable while being bound in chains." The chains are the new personality that will take over the core one.

"I hold no fear for it," Malidi spoke, putting down his teacup. "What I hold is contempt for people that fear the changes..."

"You say such words while being on the path of godhood yourself. You do know that with him around, things might not go the way you wish them to be." Lord Emotion spoke. "Nightmares caused my sister to fall, and that is an anomaly born of nightmares. Something that shouldn’t exist and if it does, it should be under the thumb of one of us Chaos gods. Otherwise, you know what happens once Jester comes under the eye of him... he had been mad for ages, he would burn this whole country to the ground if he became aware of him."

"So all I am doing is preventing such cruelty from happening. My older brother might be inhuman when it comes to dealing with these things, but I am not. I don’t relish in death like him.’

"...Death for mortals is inevitable and there are billions of them on this world, but Jester, there is only one of him, I can’t let such a prized creature be wasted."

"You are mad Malidi..."

"But you should be aware, once you take him, there is no going back. The Sun will come for not only him but you as well." Malidi was a normal man walking a bizarre path. But there was no crime there unlike the case with the First Knight, nor Jester.

Both of whom were anomalies, creatures that shouldn’t exist in nature.

"I had been aware of the day I met that creature. Such an existence can’t live for long on this world, and the only reason he still does is due to his mercy." The mercy here was mostly ignorance. The sun for all its strength and omnipotence never achieved omniscience, there were places where his light never reached. And it just so happens that due to the unique state of Jester, he never lived in the light.

"Then go, take him... but don’t bring him back to this place. He is not welcomed here anymore."

******

It was a place without time, a place where every second felt like an eternity, leaving your mind muddled and weak.

More so when your mind was broken into pieces, and each of those pieces twisted beyond recognition.

But I remained sentient through all of this.

"My head... " I was a beast born of death and nightmares, my domain was the world of fear and entertainment. A being with four heads, and a beastly body.

And currently, most of these heads remain empty, barring just one.

"Who am I?" Spoke a voice primal to my ears.

I looked at it with the hollow head of the Jester. And there it was, the one with green hair, floating in the void with an intact skull.

"You are me," I spoke, letting the head know who it was so that it didn’t go astray.

"Colorful... "it replied, looking at me. Will you play?" it asked again, making me go mute for a second. "Haha... it’s been so long since I played with myself." And so, I opened my mouth just like it did it, and both of us rushed to each other, intent on devouring the very essence of ourselves.

And I lost.

"Fool." Multiple me have died to that monster, devoured with no pieces of soul intact. Most just beings made of my soul, but it was finally time for that green thing to target another head which died easily.

The Jester Died to the Druid, and the faceless, it was broken into little pieces forming up thousands of clones that still devour each other.

And then there was me, I was the rat, hiding from the carnage above, bidding my time, waiting for the final victor.

That was my intent, the game I was playing.

But would I succeed? I didn’t think so, but watching all this play out from the side was pretty enthralling. Ignoring the obvious winner that Green thing, the chances of other clones of mine were pretty much equal, so the struggle they went through was far more brutal and unexpected. And 7/10 times, I was right on point on who will win a conflict. The remaining three-part error was caused by the unexpected variables where multiple came into crash the fight.

"So wonderful." It felt like a rat fight, with blood and guts floating in this bizarre place enshrined by a god of some sort.

As for who? I can’t recall at the moment, all I did was find this giant cage pretty fun. "Kill... massacre... devour each other... let the best one win," I spoke through my heart.

But then, something changed. "Ho?" I saw the green thing, the king of the arena was suddenly overwhelmed by some bizarre ones that seemed far different than my other clones. "Ho, so the owner of the arena has released his modified ones," I spoke, looking a the green thing fighting for its life with its head alone. Such a pathetic last struggle. Such inequality.

There was no fun in this. "DON’T RUIN MY FUN!!!" I shouted to these broken clones of mine, rushing to help the overwhelmed head. But that might be the wrong choice. "The Rat is here... the rat.... Kill him." They shouted, feeling my presence.

But it was then a light exploded above the cage, exposing what appeared to be a young man who with a sad sigh spoke. "Stop."
